Great food, they were unfortunately out of the things we initially tried to order but otherwise had backup options. My husband got the bbq but wasn't a fan of the miso fish. I had the jpot with brisket and was thrilled. Kids under 7 eat free for a limited time so kiddo just kind of picked off us. Our server Nichole was very sweet and helpful with explaining everything. The restaurant itself is very nice too. Only thing I wish I would've gotten is more options at the veggie bar but there was still a good selection.

I really believe this is the best BBQ place around, we drove all the way from Cibolo to visit some friends and this is the place they suggested. Very vast menu. Strawberry lemonade was so good and kids eat free under 7. Also open flame and that's neat as well.

"There was fire. There were meats. There was a woman watching me pretend I knew what I was doing." If you'd told the me 20 years ago that I'd be paying top dollar to cook my own dinner over open flame and dunk raw meat into a pot of spicy lava water, I would've laughed so hard I'd spill my pint. But here we are--glorious Sunday, 2025--and I'm fully locked in to the JPOT lifestyle. Walked in with zero clue and a hot date, which meant I had to look like a seasoned grill master slash broth wizard. Easier said than done, mate. I had a raw filet mignon searing while ramen boiled beside it, and I'm trying to pretend that juggling all of this is just my average Sunday. There were sauces I couldn't pronounce, a bar of mystery greens, and tongs being passed like sacred artifacts. And you know what? I left full. I left entertained. I left proud. JPOT isn't just dinner--it's an event. A bit chaotic, a bit primal, a bit like if a hibachi grill and a sauna had a delicious baby. Would I go back? Yeah. I'd bring gloves, an appetite, and maybe a laminated cheat sheet. But I'm game. 5 stars. Would hot pot again.

First timers here!!!! Adjusting from a similar place, it exceeded my expectations! Default grill is the one with holes, but if you want the flat ones - ASK! The portions are in abundance! You won't leave hungry! I love the options at the ready cooked food at the Buffett! They had fried rice, pot stickers, shrimp tempura, wings, fruit, and desserts! Our server Hussein was awesome! He wore two hats - bartender and server! Very attentive AND informative! Ambiance is IG worthy! I like the coziness and private tables! Biggest plus - I love close by! Definitely coming back!

We came here about 2 weeks ago and had a good experience. Waiters were very informative since it was our first time dining in, they went through the whole menu & how everything works. They give you A LOT OF FOOD if you choose the grill, so be mindful of that. Go in with an appetite & be ready to chow down. Food: 9/10 fried rice was okay lol

Food: delicious, quality is superb. Flavor is good, loved the marinated chicken thighs. Meat was tender. Service: Gabriel was helpful from start to finish. Explained to my husband how everything worked. Recommended sauces to try, and even made a yummy passion fruit mojito (made with sake) so delicious. Ambiance: perfect for groups and date night. It gorgeous on the inside. The mural when you first walk in is beautiful.

Overall, the experience was really fun. They have the Jpot AND BBQ option however you cannot do both if you are with multiple people. I would like for them to redesign the tables because there was no legroom for us. Besides that they give great portions and have a lot of options when it comes to the seasonings and sauces. They also have a lot of appetizers and some dessert options. I loved the music they played, and everyone was very welcoming. They have all types of meats as well with different starches. I mostly ate seafood. Lastly, the restroom was really clean. The only reason why I didn't give them five stars is due to the price, not reflecting the quality. I feel like they could do a better job of maintaining the salad/sauces/appetizer bar area.

We were charged premium holiday pricing, yet arrived to find an empty vegetable bar, no kimchi, and no sliced chicken available. This was especially disappointing given that multiple prior reviews mention frequent item shortages at this location. I chose to stay and give the restaurant a chance after expressing my dissatisfaction, but unfortunately the experience only declined from there. I left feeling lethargic (due to poor food quality- veggies with black spots, meat not marinated etc.), uncomfortable, and frustrated that I had paid such a high price for such poor quality and service. The guests I brought with me also commented that the meat we grilled lacked any seasoning or marinade and required additional salt to be palatable. Overall, the experience was embarrassing. I have visited several Jpot and kpot experiences, and this was by far the worst experience. Many in our party ended up filling up on fried sides, oranges, and pre packed desserts due to the lack of quality options. We will not be returning.

