We have been super busy lately and don't live that close to the dealership. Dealership is in Manassas and we live in Virginia Beach. Not only did they negotiate on an already good price, they delivered! The process was absolutely the best experience that I have had making a car purchase. quote for service (oil change and tire rotation) was $92. when I went to pickup my vehicle and pay, they wanted to charge me $135. Their quote for an oil change did not include oil or an oil filter. they tried to say there was no way for them to know ahead of time what filter or how much oil it would need. It's a 2026 GMC Terrain, not to mention a quick google search could turn up that info. it's just terrible business to under estimate by leaving parts off, then spring a bill that is 50% more expensive than the quote. they tried to defend this indefensible practice. I'll not be returning. also asked them to fix the infotament system. it stopped performing a function. they said they had fixed it by updating the software. they did not, the reinstalled the old software and the problem persists. read more

Amazing communication from the service advisors , they give you the option to text if you're busy! I love the valet service. They come with a loaner vehicle to my house or anywhere I'm located within 30 miles from the dealership location! Yes, there were times when they came to my work! Wonderful service! They bring the loaner and swap the vehicle with you, take your car back to the shop to get it done for you! You just have to take care of their loaner, you're responsible for it, no pets , no smoking, and you have to replenish the gas, or it's $6 per gallon! Yes, as you heard it, $6 per gallon, so don't mess with that! They will also swap the car back with you once they are done. I rarely go to the dealership since they started this service but if you have to go, it's very nice and clean. They will provide water and coffee. There is a TV and free wifi. Also, there is room for business where you can sit with your laptop and work, and if you're the only person, you can shut the glass door and do business calls if you have to. Watch out for coupons in the mail or online. By the way, they have the best deal on tires, and they will price match pretty much, but of course, with terms and conditions and you will never find anyone who will loan you a vehicle while they are replacing your tires and deliver it to you! All the advisors are amazing, and the service manager is a very respectful and helpful guy! Use them, trust them, and as I always say in my reviews, don't forget to pray for me ;) read more

Purchased a Honda at Joyce Coons's Honda and I brought my truck to do maintenance at Joyce Coons GMC in Manassas next to 66. All the experiences were perfect. I dropped my Cadillac ESV 2019 ---expecting a small repair but in the end I needed tires, brakes, Pinion and shocks---and the battery that was working perfectly when I dropped it off $7000-- it was frustrating but the service guy was genuine honest and I believe it was all necessary needed. I wasn't happy, but it was legitimate. Drop my wife to pay the $7000+ bill---was told they charge a 3% fee for credit card. Was very upset as this is not customary and was never disclosed. Even if it was disclosed, I don't think it's right---I'm just a bit taken back with all the advertising Joyce does and it really is a terrific product. The 3% processing fee or tax ruined, the reputation and my future business-- seems like a kick in the gut given the market. read more

Avoid these guys if possible. Wife and I went in to look at a vehicle they had advertised, and turned out it didn't have all the features we were looking for. When we tried to leave the manager offered to find us one at another dealer that fit our needs. We found a model and agreed on an out the door price. Next day Manager calls and says it's too expensive to transfer and can't give us that price. He didn't even attempt to discuss a new price nor another vehicle. Overall the experience was very high pressure and they wouldn't take no for an answer. I've had my car repaired at this location once or twice, the third time was not a charm. While I appreciate the loaner that was provided, it was filthy. Stained seats, interior wasn't clean and it appeared not to have been vacuumed. I needed brakes, without the rotors in the front and was told that they could refinish my rotors on the front and rear for $800. Upon calling another GMC dealer, I was informed that the cost was substantially cheaper. Upon arrival to pick up my vehicle, Nick (my service person) asked if there was anything they could do to help. While I appreciated his inquiry, that should have been discussed prior to my arrival. He offered Sunbit financing, without asking why I didn't want to move forward with the service. I guess he thought cost was the only issue, when in fact I want the best price and service the first time. Not a horrible place, but it's my last visit. read more

So their recommendation was to start replacing cables and parts. We agreed to replace one of the cables and another charge, but when we retrieved our vehicle, the StabiliTrak warning was still popping up on the screen, and JK recommended replacing more cables. I googled StabiliTrak warning for Chevy and GMC vehicles and found it WAS A COMMON ISSUE. I found Chevy and GMC owner's Facebook groups where other owners recommended to get the battery tested. I took my Traverse to Autozone to have the battery checked. Guess what? The battery needed to be replaced. So I had the battery replaced at a different auto mechanic establishment. Guess what? The StabiliTrak warning stopped showing on our vehicle's screen. So I'm curious JK, when you tell the consumers your mechanics will conduct an inspection, do you skip over the battery? read more

