Good food and giant portions. Our table had chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki and the katsu chicken plus entrees came with choice of rice and a side salad. The meats were tender, full of flavor and although the fried rice looked great, I wished it had more flavor. The salad was crispy and the dressing was spot on with usual Japanese dressing. The restaurant is counter service and everything is fresh and hot. The restaurant is extremely clean and worth a visit. TIP: If there are a few of you get the family style dinner. It's less expensive to do it this way and there's plenty of food to go around.

This eatery is at the strip mall by the Jewel on Roselle and Golf. It seems unassuming from the outside but it is a hidden gem. It is a counter service and you will be greeted by friendly staff. Their go-lunch menu is reasonably priced, and you get a lot of food. I ordered the Katsu Go Lunch set which came with two generous pieces of fried pork, stir fried vegetables and rice. The box seemed to weight about a pound! The fried pork was crispy, and juicy but not oily , and the stir fried vegetables was flavorful and al dente (still has crispness). The sauce paired well with the pork - a little tangy and sweet. Overall a good spot! Overall a good lunch spot!

Though it's a simple dish, it was prepared well. The creamy salad dressing tastes great and has a pleasant flavor of sesame.

    Excellent portion and very tasty

The chicken teriyaki is delicious and the portion size is great The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the prices to dishes .... a tad high ... prices start at $16.99 and run to $20.99 plus the spinning iPad for the tip !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise the food is great ... all come with an extra small side salad ... and dishes come with a small extra sauce. If you are around then stop by and you won't be disappointed ....

Upon discovering the wonders of Joy Teriyaki in Hoffman Estates, one can't help but be enthralled by the exceptional cuisine delivered right to one's doorstep. This remarkable establishment offers a tantalizing journey for the taste buds, sending them on a delightful adventure through their exquisite dishes. During my recent delivery order, I was particularly impressed by the sheer generosity of the lunch portion for the Spicy Pork Teriyaki. Each mouthful offered a perfect balance of sweet, savory flavors and just the right amount of spice. As a seasoned spice enthusiast, I found the experience genuinely invigorating. However, those with a milder palate may wish to proceed with caution. The Spicy Pork, even without the teriyaki sauce, was nothing short of extraordinary. Tender and succulent, the meat was devoid of any chewiness. The addition of the teriyaki sauce further elevated the dish, imbuing it with layers of depth and flavor that were positively divine. I recommend savoring the sauce as a delightful accent rather than drenching the meat in it, for the meat itself is a star in its own right. I also indulged in their dumplings, which proved to be a delectable addition to the meal. While they may not deviate far from the classic dumplings one might find elsewhere, they were undeniably tasty and satisfying. In summary, Joy Teriyaki in Hoffman Estates is a culinary gem that delivers its mouthwatering creations right to your home. I eagerly anticipate placing another order to sample more of their enticing menu offerings. Experience the joy of their exceptional fare, and your taste buds will surely be grateful. **Establishments I visit receive the full olde English review as I would be able to review them thoroughly.**

One of my absolute favorite places to go to when I'm craving tonkatsu (pork cutlet)! Their salad dressing is insanely addicting, which you can actually buy a bottle of (I'm tempted to do so...) along with their special teriyaki sauce. I love eating at the restaraunt because they can give you a bottle of the salad dressing for you to add extra to your salad and food in general. The people that work there are so friendly and great to chat with! They even told me about their little hack of adding the salad dressing to the tonkatsu, which blew my mind. SO GOOD! I will continue doing that because it makes it creamier and balances out the tangy flavor from the teriyaki sauce. The katsu is nice and crispy without being oily! They give you, in my opinion, a large portion of both the cutlet and rice. In general, the food portions are great for the price (cutlet was about $14.99 before tax). This place is a must try!

