Don't let Berryhill Electrical BOOGER up your job! Scott may be a qualified electrician, but his helper boogered up the installation of a ceiling fan in my house. He didn't secure the electrical box to a ceiling joist which allowed the fan to be tilted and not running level. Scott did the wiring and installation of a switch to control the fan. He boogered up installation of the new switch box by cutting the hole in the drywall to big and then mounted the switch box too deep in the wall. Finally, a reputable electrical contractor! Scott and his team did some work at my home and did a phenomenal job. They upgraded my main panel from 100A to 200A, added a second panel for my EV charger and rewired the receptacles in my home to add grounds (I have a 1950's vintage home that was not grounded). They also installed some new receptacles around the house, in my garage (for the EV charger and a few extra for casual use) and in my backyard. I had received many quotes, that were all in the same approximate price range, however, the Berryhill quote was the most complete and professionally done. It was clear on the quote what exactly would be done and Scott was patient with us as we decided exactly what we wanted to do and could afford. There was quite a bit of work that needed to be done given the vintage of the house as well as what we wanted done. Scott and his team always showed up promptly as scheduled, worked quickly and efficiently, and always cleaned up after themselves. Scott had to deal with a lot of complexities around our separate electric vehicle meter setup, and spent a lot of time with Edison and the City of Orange getting to a solution - probably more than he bargained for - but kept a great attitude the whole time. It is really a shame to only give them 5 stars. They are so much better than any contractors I have worked with in the past. The are on time, keep me notified of what is going on, do exceptional electrical work and are nice to work with. Scott is always even tempered and gives you great confidence in his ability to get the job done right the first time with a minimum of fuss. I had them out twice. Scott and his team are nice guys but it was a less than ideal experience for us overall. Had high hopes for our experience with Berryhill. Things started off great. Scott was easygoing, honest, and his prices were fair. Scott and his crew were nice and I felt like we got along well. His work was decent, but there were wire clippings and messes left each day that were always ending up in our infant's and dog's mouths. Texture overspray from patching the walls was all over our stuff because it wasn't covered well enough. Things started to really go downhill when his work didn't pass inspection and he was required to redo some of his work. His attitude took a dive, and any time my wife or I addressed any issues (with work being incomplete, needing more clarification because of poor communication, etc.) it was like pulling teeth. Things ended with materials left in my yard that he should've disposed of and a hole in my wall that was supposed to be covered with a white plate. When I asked him to remove the materials and plate the wall he told me they had already done more than they should've and I should go buy a plate from Home Depot. Scott's wife ended up contacting me to try and fix things but at that point we had no interest in dealing with him any further. read more