Decide to bring my GMC 3500 Truck in for regular service and to have two tires replaced. I made an appointment for 8 AM Saturday May 27, 2023 and arrived on time. I informed the service tech that I would be waiting for my truck and told him I needed to be at work at 2PM. Well....its now 1:25 in the afternoon and no truck. The service tech came out and said we are almost finished an hour ago. I understand my diesel can be complicated to work on....but over 5 hours for two tires an oil and filter change? My husband and I purchased a pre-owned 2015 Nissan Altima with a Platinum Protection Plan from Joyce Koons in March 2018. After having a mechanical issue with the car 30 months into our purchase, we contacted the warranty company only to be told the warranty had never been activated by the dealership. This means that from the time of purchase to the time the warranty began was actually 30 months ($1525.) for a warranty we did not actually have. This is fraud. My husband wrote to Shawn McGregor without receiving a response or resolution. After waiting for a response but not receiving one, he contacted the Better Business Bureau to lodge a complaint but was told that Joyce Koons dealership is not an active member of BBB. Hmmm? Would like to understand how you can charge someone for a service such as a warranty and not provide the warranty? read more

Hi everyone, I wanted to update my review after the frustrating experience with the concierge service. One of the managers caught wind of my frustrating experience with the concierge service and called me several times on his personal cell phone to touch base. He apologized for the difficult experience and promised to make it right - and he did. We rescheduled the service and this time it worked like clockwork. They picked up one vehicle, serviced it, returned THE NEXT DAY, and then picked up a second vehicle, serviced it and returned it quickly. For a large a busy auto dealer to take this kind of time for personal, white glove treatment is above and beyond. I suppose, anybody can have a rough week, and so sometimes things fall through. This dealership was advertising an excellent discount on a new vehicle. However, In trying to understand the total 'out the door' pricing for it I found they were charging a second destination fee on top of the one that was included in the MSRP. This is only apparent if you're paying attention and review the window sticker, which shows the destination change being included, along side the price breakdown they provide, which does not breakdown the MSRP. When they gave me their cost breakdown they only showed me the total MSRP and then after their discount the second destination charge was listed. This is extremely deceptive because they are making it look like an official fee from the manufacturer, which it is not because it's already accounted for in the MSRP. This is just a way to get people in the door but then not actually give them the discount being advertised. Their response was that every dealership in VA does this. A terrible response but also not true. I would stay away if this is how they do business. read more

