And the hot water is up, the local company is gonna fix the meter spritz immediately, and we are working together to see if I will need help on the heat (any busted spots?) after I try to do certain warming techniques in the house after I had Love Effron prime the boiler. This is even without a visit needed so far (very busy holiday weekend, and a big $-saver for me.) After diagnosing an issue as a contractor error, John Kulk later changed his story to the contractor, claiming it was our fault, which caused significant confusion and delays. John Kulk then suggested we file a claim with our homeowners insurance to correct the negligence of the contractor. The next day, the contractor stated in writing that he had "conferred" with John Kulk and repeated the same question, "perhaps that could go through your homeowners' insurance??" During the service, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. John Kulk said he can't find qualified workers and complained his employees frequently argue in front of customers. We previously had to ban John Kulk's employees from our home due to their unprofessional behavior. We also faced major reliability issues; snow removal was promised but denied immediately when the first snow storm arrived. Given the overpricing and lack of professional conduct, the quality of service here has significantly declined. We do not feel comfortable having John Kulk's Plumbing in our home again. It was a good company but it has run into hard times over the last few years--litigation, dishonest practices, key employee losses and a transition from an experienced father (Rick) who is very ill to an incompetent and inexperienced son (Mike). Four years ago RC Harris installed two new Bosch boilers in my Amenia, NY house. Both failed this year beyond repair. Both were natural gas boilers that should have been converted to propane when installed. Bosch voided the five-year warranty due to RC Harris' improper installation and maintenance. RC Harris refused to accept responsibility leaving our family without hot water and heat for seven weeks this Fall. Cold well-water showers every day. They were entirely unsympathetic and unresponsive--a twelve year relationship and I could not even get a return phone call. They only quoted a full price ($16,600) to replace the system. Ultimately, I hired a new service provider who did the job for much less. Earlier this year, RC Harris gave me a quote to replace one of my hot water tanks. I asked them to install an additional tank. The final price for two new tanks was 3x the price quoted for one tank. And the plumbing of the installation was poorly done , e.g., new lines that just dead end. One of many experiences over the last few years that things had changed radically and a once reliable vendor could no longer be trusted. See attached photos for how they promoted by systems in their marketing yet totally walked away from a loyal customer who had spent thousands on them over 12 years when it became apparent that they had totally failed me. Hopefully, other customers will benefit from my experience by cutting their losses and switching to a trusted and reliable service provider for their heating, plumbing and air conditioning needs.

I always ask a lot of questions to contractors in the house, I want to know how things work. Rick explained why it was always SO hot in our boiler room. When we decided it was time to replace our almost 30 year old furnace there was NO QUESTION that we were going to have Rick do the install. He gave is estimates on a budget and a premium unit, and his prices were very competitive. Rick programed the new system for maximum fuel efficiency. He expects we should use at least a third less fuel going forwards. I can not RECOMMEND this HVAC specialist highly enough!
