We explained this clearly over the phone and even noted that the burners could be lit manually. When the repairman arrived, he simply confirmed what we had already described, made no attempt to diagnose or repair the problem, and charged $106 for a so-called "diagnostic visit." He then told us the only solution was to replace the entire cooktop for $4,900 -- an absurd suggestion. We later contacted Appliance Care Expert, who quickly and professionally replaced two burners for only $475, and the cooktop now works perfectly. Northeast Appliances provided no real service, only a high-pressure upsell and a pointless fee. Very disappointing experience -- I would never use or recommend them.

Said there was nothing to indicate an oil leak. Throughout the week, the washer still smells of gear oil, and on Saturday morning my husband turned the washing machine on its side, unscrewed a cover, and there is gear oil leaking out from the bottom. The agitator did not need to come off; nothing would be visible. Parts can only be accessed from the bottom of the machine. Sent photos and a text to Handler, and they thanked me for the update and said nothing else. The woman who answered the phone had all the passion and friendliness of a Kmart cashier. She obviously hated her job and it was evident in her voice. She was completely condescending when I asked her a number of questions. She kept insisting that I tell her whether I wanted "an estimate" or a "service call". When I asked what the difference was, she acted as if I must be an idiot for asking such a question. After asking her to explain several times, and her huffing and puffing, she managed to communicate that one involved a fee and another one didn't. I told her that I was ok to pay for the estimate since I was asking for a review of my electrical system. She then proceeded to ask me a series of other administrative questions and, again, when I asked for clarification, it was as if she huffed and puffed. I mean, as someone whose JOB it is to answer the phone, she sure was crap at it. She was seriously from the Kmart school of communication. Really, a Holiday card is a GREAT WAY to generate new business, guys, but if you have these types of people answering the phone and dealing with customers....all the cards in the world are never gonna help you grow your business.