They set the standard by which others are measured I have now bought my 4th car here, a used one for my student son. I had complete confidence in getting a 12 year old car because of the consistent reliable interactions I had buying my GMC truck (i love that diesel Canyon BTW), and a couple of Honda on the other side side of the lot. Every employee is attentive and clearly communicates what to expect, and when. I have never been stranded in waiting. My only complaint is they could use better wi-fi in the lounge, :) , but what really matters is their honesty and fair pricing. Went in to talk to a used car salesman, wanted to get on an email distro for vehicles that might meet my trade-in criteria. A very nice gentleman talked to me and then handed me off to his management. They wanted to look at my trade-in and test drive it. I was told it would take 15mins. The manager left me hanging... I waited in the lobby for over 40mins (going on 50mins)... for no reason. When I went up to the desk, the manager that looked at my car acted CLUELESS as if he didn't know he was supposed to be helping me. They probably would have had me sitting there for hours if I didn't approach the desk and say something. The very next day they email me about a GMC Sierra I supposedly looked at... only problem is, I never looked at a single car or even talked to them about potential trades because they left me hanging for over 40mins and either forgot about me OR simply didn't value my time. I never got a chance to discuss what I needed. There was No reason to leave me sitting there for over 40mins. There's no excuse. The management was very inconsiderate and unprofessional. Terry and the service department at Joyce Koons were amazing when we needed a miracle on a Sunday afternoon. When our family was driving from Florida to New York on Saturday, we stopped for the night in Lynchburg, VA and realized the tire was losing air. On Sunday morning we were hoping to get the tire repaired or replaced, and get back to NY that day. However, we found the 22" rim on our Yukon XL was cracked. We got the spare on and working, and found Joyce Koons service department was open on Sunday. I spoke with Terry, and the miracle began - they had our 22" wheel in stock! I explained our situation, and that we could probably get to the service department by 4:00 pm. We arrived at 3:50 pm. He and his crew took the truck immediately. After the new wheel, balance and alignment, we were on the road at 5:10. The car handled well and felt great the rest of the trip home. Everyone we worked with was amazing - kind and professional. I've had two bad experiences. I'll try to be brief. First time I had my Buick LaCrosse in for service I was quoted one price over the phone and was giving another price when I got there. I literally had about $2 more in my bank account then the original quoted price. I was livid and stormed out without my car. Second time, I dropped my car off on a Sunday . My car had a tire/ rotor issue, so unfortunately , my car sat for about 6 weeks. Luckily, I had a back up vehicle to drive to work. It had been extremely rainy for those six weeks. My car ended up with a very wet trunk and mildew on the seatbelts. Additionally, my AC had quit working. I supported a small businessman and had my tire issue fixed at a small service station. I figured a leaking trunk and new seatbelts would be better services at Buick. I set up my service appointment online and took it in on a Sunday . The service advisor was the only one working the desk. He reviewed my concerns that I filled out online. He left the desk to run to my car for a moment. When he came back to the desk, bent down and spit tobacco juice in a trash can. Completely unprofessional! Two days later, a different advisor called me to review what the technicians found. He was annoying. He absolutely insisted that my car had been driven into a lake. He also said that the AC wire had been rusted off of the AC compressor. He said the only way this had to have occured is if my car sat in water up the the engine for weeks. He said his technicians have 30 years of experience and that this is the only way this could have occured. He just didn't beleive me when I told him it sat in my level driveway and it had not been submerged. He also agreed that my car had mildew, but insisted that my trunk was not wet. It was completely saturated when I brought it in. There was about an inch of water in the spare tire compartment . In the end, he recommended a professional cleaning and detailing. He also said I'd need to replace the entire AC compressor with would cost around $1000. Since it is November, I opted to wait until spring to replace it. When I picked it up, the service provider again insisted that my car had been submerged in water for a long period of time.....because the techs with "30 years of experience" say that's the only way the damage could have occured. The entire time he was talking to me, he would break away to be the, overly friendly, cool kid on the block, and make hard rock guitar noises. It just came off as another unprofessional, goofy employee. I may end up going back to the small business owner for the AC compressor replacement. read more

