Of all the automotive experiences I have had, this ranks as among the worst. Today, I took my 2025 VW ID.Buzz and asked the older guy at the front desk if they could add side steps/running boards for safety reasons. Instead of advice on running boards he immediately went into a long sermon about MAGA politics. The front desk guy (not JR, to be fair) right away said how much he dislikes electric vehicles ("What you gonna do with them batteries one day..."). Also said he wasn't aware that VW still made the microbuses. I said mine is right out there and he sneered and said, "kinda hard to miss, ain't it." Things went downhill from there as he started in with his criticisms of government from an extremist Maga viewpoint, that windmill blades are running the planet ("Them Chinese melt down the old blades and dump them in the ocean), how the past presidents have let all of "those people," and so much more. No real help and loads of insults. My advice: look elsewhere for your retrofit needs. read more

JR's did an Outstanding job! Upgrading the suspension. Our MBZ SPRINTER was very rough riding, even driving slowly over railroad tracks, it would sway sideways left to right. With the Air Suspension upgrade, it significantly cut down on rocking left to right. As for the passenger cabin ride comfort, it's a major improvement, no more being jolted around. The ride is smooth with far less bounciness! Not only did JR's deliver on installation, they did the job in (3) days well ahead of schedule. Aubrey, took great care of us communicating important information and kept us well informed on status which we greatly appreciated, Homer one of the technicians was very informative about the air suspension dynamics and operation. Also, another technician Spencer graciously drove our Sprinter while I rode in the back, so I could experience the ride difference. I must say I definitely noticed the difference. Bought a Rolls Royce Dawn (toot toot) from a 3rd party and had a slow leak in the front right tire. Called around town and nobody could fix the leak because of the size of the 24 " tires. Gary and team went above and beyond to help me resolve a minor issue with my bed cover that was caused by a different shop, and they did it at a FAAAR more than fair cost. This was my first time here for a minor service and I was treated like lifetime VIP. The waiting area is very luxurious and comfortable. I was looking for a shop to tint my car windows and JR's came highly recommended from a buddy who had also gotten the same service done on his vehicle. At the $139 price tag I honestly had some concerns, but with the Texas summer quickly approaching I gave it a go. I was advised to go early so I wouldn't have to wait too long so I got in around 10am. I was shown the different options of tint and was even given the choice of choosing the not so legal variety. I had some of that foggy film on my windows that I forgot to wash off, but they said it wouldn't be an issue as they clean it off before applying the tint. I was told to come back in 2 hours and when I did I could barely recognize my car with the new tint. Upon closer inspection the job was really well done so much so that my buddy that drove me there, Albert N., set up an appointment to get his windows tinted at that moment. JR's does a lot more than just tint (they advertise on rims, audio and just about anything else automotive you can think of) and with the courteous and professional people there I can't see how you can go wrong here. read more

This is my recent experience with JRs Custom Auto shop in Irving. Worth the read. Emailed back and forth as well as spoke with an Ashley over the phone during the day today and called near closing time. She was very nice and said to come by right before they close so I can chat about getting my taillights blacked out. She said they close at 6, and I said I can be there by around 5:30. She said she would wait for me. When I arrived I was told Ashley had left. A little surprised, just thought maybe something important happened and she had to leave, no biggie. I decided to ask for help anyway. Someone pointed me to an older white male with a country-ish accent and wearing a Texas Rangers shirt. First thing he said to me was "Just drop your keys off thanks". I politely informed him I was supposed to speak with Ashley about the process of blacking out my taillights. He said she just left. I said Ok and then asked to see a finished product and ask a few questions about the process. He said he 'thought' they had one done in the back. He asked me to follow him to the back main garage which was horribly unorganized. VERY nice vehicles in the garage all scattered and seem to have been parked however they can fit. Stepping over bumpers, squeezing through someone's very expensive Audi and Mercedes. Didn't have one done, again no biggie, followed him back to the front. He took me to the front where they had an actual taillight finished product. Looked good, I got excited. I showed him my car parked outside, asked him about prices for the lights and other options. Quoted me higher than what he had told me on the phone just a few weeks ago. (Actually the first time I spoke to him months ago he quoted me double of this price and was quick to get off the phone....?) I said it sounds good price-wise but had some questions about the logistics of leaving my car for 3 days, but he immediately said "Ok just drop your keys off we'll have it done by next Thursday." So again, I started to say that I would have to try and make sure I had a backup ride to get to work for the next few days and as soon as he realized I wasn't buying today he cut me off mid sentence and his exact words were -"Oh ok you can go ahead and go on then." And made a 'shoo' motion with his hand like I was a fly. For a split second I was shocked and didn't know what to say. He had already started to walk back to the front door to go in. A younger mechanic was shadowing us the whole time and he sat there silent as the older guy walked off and I sensed even the younger man felt awkward and embarrassed at what just happened so abruptly. My reaction was to laugh it off and say "Ok, well do you have a card and I will contact you when I'm ready?" He just continued to walk back in and said "Yea they are up here at the front."....I just ended up getting in my car. I sat in my car and proceeded to email Ashley who was nice to me but ended up leaving instead of staying and was typing a lengthy email due to the utter shock of disrespect and what had just happened as a potential customer about to spend hundreds of dollars. 5 minutes had gone by and it was about 10 minutes before 6pm when they close. He came back out, knocked on my window to tell me he was about to lock the gate and I should probably leave before he locks it. I chuckled a little out of anger honestly and said "Ok no problem." I am not a "yelper". I honestly have never left a review for a place ever. I was just so shocked and in disbelief someone would treat a potential customer like that. I am always very cheerful, respectful, and keep the environment around me positive. At no point in time was I acting in any manner of disrespect or anger or anything, I just don't get it, I was interactive, trying ask questions and gather information. I haven't gotten anything like this done custom on a car before. I guess that is just how he runs his business or that is his character. I am assuming he was the Manager or possibly the Owner, which is even more shocking. The work he showed me looked great and I was so excited to move forward with the process and it would have taken me just a few days to schedule a back up ride to get this done to my car. But for someone to disrespect and dismiss you like that for something you are passionate about honestly hurts a little. I work really hard and was willing to spend some saved up money for this. Just based off of his character and how he treated me I will not spend a dime at this garage unfortunately. Also have several friends who were looking into getting some custom work done on their cars as well and they will not be referred here. It looks like a very nice custom garage and I hope this is not everyone's experience here but I had to bite my tongue not to tell that guy how I felt about how he just treated a potential customer. Again, absolutely shocked and angry. Found another place with excellent work in Dallas for 40% less, and I scheduled to do it tomorrow. read more

