They serve…read moreup meatloaf anyway you want it and today I had the KingDaddy: The MeatLoaf Sandwich Plate!!! Oh my gosh, all I could do, when it came out, was laugh since it was SOOOO much food on one plate. They take a meatloaf sandwich and then throw a gallon of mash potatoes and gravy on top and this thing was just a sight to behold. It was almost too pretty to eat. It was so good too. Beat meatloaf sandwich I have EVER had! Just like before everyone there is amazing (Thanks Ashley for amazing service) and thank you to the kitchen staff for such amazing food every-time we stop by while in town for work.

The staff was all extremely friendly and helpful and the vibe was relaxed even with most of the tables occupied. There's no outdoor seating as it's basically a corrugated barn on the outside so no dogs allowed. We stopped in on a road trip for some pie and it didn't disappoint! I'm a fan of raisins and chess pie so you know I had to try their raisin pie with a mountain of meringue. It was exactly what you'd expect and I recommend splitting a slice between 2-3 people since it's so decadent. The rhubarb fluff pie was an unexpected treat. We got the last slice and it was the best part of a midwestern church basement "salad". The frosting was incredibly dense, almost butter, so that made it texturally hard to eat. I highly recommend stopping in for food or even just some pie to go.

Furthermore, they are the perfect size, not too fat or too thin. On this visit I had a BLT which is exactly what I was craving, crispy bacon and fresh crunchy lettuce and juicy tomatoes. Yum! Yum! The ambiance is exactly what you would expect in a rural Midwestern town. It is tastefully decorated, clean, and comfortable. The service is fast and the staff is friendly. You will feel like friends when you walk out the door.

So the Good, the Bad, and the Sickening:…read more The food was good once we got it. The service was not so great. The server did only what she needed to do, take the order, bring the food, bring the bill. No welcome, no thank you, no have a good night, no telling us the specials, no soda refills. Even when people came for take out she just stood at the counter staring at them, waiting for them to talk first, never said hello, never said thank you, just got their food and pushed it to them. The Sickening: We were seated where we could see the pick up counter and salad bar. Near the end of the night the server was filling up the salad bar. She was using her BARE HANDS to fill the containers. And then it really got gross... she used her TEETH to tear open a bag of hard-boiled eggs... um thanks for getting your mouth juice on the top of the bag and every egg that passes through the opening. I don't 100% blame the server for lack of food safety knowledge; management is responsible for training front & back of the house employees on food safety, there was no other employee besides the server (and cook) so they obviously just don't care, nor can they seem to afford a simple pair of scissors to cut open bags.