I brought my 2021 truck to Joyce Koons for an oil change and tire rotation, something that was supposed to be covered by the extended service I chose to buy when I purchased the truck in January 2021. This was a FORD (ESC) Extended Coverage Plan (attached for reference), purchased from Koons in Tysons, VA. After reviewing my receipt, I found that I was charged $132.49 for the Oil Change and Filter, something that is explicitly covered according to the ESC plan. Why was I charged this amount???!!! When I was in the service area the advisor explained that since my mileage was nearing 15K he asked about having that service performed. Seemed reasonable, I agreed, thinking everything was covered for maintenance as what was "sold" to me in January 2021. This service, apparently, included the cabin air filter, and again, a basic maintenance item that I was under the impression would have been easily covered with the ESC Plan. Lo and behold, it is NOT, somehow due to being less than 20 months...according to the service advisor who claims to have spent 45 minutes on the phone with ESC. Was the cabin filter inspected and found to be clean? It's only 7 months old. Shockingly, I ended up spending $82.67 for a cabin "Air Filter Element" replacement, and a whopping $122.44 for the cabin air filter that I only AGREED to have VISUALLY INSPECTED and then found the service department replaced without further contacting me to confirm and agree to the replacement and additional charge. In all of the years I have owned vehicles this is one of the simplest and least expensive items to replace. This is a colossal gouge. Full extortion here. I expressed my dismay to the service advisor regarding the cost for the cabin air filter, and he responded by explaining that in this particular model it is much more complicated to access, "thanks to the engineers." This is simply not true. I accessed and inspected my cabin air filter in less than two minutes this morning m. This is how the negative view of dealerships is continually perpetuated. BG Fuel Induction Service Kit - $208.60 dollars. I am not sure what this is but shame on me for being bamboozled into agreeing to something I thought was going to surely be covered. 7 month old vehicle...with a history of "check engine light." Alignment: the dealership charged me $129.99 for something that wasn't needed. Was it even checked? I NEVER mentioned pulling and there wasn't ANY uneven wear on the tires. Was it even done? No clue. "Customer pay shop supplies for repair order" No idea what this is, but I paid $20.00 for it. What is this? Couple of takeaways here: Dealerships, regardless of your service plan, continue to be a massive grift against car owners. Skepticism is the wisest approach because of its HIGHLY DUBIOUS practices. I've had this truck since January of 2021 and the check engine light has come on three times, and when I brought it to your service department, twice, nothing. There is no solution, just monitoring, and no one seems to know why. This is still a mystery. I've had regrets for going with GMC. I've had multiple Toyota trucks, never had an issue. Ever. The maintenance plan I bought with the purchase of the truck, FORD ESC. Another grift, apparently, and the "everything is covered" theme that was presented, simply NOT TRUE. I made an error assuming that the service department would know the ins and outs of my service plan, but that burden is on me. I now understand that when I take my vehicle to ANY GM service department that I will need to explain that ANY maintenance done, not covered by the ESC, will need to be discussed with me beforehand. Onstar - another grift against the consumer. I made the original appointment with the handy app, but apparently it does not coordinate with the actual dealership. Who writes a glowing review about a car dealership? Well I'm going to because this is like the Trader Joe's, Nordstrom's, Southwest Airlines of car dealerships! Let me explain. - I decided to lease a car from Joyce Koons in December 2020 because I squeezed all of the local dealerships for the best possible deal. Koons came in so far below the others I thought I was being tricked. I wrote to ask for a full breakdown with all costs included (kind of annoyed), but unbelievably the salesman confirmed that everything was included in the quote. And still I was able to talk them down a little more in price! - I picked this particular car in part because they were throwing in free roof racks. Only when I picked up the car did my sales guy Sofyan confess that someone had also chosen the car but Koons searched the entire DC area and found the exact same car but with free mud flaps, wheel locks and a cargo mat thing. No peep about any of this when it was happening - they just hustled quietly to keep their promise and delivered. - Sofyan was a wonderful sales guy. So patient, approachable, knowledgeable, honest (yes I said it!) His attention to every small detail was stellar. - About six months after getting my car, I was contacted for my first service appt. I explained that I would be moving from the DC area and asked if they could front load any service work. The fact that this message was communicated quickly across the team - from appt coordinator to driver - was impressive. - Even though I went with the most affordable dealership option, the location wasn't convenient. Almost by accident, one of the coordinators mentioned their concierge service and said that they could pick up within a 30 mile radius. What? And as luck would have it, I'm 27 miles from the dealership. Fantastic! I've leased a luxury German car for six years and have never had more professional service. I mean I literally walked out the door, handed over the keys, and signed a couple of forms before seeing my car off for service. - With so many touch points, it's hard to believe that every interaction could be so impressive. And trust me, I have high expectations. See other reviews - ha! I recommend this dealership so highly. I recently moved to the Manassas, VA area and have been looking for a vehicle for months. After deciding on a Buick Envision, I swung by Joyce Koons Buick. Best vehicle decision made! My Sales Consultant, Codie Fravel, was extremely patient with explaining all the ends and out to the vehicle. I am not an impulsive buyer, and Codie made me feel like when I was ready, he would be there. They actually had a 2016 with 2,500 miles on it that I fell in love with. I actually spent several days looking at the Envision, each time, Codie was again patient with my questions. After visiting my bank and getting a local rate, I went back to the dealership to purchase the vehicle. The Manager, John Rendo, was able to Certify the vehicle adding another year of warranty and was also patient with all my questions and needs when going through the final negotiation. Their Finance Manager, Omar, was able to beat my Bank Rate and took additional time to make sure I understood all the paperwork. (After studying KBB and other Vehicle sites, I feel I got the best price and interest rate available for this car!) All in all, I felt like family when I left with my car keys! Sent in a credit app 4 days ago and still no response even with a 750+ credit score. I accidentally filled out the credit app wrong stating only half of my gross monthly income. When you fill out the info online you are unable to contest the offer for your trade in nor are you able to negotiate the sales price. Basically when you are asked to agree to "your deal" you agree to pay full asking price as well as accept the trade in value, which is a joke given the market as well as kbb. The worst part is their website states a preliminary credit app will not affect your credit. Per their website it basically states " this will not affect your credit..only needed for preliminary application ". I found out the hard way...hard pull on credit. Good luck. read more

The customer service here is nice, but the waiting stinks. There is almost always bad music cranked up on the speakers, or some awful TV program on. They have NO magazines to offer customers. While I like the service quality, like most dealerships, they over-charge on almost everything. I cannot begin to even say......That Nick in the Maintenance Dept, took Supurb care of me in doing maintenance on my SUV! 250% Perfection in all ways. He was caring, VERY honest, and called to keep me informed on what was being done! In this day and age, it's Difficult to get good customer service...BUT he went OVER and ABOVE!
