I went to Haas after another auto repair shop (their review elsewhere in yelp) took thousands of dollars to repair my H3 Hummer and caused added problems and claimed no responsibility as well as did not fix the problem. Think I may have found a life long mechanic. Great customer, customer friendly, reasonable pricing and quality work. Quick turnaround time. I have a Mazda CX9. I first took it the dealership and was told I have engine damage plus a list of other things costing over $5,000. A friend told us about Haas. We towed the car to there. The problem was the water pump coupled with some other issues but not the long list of issues the dealership quoted. Haas gave us a more affordable rate. No fancy building but great work! My boss is letting me drive his Mercedes Benz and it needed an oil change, so I took it here based on the yelp reviews. The price was about 1/2 of what I expected from reading forums online, and wasn't much more expensive than an oil change on a non-luxury vehicle. As a solo woman, I felt safe and respected. The work was done without unnecessary delay at my appointment time. They didn't try to sell me things I didn't need but were informative about things that might need attention soon. We always take our cars to Haas for major and minor repairs. They were able to fix the transmission problems in my husband's Honda Civic Hybrid when the Honda people couldn't even do it. Honda had several recalls because of the transmission problems in the Honda Hybrids. The dealer was never able to fix it right though. Haas Auto went out of their way to fix the problem permanently. I think they looked at it as a challenge :) Instead of having to buy a new car my husband can still drive the Honda to work. This is great for us because the license plate is grand-fathered in to HOV and we really did not want to sell. Plus, their price is more than fair. It is hard to find a good auto mechanic. My 2005 Honda Element (which I will refer to as Pete) had a rather complicated issue where the engine would stall out only when cold, and Pete had close to 200,000 miles at that time. Taking it to a Honda dealership cost me more than cared to spend in both rental car fees, parts, and labor, and two weeks had passed without any solution after three false diagnoses. They kept telling me "it's an old car," and that's when I realized they were trying to sell me a new one rather than attempt to fix a car I was perfectly happy with. Their "solution" would have been to take the entire engine out and charge me another $2000 to do so. I told them to cease work immediately on Pete, and I sought recommendations for a local mechanic. One of my friends who had moved to Front Royal recommended Haas - she was so loyal that she would drive the 40 miles from Front Royal Manassas one way just to have them work on her vehicles! I gave them a call, set up an appointment, and brought Pete in. Within 24 hours, I was back in the driver's seat without any sign of the problem - they figured out the problem immediately and had it fixed by the next afternoon after I had dropped it off overnight the previous evening. Pete is now 11 years old with over 487,000 miles. How much do you think I trust Haas Auto Service? I have found that I cannot trust anyone but the staff at Haas to do good quality work on my car. Their parts (with a few exceptions) are often under a year's warranty, and anytime they have made a mistake or a part was faulty, they have fixed their error without charging me a dime. And my car always passes inspection, for they are certified Virginia safety inspectors and whatever would keep Pete from passing inspection they can fix right there. They know cars, know exactly what to do under the hood, and I cannot say how many times I have driven Pete off their lot and been delighted to feel Pete handling like a new car, even though I know it is anything but that! I know my car will make it to 500,000 miles, and a great deal of that I owe to the highly competent and awesome staff at Haas. read more

I came to get my AC fixed, paid for the diagnostic, and had to drive back to Manassas from Alexandria IN HOT AIR in less than 24 hours. Job was not done although I had to wait over 7 hours to get it fixed. Offered no compensation and not once was I issued and apology. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. read more

Our Ford F250 diesel broke down on 234 and all of the oil poured out of the entire truck. We stopped by a couple of shops and no one wanted to work on our apparently incredibly complicated 6.0 diesel engine. We even took the truck to another shop when there was only minimal oil leak and the estimate was outrageous. Long story short we took the truck to Haas and they diagnosed the problem immediately. They gave us an estimate and while it went up a couple hundred dollars after the work was completed we are incredibly happy. They worked on the truck immediately, were reasonably priced and did everything they said and when they said it. They also didn't blow off our more difficult diesel truck. read more

Haas Auto is the place to go for honest repairs on your cars and trucks. After being told by 2 dedicated transmission repair places that I needed a new transmission costing $3,600, Bill Haas fixed my ailing Volvo for $6.50 ... yes, $6.50. I didn't have a transmission problem at all but a loose connection on a computer chip that needed soldering. That's what I call honesty. They will go to any lengths to fix your car, new or old, and do a great job. They also charge about half of what any dealership would charge for major repairs. If only more businesses were like Haas Auto. These guys are the BEST! read more

The guys here are cool, knowledgeable and willing to make sure they good do work but I wouldn't go here for more than preventative maintenance. I came in with an 'apparently complicated' issue and needed the valve seals to get replaced. It all cost me around $2,500 and I got the car back in the same shape that I brought it in. Then went back to try to get it fixed again and the same issue was still there after I was told to drive it around a bit 'and it should fix itself'. Really disappointed in these guys and was expecting better. The communication with the front desk was terrible too. I would get calls at 5:00 pm to pick up my car the day after they told me it was ready. Bad mojo. Run if you have advanced car problems. read more
