This tiny diner is fantastic. You wait in line, then seat yourself at the next possible table (they also have a few counter stools). There's an open counter with the grill behind, and the guy cooking was super busy when we were there on a Saturday for brunch. Got up early on Saturday and just beat the rush. This is the cutest diner and the food is very good. The pancakes are not just as big as a plate, they are as big as a oval platter. The syrup comes out hot. One of the few places that provides enough butter as well. The star of the show was the corn beef hash fried crispy and just delicious. Definitely come here. Service was excellent with lots of water and coffee refills. I made a mistake ordering and they were so friendly and accommodating. read more

Driving through northern Iowa this morning and used Yelp to find a good breakfast stop. The diner is small but clean and obviously very popular! Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. We enjoyed eggs 2 ways, grits, chicken fried steak, toast and a REAL sausage patty! read more

Tiny old school diner with counter and booth seating. Service was good. Diet Pepsi products. Portions are huge. 2-3 people could share one pancake. Flavor of the pancake was good as was texture but they serve it with watered down syrup. It's the consistency of coffee, so runny which took away from the pancake. Ham was good. Decided to do breakfast here today and the food that we received today was horrible and when I expressed my concern to the server, she did not offer to remake our omelette and I truly believe because I said my wife and I are going to share our brunch. They gave us less. This is so unfair. We spend money here all the time as well as other people in our community and family members as well but to be treated as if we are not valued as customers doesn't sit well with me. Went in early for breakfast. Jane, our waitress a riot. We had the best time talking and laughing. Morg's is the local hangout. It was owned for years by a gentleman who when he hit in his 80's he sold Morg's to his employee's. Our breakfast, Eggs, bacon toast were on point. The local coffee they serve wasn't my favorite. We found this restaurant on Yelp and we have to agree that the positive reviews were right on. The restaurant was filled with people. We sat at the bar, engaged in conversation with the employees and other diners. We ordered pancakes, eggs and bacon. Warning! The pancakes are HUGE! Everything was better than delicious. I like trying local restaurants with character and this seemed like a great choice. The atmosphere was perfect. Because of covid, the counter was replaced with a couple of two seater tables instead of counter stools, which is where we sat. Diners are usually quick in and quick out. We got there right at noon and we waited about 10 min for a table. The parking lot was full and we learned that if it was full, all tables are taken. Not sure what was going on but it took at least 45 min to get our food. We ordered one piece of French toast, hashbrowns, and a bacon cheese burger. There are prob only 12 tables on the whole place. It took waaaayyyyy too long. We could see the grill area from our table so truly not sure why it took so long. Food was good. The hashbrowns were HUGE and nice and crispy. Our waitress was friendly. Atmosphere was awesome so gave a little higher rating but I hope they figure out the cooking times soon. read more

When you come to morgs be sure to come hungry. Big potions of great food, and a look at how a lunch place looked in the 60s . The place still looks the same. Ok! If you are hungry??? Go to Morgs. I do not know the history, but have a feeling it is a staple of the downtown Waterloo. It is a one or two rows of tables and chairs and the kitchen. Pretty much something out of a western/farming diner in a movie. Oh yes it could be in a National Lampoon Vacation movie as well. Anyhow I had an omelette and hasbrowns. If I recall, the business has been in operation since 1960. The establishment is dated, small and is packed for breakfast - get there early. Limited parking beside building , street parking available too. The food was good, just what I was hoping/ expecting. The serving size (hash browns) was more than expected.
