Reluctant to give even one star, but yelp doesn't give you a choice of no stars. Don't waste your time or money. I am a fan of supporting local businesses in JP, so I decided to take a friend to J Pizzle for lunch. The server was rude and seemed to spend most of her time avoiding customers and work. She had to be called over to the table for menus and then again for the check, despite it being obvious that we had finished our meal. Always being one who is willing to give a second chance I returned this morning with another friend at about 7:00. There was a different server who was, if anything, more rude than the previous server. My friend ordered the country style fried chicken or pork only to be told they only had chicken. After placing the order in the fryer, the cook left the remaining raw chicken in a container above the fryer, definitely not serve safe approved. When the server brought his order out, about 5 minutes after my meal was served, they hadn't even buttered the toast, and his "scrambled" eggs were more like chopped up fried eggs. I got a western omelet with a side of bacon. I didn't think it was possible to slice bacon that thin. All in all, the new J Pizzle is a waste of time and money. There are too many good restaurants in JP to enjoy that value your business. read more

I like to try new establishments in my neighborhood as I think it is important to support local businesses. I went by today to check them out. BIG MISTAKE, If you like being ignored then come on over. I was initially impressed by their large and varied menu. I ordered the steak tips which sounded very good. I noticed that there seemed to be some photo shoot going on as there was a photographer taking photos of different dishes that the cooks were producing. I waited 20" and then the waitress came by and told me they were out of steak tips. I was the ONLY customer there but it took them 20" to realize there were no steak tips. I ordered a vegetable calzone instead. Another 15" went by and it was pretty obvious that the only meals being produced were the ones being used for the photo shoot and I was being totally ignored. I asked if my meal was coming and I saw the waitress go to the cook and show him the slip with my order on it. She came back and said "oops". I had enough of this shoddy customer service. There is nothing wrong with a business trying to take photos to promote themselves but when there are customers in the establishment then the customers come first. I think 35" of wait time when I was the only customer was an indication to me that customers are not a priority here. Maybe the food is good but I would not know. I really wanted to support a new business but this was NO WAY to treat a customer. Finally , there was no hand soap in the restroom. I hope the management puts customers first in the future but I won't go back. I have had better service at MacDonald's. read more

In fairness, I wasn't all that kind to the Robinwood after they ditched their first diner menu, went "fusion" and then settled on Sysco. Unfortunately, after a few tries here, I don't think J-Pizzle is an improvement. The extra star is for service, which was outstanding. However, the sprawling diner menu should only be out if you can both A) Make the items on it (I've swung and missed on at least three menu items since they opened this summer) and B) Occasionally customize those items. I don't know if the back of the house is getting all the help and resources it needs to support this menu, but it doesn't do the place any favors to have items you just don't make and changes the staff just can't handle. I gave up on "brunch" in this neighborhood sometime around the time the line for the old Centre Street Cafe started stretching to JP Licks, but this place's hit-or-miss menu, generic interior, and stubborn refusal to be the diner, luncheonette, or spa it wants to be has made it unlikely that I'll return to this cursed storefront. Maybe it's time to walk the extra blocks to Sorella's or The Haven. read more

So if I wrote this review before I tried 2 other local breakfast places probably 3 star but after those on a sliding scale this place was noticeably better. Food is average some things better than others we had 2 different omeletes western and plain omelette with cheese could of used some more seasoning but at least had some other felt like season foreign concept. Pancakes for my son I tried them okay plus they were nice put some powder sugar on them for him. Staff really nice a little unattentive their table assignment is rotated i.e. as people come in they assign rather than sections waiter was all over restaurant so missed when my coffee went empty. read more

I've enjoyed everything I've ordered here. My boyfriend and I have had breakfast a few times in the last few months. The eggs Florentine was great, as are the pancakes bacon and eggs. I love the options on the menu and I'm looking forward to trying more! read more

This place has the best breakfast in Boston. Prices are fair and food is just phenomenal. I had the Bean Town Benny and I must say, it was the best eggs Benedict I've ever had. They have a variety of things to choose from on their menu. read more

Dont waste your time. I had to prk 2 blocks away no parking in the area. The fod sucks. I had the charrizo omlet and I could smell the unfreshness of the the mean. I sacn the menue they gave me and it said the omlette was $12.95 for the omlette with charizzo spinach tomatoes and fetta cheese. and it was supposed to come with toast and home fries. how ever when i got the bill they added 99 cent for cheese 99 cent for tomato 99 cent for spinach 1. 50 for meat and 1.99 for the toast. when I complained they bought out their paper menue . in other words you scan a cheaper menue from another resteraunt and they hit you with their higher prices. what didner doesnt give free toast and home fries with the meal?. The tables were very sticky even after they wiped them of. the cover of my book got stuck to the table and almost took off the wording. The waitress had an attidude because i asked her for buttter for my toast. who gives toast with no butter. I had a to go order of pancakes and i specifically aske for syurp and butter. she for got to put butter in the bag. and the bill came to $32.000 I do i pay 32.00 for panncakes and omlet and ornage juice? JUST THE STICKY TABLE ALONE AND THE RUDE ATTIDUDE IS ENOUGH TO STAY AWAY. read more

Came here for breakfast. Quiet at 9:30 on a Friday morning and had great quick and friendly service. My wife and I each got omelettes. Both were quite good. Toast was a little soft even when dry but the home fries were really good. Quite inexpensive for a diner breakfast at around $10 per person. read more

What a lovely breakfast we had here! Elijah, our host, talked us through the new menu, made us fresh squeezed orange juice to die for, and made sure we had a pleasant meal. The eggs florentine and breakfast taquitos were a big hit with us. If you loved this place as the Robinwood, the original menu is still available, plus a small collection of new dishes. Though we miss Vic a lot, we like the new staff. The new decor, while subtle, is pleasant and creative. Overall, a winning combination and the best breakfast in JP. read more
