The decor consists of signs from past local businesses all over the walls and ceiling...the Coast-To-Coast sign has a special connection for me as my Grandmother worked there when I was a kid. We started off with the Loaded Tater Tots that were pretty good but could have been really good had the cheese been melted and the bacon chopped up into smaller pieces...the Tots themselves were done very well. The star of the dinner was the awesome Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. A crispy yet lightly breaded tenderloin cooked perfectly...it's disappointing to get overcooked tenderloins as they become very tough...these folks got the timing down! Add on any of the pickles, onions, lettuce, and tomato served alongside to your taste and you've got a great sandwich! We'll definitely be back again!

My Simply Savory crepe (with turkey bacon on top) stripped away many of the toppings they offer which let me concentrate on just how good the core crepe was. I must say that this was most unfortunate because the food was very ordinary. The General Patton Chicken's chicken was okay, but far too dry to hold up with in the fried rice that surrounded it. Not a lot to say about the egg rolls either, and my wife persevered through a rather pedestrian lo mein dish. Obviously, Patton Diner was not at the height of its powers on this evening due to the very limited menu. This does leave hope that a more traditional menu would live up to its strong reputation.

It's a small town so that kind of figures but it made us feel out of place. The coffee shop is in the back and there's a little boutique in the front. I went up to place my order and that girl was nice, but no one was super helpful, especially because my mom was looking for a certain kind of drink. I had to do some digging myself. The staff was all extremely friendly and helpful and the vibe was relaxed even with most of the tables occupied. There's no outdoor seating as it's basically a corrugated barn on the outside so no dogs allowed. We stopped in on a road trip for some pie and it didn't disappoint! I'm a fan of raisins and chess pie so you know I had to try their raisin pie with a mountain of meringue. It was exactly what you'd expect and I recommend splitting a slice between 2-3 people since it's so decadent. The rhubarb fluff pie was an unexpected treat. We got the last slice and it was the best part of a midwestern church basement "salad". The frosting was incredibly dense, almost butter, so that made it texturally hard to eat. I highly recommend stopping in for food or even just some pie to go.

She said the coleslaw was "nothing to write home about" but that the cowboy beans were really good. Our waitress and the rest of the staff were amazing. I loved that they had jello as a side dish. The neighboring table got it and the day's variety was blue! :) It came with a dollop of whipped cream and it made me want to order it. Hot Cinnamon Roll Latte (This tasted nearly identical to a warm, gooey, cinnamon roll! Be warned - it is a very sweet beverage. Rating = 7.7/10). Iced Hazelnut Latte (YES! This is basically almost as good as it gets when it comes to a latte. Absolutely scrumdidilyumptious. Rating = 9/10). Service: The service here could not have been better! Our barista's name was Brianna, and she had a phenomenal attitude. She looked excited to help us out and appears to love her job. Her passion for her job truly shined through during our time in the shop. Ambiance: As mentioned above, this review is based on our visit to the First Street location in Cedar Falls. It has a much different vibe than the College Hill location. The First Street location is not quite as "homey" as the College Hill cafe and has more of a coffee chain feel (not as much unique character that I typically enjoy with local coffee brands). The College Hill location, on the other hand, has much more personality. It is an excellent place to get some work done, read a book, or meet up with friends! All in all - we undoubtedly had a 5-star experience at Sidecar this past weekend. Excellent food and drink and some of the best service we've received in a while!

I enjoyed the drink I ordered, but heaven's sakes could it be ANY more expensive!!!! I was just trying a new place and now almost regret it. Oh, and when I tried to order some food off the menu they didn't have any of the ingredients for what I wanted. Only some of the spicy stuff I cannot eat. The prices are outrageous, the ambiance is college dorm girly at best and it feels as if the employees are watching and judging you.
