Great food, they were unfortunately out of the things we initially tried to order but otherwise had backup options. My husband got the bbq but wasn't a fan of the miso fish. I had the jpot with brisket and was thrilled. Kids under 7 eat free for a limited time so kiddo just kind of picked off us. Our server Nichole was very sweet and helpful with explaining everything. The restaurant itself is very nice too. Only thing I wish I would've gotten is more options at the veggie bar but there was still a good selection.

I really believe this is the best BBQ place around, we drove all the way from Cibolo to visit some friends and this is the place they suggested. Very vast menu. Strawberry lemonade was so good and kids eat free under 7. Also open flame and that's neat as well.

"There was fire. There were meats. There was a woman watching me pretend I knew what I was doing." If you'd told the me 20 years ago that I'd be paying top dollar to cook my own dinner over open flame and dunk raw meat into a pot of spicy lava water, I would've laughed so hard I'd spill my pint. But here we are--glorious Sunday, 2025--and I'm fully locked in to the JPOT lifestyle. Walked in with zero clue and a hot date, which meant I had to look like a seasoned grill master slash broth wizard. Easier said than done, mate. I had a raw filet mignon searing while ramen boiled beside it, and I'm trying to pretend that juggling all of this is just my average Sunday. There were sauces I couldn't pronounce, a bar of mystery greens, and tongs being passed like sacred artifacts. And you know what? I left full. I left entertained. I left proud. JPOT isn't just dinner--it's an event. A bit chaotic, a bit primal, a bit like if a hibachi grill and a sauna had a delicious baby. Would I go back? Yeah. I'd bring gloves, an appetite, and maybe a laminated cheat sheet. But I'm game. 5 stars. Would hot pot again.

Worst hotpot experience I've had in San Antonio. Fish smelled expired, selection wasn't great. Price for lunch vs dinner hinges on two meat options, neither of which was available, yet they still charged dinner price. My shadow will never darken this restaurants door again. Service was ok, inside looks nice.

First timers here!!!! Adjusting from a similar place, it exceeded my expectations! Default grill is the one with holes, but if you want the flat ones - ASK! The portions are in abundance! You won't leave hungry! I love the options at the ready cooked food at the Buffett! They had fried rice, pot stickers, shrimp tempura, wings, fruit, and desserts! Our server Hussein was awesome! He wore two hats - bartender and server! Very attentive AND informative! Ambiance is IG worthy! I like the coziness and private tables! Biggest plus - I love close by! Definitely coming back!

We came here about 2 weeks ago and had a good experience. Waiters were very informative since it was our first time dining in, they went through the whole menu & how everything works. They give you A LOT OF FOOD if you choose the grill, so be mindful of that. Go in with an appetite & be ready to chow down. Food: 9/10 fried rice was okay lol

Food: delicious, quality is superb. Flavor is good, loved the marinated chicken thighs. Meat was tender. Service: Gabriel was helpful from start to finish. Explained to my husband how everything worked. Recommended sauces to try, and even made a yummy passion fruit mojito (made with sake) so delicious. Ambiance: perfect for groups and date night. It gorgeous on the inside. The mural when you first walk in is beautiful.

Overall, the experience was really fun. They have the Jpot AND BBQ option however you cannot do both if you are with multiple people. I would like for them to redesign the tables because there was no legroom for us. Besides that they give great portions and have a lot of options when it comes to the seasonings and sauces. They also have a lot of appetizers and some dessert options. I loved the music they played, and everyone was very welcoming. They have all types of meats as well with different starches. I mostly ate seafood. Lastly, the restroom was really clean. The only reason why I didn't give them five stars is due to the price, not reflecting the quality. I feel like they could do a better job of maintaining the salad/sauces/appetizer bar area.

But my son, bless his heart, wasn't exposed to Officer Whats-his-face explaining to a class of fifth graders how deviously addictive substances like heroin, crack, and hot pot can be. So my kid has had a habit for about three or four years now. Chinese hot-pot barely tempts me these days; I don't need a numb mouth like that. Mongolian...that level of sodium was fine in my twenties, I guess. Shabu proper - served with ponzu and sesame sauce by some fella wearing a headband starts to get tempting. But I'm doing well this year, I've only flown to LA's Japantown for my fix once. And honestly, this is not that anyway. Most of these restaurants, where they expect me to boil my own dinner, are pretty easy to wean off of. I mean, seriously, how lazy can a restaurant owner be. Here's some raw meat, cook it yourself, folks? Unfortunately, Wild Japanese's offering is more akin to the most delicious of the hot pots. Singaporean or Malaysian style, with a gigantic assortment of sauces and a flavorful selection of broths, and the best soup you've ever had waiting for you at the end of your meal. And I hope that helps explain why when we go two weeks without a visit, my son starts to get really antsy and sees bugs crawling under his skin, just like Officer What's-His-Face said he would. I think originally you could get just not-shabu; nowadays, they make you pair the hot pot with some inferior food. We've tried the sushi a few times. That was a huge mistake. The Korean BBQ pairs well, it's just a lot of effort, and not a lot of soup, so we grill a token steak or two but otherwise stick to not-shabu. Anyway, that's a short entomology of hot pots throughout the world, excluding fondue, according to my tummy. I could probably stop anytime if I really wanted. Eating this delicious not-shabu. But for my son's sake, I go.

We came one Valentine's Day 2026 and the server gave me a rose at the end of the meal. Compared to other places they are very reasonably priced, with lots of broth options for the hotpot and freshly made sushi. The Korean BBQ knocks your socks off as well, especially with the premium items.

I used Doordash, which I usually have pretty good luck with, especially when my son orders it through his own account. After waiting more than twenty minutes after the delivery time, I got a text from the dasher telling me to cancel the order. My son had already told me about that scam. You go into the app and get the support folks to cancel it, or it is called "customer initiated" and you lose your refund. Anyway, Doordash had the order redone and delivered with a new driver. Let's get to Sichuan Garden. I ordered from here because they had some "non- standard" offerings. I lived in Taiwan a while back and upon return to the US never acquired a taste for the supposedly authentic Americanized dishes. I ordered stir fried pork tripe and pork intestines in spicy chili sauce. I got a complimentary side of fried rice with each of them. I also ordered beef lomein for my son and 4 eggrolls. I tasted the lomein, and it was just okay. I have definitely had better. The egg rolls were "delivery soggy" but tasted fantastic. Can't complain there. The trip and intestine dishes were both delicious. I could eat them every day for the rest of my life and be satisfied. The fried rice, though, was awful. I used it the next day to make a much more improved version at home. All in all, I like the food from Sichuan Garden. I am anxious to go there and dine in. There are some other "non-standard" items I want to try.

The plates are a bit small (I am a light eater and still found them not very big for the price) not ridiculously small, but on the smaller side.