I'll be honest I was a little skeptical after talking with Gary about leveling my truck and wheels/tires. After picking it up, I was thoroughly impressed with their work. I'm pretty particular about my truck and they did an excellent job. The tires Gary recommended are perfect. I ended up ordering the wheels from a cousin back in Florida and figured they would give me a hard time about it. They didn't. Although I ended up getting the tires from them it was a smooth process. Would recommend them for any leveling kit and wheels/tire install. read more

If you're tired of being a faceless number at 4-Wheel Parts, I encourage you to go to JR's. When you go here, you'll get solid service from this family run business. These guys know what they're doing, and if you get a chance to visit with them, and perhaps even share a beer, you'll be a fan too. I had quite a bit of work done on my truck, from suspension work, to new bumpers, lights, and an entirely new stereo system with all the bells and whistles. I am quite happy with the end result, but due some quality control issues, I had to go back several times following the install to get it to this point, hence only 4 out of 5 stars. Still, Stuart was incredibly helpful in getting the issues resolved, and of course it's always a pleasure visiting with Junior. Lastly, the business does not appear to have a sophisticated order and point of sale (POS) system. Most of my work was hand-written until I got the bill, and even then we had to write on it to get more information than just part numbers. I would encourage JR's to adopt a more efficient order system, and better use of digital catalogs so that customers can more easily choose their parts/options. This can also greatly reduce the time the customer has to spend in the store, which is better for the customer, and allows the JR's crew to get back to work as well. read more

This was the second time I've brought my new car to Jr's for window tinting services. They did a good job the first time around, so I decided to go back again. While they did a good job again, this time, after charging me $159 for the service, they placed a Jr's logo underneath the tint on my driver's side door. I did not agree to this, and I certainly did not expect to be sporting Jr's free advertising on my vehicle, especially after paying so much for the service. I'm the type of person who removes the dealership logo and advertising decals and plate cover from my vehicle after purchasing, so needless to say I'm highly dissatisfied with the fact that they did this. I already took 2 hours out of my day to go get my windows tinted, so I'm really not looking forward to going back to get them to remove it, since they'll have to remove the entire window tint to access it. Bottom line: they do a good job, and if anything goes wrong, they'll fix it if you bring it back in, but be sure to tell them you're not paying them to advertise on your vehicle before they begin. read more

Called, drove in and spoke with an installer who was helpful. Made arrangements to return that day to leave my car and confirmed with the installer that that was fine. Arrived 10 minutes after calling to be told by the "management" that the installer was being assigned a priority job outside the store and they could not help me until maybe tomorrow. No accommodation, no re-tasking of other technicians, no apology, nothing. Waste of time to deal with people like this unless you have a multi-thousand $ install. And they wanted $125/hr rate. I looked online and found a shop in Arlington (Mobile Sound Systems) that was friendly, accommodating, and charged only $75/hr install rate. read more

I can't even explain how frustrated and angry they made me. Nothing but broken promises one after another. I paid 1900 up front to fix up car and the end results??? Nothing was connected right, my headlights didn't work, parts were missing, I got a cheap system nothing close to what I paid for, and the worst part is it's not even fixable!!!!!! I don't post reviews much, but I had such a smooth experience at JR's that I just had to say something. About 3-4 months ago, I had a mishap with my SUV and damaged 2 of my custom chrome 26" rims. They were too badly damaged to repair. In an effort to save money, I tried to purchase some used rims from a different local wheel/rim company. I have had nothing but trouble since. I decided to try JR's. Gary was very helpful, and very patient with me. I honestly had a very difficult time deciding what I wanted. After showing me many different options. He showed me a set of rims in a color and style that I had not even thought about at a price point that was even better. I decided to trust his opinion, and it really paid off. My SUV has a great new look, and I really love it. They were even able to replace a broken interior door panel for me. They let me use a loaner car, and were able to get the job done way faster than I anticipated (in just a couple of hours). They are a hard act to follow. They make the experience almost too easy. They have done incredible work on a variety of vehicles for our entire family. From suburbans, to trucks to my current Land Rover, they do it all. One of my suburbans had an entertainment system installed by a local, well known shop in Dallas - it was a disaster - of course JR"s came to the rescue and had it all working in no time. Their customer service is fantastic - even went so far as to give my brother-in-law, who lives in Tennessee, advice on an entertainment system for his vehicle, knowing it would be put in by another installer. JR's is my "go to" shop for everything!! I've had bench seats replaced with Captain's Chairs, Full Entertainment Systems installed, Radio and Speakers, Exterior work for our Ranch Truck, etc. They are my one-stop shop!