I enjoyed going to Jpot BBQ. They had a good selection of food for the hot pot and the BBQ. I liked that it was smoky or smelled like grease like their competitors. While I enjoyed the hot pot, barbecue, and the mini "buffet" I'm giving it 4 stars. This might sound crazy but there was a lot of meat provided for the BBQ; it was almost too much. I wish there were bigger servings of meat for the hot pot and vegetables, mushrooms, and noodles for both. I was also disappointed in the short ribs because there wasn't much seasoning. I will return for hot pot in the future and skip the BBQ.

My favorite bbq spot! The meats and hot bar are fresh. Always leave satisfied. Although I will say it's sad seeing so much wear and tear, this place is too new! The booth we sat in was basically falling apart. Other than the cosmetics, it's great and staff is friendly.

Had an amazing fun filled first time experience! LOTS of food making it well worth your $$$ spent. Service was so helpful and answered all of our questions. Drinks were a great plus!

Out of 7 items on a weekend! 2nd recent visit that they have been out of the basics, like Ribs for instance. This time we left cause we didn't have guests with us. This place has really went down hill. Food quality has remained good, but the management is just not doing their job. Out of 7 items! On a weekend!! Poor management., do better Jpot or move to Alamo Ranch with all the other whatever restaurants.

1 Star - Misleading Practices, Contradictory Rules, and Terrible Management…read more This was a very bad experience entirely because of the manager. We clearly told the staff this was our first time visiting, yet no one properly explained the rules, especially regarding over-ordering and leftover charges. When we questioned the extra charges, the manager repeatedly said he "had to stick to the rules" -- rules that were never explained to us. What makes this even worse is that the menu itself states you can't order more than two items per person, yet the staff did not follow that rule. Instead, excessive amounts of food were brought to our table, including full adult-sized portions for kids, and then we were charged for the leftovers. This felt intentional and misleading, clearly designed to overcharge customers. The biggest issue was the contradictory explanation about kids' pricing. The manager told us kids are half price because they don't eat as much as adults, yet at the same time insisted kids must receive full adult portions because they "can't tell us how much to order" and that it would be "rude" to do so. When questioned how that makes any sense, he had no explanation. To make matters worse, the kids' age rule kept changing -- first it was 13 and under, then suddenly 12 and under. Completely inconsistent and unprofessional. When we tried to have a reasonable conversation, the manager was rude, dismissive, and refused to accommodate us in any way. We told him we would be leaving a bad review due to the poor management and unfair practices, and he openly said he was "okay with that." He chose to charge us $30 for leftover food instead of resolving the issue, fully accepting a bad review and leaving his own waitstaff without a tip because of his behavior. No transparency. No accountability. No customer service. Families should be extremely cautious. We will not be returning.

The General Taos has some spice which is nice but ultimately it taste like it's cooked in old oil and is sickly sweet until the heat kicks in. And the fried rice is fine...I prefer pork fried rice which wasn't an option from online... I don't know if I would bother giving this place another chance or not. The restaurant is small, but spacious and had a very open and welcoming feel. We were immediately seated and given time to explore the menu. We ordered the salt and pepper fish, kung pow chicken, and tofu with vegetables, bbq buns, spring rolls, and pork dumplings. The salt and pepper fish. You don't need anything else else. This was arguably the best fish I've ever had. It was perfectly seasoned, light, and crispy and was accompanied by some tender cilantro leaves and stems. I don't know what magic spell they use, but I'll never order anything else. I'm often a creature of habit with my orders and stick to what I know I'll like, but this surpassed my expectations. The pork dumplings were also incredible. It packed so much flavor and moisture in a small bite. The bbq pork buns were pillowy soft with a hint of sweetness and packed full of flavor and tender bbq pork. The spring rolls were steamy hot and crispy. Not as memorable as the other starters, but solid. The kung pow chicken was excellent. It had a nice kick and was cooked perfectly with just enough sauce. The tofu veggies were good (but even better the next day). The tofu was the right texture and the veggies were crisp and seasoned well. The friendly staff, the delicious food, and the chill atmosphere made for a wonderful pre holiday lunch!