I don't like spicy food so I always go with a safe entree - in this case it was the chicken teriyaki. The portions are VERY generous. It also includes a small iceberg lettuce salad. The teriyaki sauce that comes on the side is very good. The chicken meat may have been a little over cooked (dry) but I would rather have that over food poisoning! Heaping portion of rice too. Plenty of food for left overs. I bought some fresh pineapple at the grocery store and enjoyed "Hawaiian Chicken" to change it up.

The staff here are very nice, and the inside of the restaurant seems clean and organized. I ordered over the phone and picked it up. I miss the teriyaki place I frequented when I lived on Long Island, and I was hoping this would be similar. The chicken teriyaki here did not disappoint! I loved the slight grill char of the chicken, it's still moist not over cooked. I enjoyed the gyoza, and the side salad with the dressing was so refreshing. The salad dressing was absolutely delicious, and you can buy large quantities of the dressing or teriyaki sauce. I almost wish the teriyaki dishes came with steamed veggies to eat alongside everything. I wasn't a huge fan of the yakisoba noodles, I may just try them on their own next time with no veggies. It was an interesting "side dish" as it was enough food to stand alone as an entree and it was $10. I'm excited to try their katsu next!

Well- let's just say he wasn't too warm or welcoming and could barely grunt a greeting. Hmm. We were quickly seated in a very japanese-looking restaurant (a good sign). We ordered two apps - the chicken karaage and the agedashi tofu. I ordered the spicy tonkatsu pork ramen (not on their web menu, but still...). First demerit- my ramen arrived before the apps did. Seriously. Seriously? Me with a main dish and my hubby/friends bereft of food? Oh wow. I didn't touch it until the apps arrived a couple minutes later - finally their mains arrived. Yay. The apps? Well, the chicken karaage was really fried chicken breast meat (no bones; not a prob for me, but hubby - a japanese man by birth- was not impressed). The agedashi tofu was yummy and quite good. Nice! Ok- my ramen was - yes- spicy and oily, as any good ramen should be. The bad part? I could tell the bean sprouts weren't fresh as my sensitive digestive tract let me know - fast- that the sprouts were "not" fresh. Yikes. Not a good thing - hence the demerit. Ok- first- we may come again. But gosh. the workers really need to be a bit happier to be there- or - if they can't be pleasant - keep them out of the public's eye. That would be a big help- after all, this was our first visit- and it wasn't too welcoming - it would have offset the bad sprouts, you know?

One can sit at a table or the main sushi counter. The night I visited, it was rather slow which allowed staff to thoroughly wait on us. I asked a couple of questions about the menu. Our server explained that the most popular rolls were the Garlic Salmon, Mafia, and Hamachi Truffle. Most premium maki come as 8 rolls with the exception of Pink Flower and Tequila which are served as 6. All rolls are made to order with fresh ingredients. I also loved that they offered three options for veggie rolls as it's still my preference! To start, we ordered both the Lychee-tini and Old Fashioned cocktails. They couldn't have been more different in flavor profiles. The Old Fashioned was spirit forward yet smooth. It had a really nice finishing note that directly came from the Japanese Whiskey used. The Lychee-tini was sweeter and had good flavor. I also loved that there was actually a lychee at the bottom of the glass. For mains, my husband got the Mafia and Hamachi Truffle rolls per the staff's recommendation. He explained that the Mafia rolls were more of a mild heat. He preferred the Hamachi Truffle roll as it had a more unique and depth of flavor. I got the Black Garden roll without the jalapeño. I loved the freshness of the rolls and thoroughly enjoyed the veggies mixed with the sauce it had. We both agreed that all rolls tasted like they were made with premium, high quality ingredients. Once we finished, the chef came out to ask how we liked everything. Kaido's service level was amazing with staff clearing plates, refilling water, checking in on how we were doing, and just making sure we had the best dining experience. The details didn't go unnoticed and makes perfect sense why they have such an amazing Yelp score! Highly recommend visiting Kaido Sushi and looking forward to my next visit!
