This place is so so good! A group of us came in for dinner and they were really fast to get food out. Their portions are HUGE!! I got the spicy pork and shrimp combination. The chicken katsu has perfect breading to chicken ratio. One plate could possibly feed two people because their portions are so big. The teriyaki sauce and spicy pork sauce is spot on. They do tend to get quite busy during dinner time therefore I would recommend calling in for take out. Make sure you get the spicy pork plate or chicken katsu:) The workers were also very sweet and quick! read more

This place is the truth. I've been there multiple times this week. I've had both the Pork and Chicken teriyaki. Both are absolutely mouthwatering. In all that meat (the portions are nicely sized) I literally had zero pieces that were chewy. I'm addicted to this place. I will be back soon. I love you Joy Teriyaki. read more

There is no doubt that Joy Teriyaki is the best Asian food there is. Their new location on Roselle Rd between Higgins and Golf is very modern and welcoming It had been a while since we had enjoyed their food since they relocated. My wife got the chicken teriyaki and I the beef. It was amazing I highly recommend getting a jar of the Teriyaki sauce to take home. read more

Great Japanese restaurant. They had a smaller location in Glendale Heights where I would frequently dine at. They moved to a bigger building where they still offer their tasty Asian cuisine. The spicy chicken teriyaki is my favorite order here. The chicken katsu is also a solid option. read more

DEFINITELY NOT EVER COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE!!! This happened during our lunch break. We ordered 7 combo meals (entree and salad) for to-go since our office is close by. When we started eating, found out there was a "BAND-AID" (picture attached) in the salad. It was disgusting! Thinking that the person preparing the food have not worn any gloves. We immediately went back to the restaurant (JOY TERIYAKI) and talked to the owner. We wanted to see the person handling the food, and saw she had wound on 2 fingers. We saw her chopping the food with bare hands, no gloves at all, even with the cut on her 2 fingers. Bottomline: At first they were hesitant to give a refund so WE HAVE TO DEMAND for it. And the owners were not cooperative. We already reported this matter to DuPage Health awaiting response from one of the inspectors. read more

Nice small and unique location. I have been wanting to visit for quite some time and although I drive by it daily I have never been. Upon walking in I noticed it was very clean. The menu jumps out at you from a few large TVs. The lady who greeted me at the register was very polite and helpful. I ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki with rice and a salad. The food was prepared very quickly. The salad came with some sort of house dressing which was super yummy. I'd go back just for that dressing! The chicken was moderately spicy and very flavorful. One of the best low frills Asian food around. Korean owned and cash discount. Sometimes there can be a wait because it's popular. I haven't been there during Covid so I can't speak to that, but it's delicious. Very low key and simple, with decent seating options. Highly recommend though. But this is coming from a guy who loves Sarku as well, so take that with a grain of salt lol read more

Food: 4 Interior: 2 Service: 3 Price: $ If you wanted to try Japanese bento at a low price, this is the place to come. This is like a fast food place with some seatings. My friends used to love coming here, but their price have increased quite a bit over the last few years. There not much difference in price between lunch or dinner.. I think - a dollar difference, maybe? Their salad are always fresh, and dressing are tasty. I like their chicken teriyaki, and short rib. Their bentos are pretty good in portion. If you like most of their dishes, the family meal is a good deal to get. I do recommend coming here if you just want a quick Asian meal. read more

I was so excited to finally try the restaurant! after enjoying some of my classic teriyaki for lunch, I was very happy to bring a large portion home for dinner! I enjoyed it within 6h of purchase and appropriately refrigerated and heated the dish in between. The next morning I was out of commission. I was doubled over with cramping/nausea for many hours and saw my dinner a second time. Very disappointing conclusion to a much anticipated restaurant. read more

Best Chocken teriyaki I've had in Chicagoland, the prices are a bit high, but the portions are huge, the lunch special is a good amount cheaper, and the owner offers patrons a discount for paying cash. What's not to love?! The katsu is decent also, and if you like beef or pork teriyaki, they've got those too! read more

The food is consistently good here. The chicken and spicy pork is really good. The salad that these meals come with are ok, but the salad dressing is pretty good. So good, that they bottle it and sell it. Unfortunately their menu is a little limited, but if you like ordering the same thing over and over again, this is the place for you. The portions are great and filling. The people there seem nice. read more

Best Teriyaki in the Midwest. Bar none. We've been coming to Joy for 15+ years and their service, food, and price can't be beat. Their chicken and beef are tender and fresh. Their rice is perfection. And their sauce is what nearly every other Japanese spot gets wrong. It's sweet, tangy, thick, and I wish I could buy it by the gallon. Pro tip: their family meal is an absolute steal and easily feeds 4 people with leftovers for lunch the next day. read more

Their prices are very reasonable. The portions were very generous. However, the taste was just OK for what I had. The fried rice was different, but not crave worthy. The chicken teriyaki was not bad, but not great. The pork katsu was dry and almost burnt tasting. I didn't like the sauce at all. The fried dumplings again were dry, but the sauce was good. The egg rolls were gummy. I might try it again since others seemed to have a better experience. Maybe the chef was different. read more

While visiting Chicago, we decided to go for lunch near the hotel we were staying and foubd Joy Teriyaki right in the neighborhood. Little did we know how good were their offerings. We decided to go for the family meals ( 3 teriyaki- been, chicken and pork) and chicken katsu. Everything was soo tasty especially the salas dressing that we use to ear our katsu. They're one of those restaurants that closes for a couple hours in the afternoon, on weekdays, and they're only open in the evenings on weekends.

They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.
