I liked this place as they have the simple and basic collections that I am looking for to use for home/school. The staff are very friendly and attentive though this store might get crowded at times and busy especially during holidays and back to school seasons so please be mindful and be patient. I've been looking for a particular pair of Adidas Samba sneakers for myself and finally saw that they were available at this particular store. Normally I'd rather donate blood than visit a mall on Saturday, but sneakers are calling my name so here I go. As expected, the store was packed and promptly brought me back to the days of shoe shopping with my kids. Cory greeted me quickly with a big smile. I told him exactly what I was looking for and back to the dreaded store room he went. They didn't have the style I wanted but he brought me a couple of options which I decided against. The service is terrible and lose face. I tried on the shoes I wanted first, she saw and pointed to the shoes I wanted. There was no other way, the seller took the only new pair for her to try. Try it at the same time but I choose it first. The seller gave her a box of shoes and a new pair to try. When it was time for me to buy, the seller said that pair was the last pair. We have always bought shoes from Journeys, but this time we saw a pair of shoes that we were looking for at another store, but unfortunately they didn't have the size, so we thought to get them from Journeys. The price at the other store was $74.99 (no discounts), and at Journeys, the same shoes were $89.99. So I asked the associate why there was a difference in price, and she became all upset and started talking badly: "This is the price here; do you want to talk to my manager?" I said, Do you guys price match? as I just saw the price and it was $74.99, and she said, "Then buy it from there." I said, of course I will. Wow, what bad customer service! We went to this offline store to try on some Ugg boots, and asked for the Mustard Seed color. It was out of stock in store, so the employee offered to place an order for us. She went ahead and ordered the wrong color (Sand), and so when I called later that day to have the order cancelled since it was not yet shipped, they said I have to wait to get the package and return it myself. To cancel, it would have had to be cancelled within a 10-min time window or something after the order was placed. I never received a notification that the order was delivered, until the day after when I manually checked the tracking status. The problem was, I never got the package in front of our door. I called Journeys CS but they never picked up, so I left a text message. It took hours for them to text me back, just to let me know that the package was delivered to the correct address and therefore they cannot offer any refund. My problem with this company is that 1.) Their employee ordered the wrong color. 2.) That employee never offered an insurance/protection plan in case the package went missing/stolen/damaged. 3.) I had to wait to receive the package so that I can fix the mistake their employee made. 4.) Never receiving the package, I just wasted over $150 for one employee's mistake and the company won't do anything about it and their customer service stopped responding when I began to express my concerns. This company needs to do a better job training their employees and coming up with solutions for their mistakes rather than just ignoring their customer. I came here yesterday in search of new shoes, a cross body bag, and a backpack. I started off here, decided to walk around the mall, and Icame back after my search else where was unsuccessful. I ended up purchasing items that I normally wouldn't- I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone. I bought some really cute Pumas with cheetah/leopard (?) print, an adidas backpack, and an adidas cross body bag. Inventory: There is definitely room for improvement. I am 30 years old and have a small foot (4.5-5 youth). I was looking for workout shoes and there was definitely a lack of selection in my sizes. Like I mean, they only had one shoe that I liked and was in my size. I was getting desperate since other stores also lacked my sizes, but I was so happy with the Puma's that I purchased. They were comfy! Service: Although they didn't have many shoes in my size (a 4.5-5 youth) I decided to leave this review for the amazing service that I receive. When we came back the second time the staff at the store recognized us and asked if we were there earlier and immediately started to help us grab small backpacks that were high up. As I said previously I was looking for a small back pack as well. I wasn't sure if my 32 oz hydro flask would fit in the bag that I was looking it so the staff member brought there's for me to use to see if the dimensions would fit mine. It was a small, but kind gesture. I looked around and asked for multiple shoes in multiple sizes and the employees here all seemed so happy to help. TLDR; Anisa was great, customer service has always been on par when I visited! This review is for Anisa (saw her name tag) specifically. She was absolutely wonderful, helping us with our exchange while assisting other customers in the store. She made sure the shoes I tried on fit well before exchanging them, especially because sizing on docs are odd. Since they were my first pair, she gave me some tips on how to break them in. We were in and out within 10 minutes! A couple weeks prior, I had come in to try on a pair of docs JUST to get a feel of the sizing. A young gentleman helped me and brought out a ton of sizes, but I didn't catch his name! He didn't pressure me into buying anything but was very helpful&friendly as well. read more

Went here to return a pair of shoes, I had been given the wrong size. The employee had told me she was unable to help me because they were "used" but I don't know how that's possible given I can't even physically fit the shoe on my foot. She tried to accuse me of lying when it was someone in their store who had clearly made a mistake. I've worked in retail before and we've been taught to never argue with the customer, I could understand if company policy can not honor a sale or refund. But this pair of shoes was clearly brand spankin new- never worn out of the box. You work for retail, so why take your job so seriously? Nothing is more agitating than bad customer service. Chantal was the worst , terrible attitude. This employee alone just ruined it for me and I won't come to journeys again after this experience. Chantal gave attitude when getting out the shoe size I asked for and she ended up giving me the display . Then when I decided I would purchase the shoe she pulled the display to sell . I asked for another pair rather than the display and she said it was all they had. I asked if another location had it or if she could check the back just in case. But Chantal didn't want to look and she asked the other employee and she also said no they didn't have anymore and didn't want to check the back either . Chantal said if I didn't want the display , "it's whatever you want to do." There was no one in the store except myself and my friends so she wasn't busy, and I even told her the shoes are a birthday gift so I wanted the shoes to be in great condition. But she just kept saying the same thing , " it's whatever you want to do." She seemed overall annoyed when I went in and asked for help since I did bother her while her and the other employee were talking. But I just wanted friendlier customer service since I am paying for an expensive shoe such as Doc Martens. I'm not confrontational, so I would rather just write my opinion here . Horrible customer service. We attempted to return new shoes in original condition with a gift receipt and was told we could not return them. We needed the original receipt. Exchange would be fine but we didn't want anything else. When we returned with the original receipt two days later we were told we needed the original credit card in hand to do the return. After we had the person who bought them drive two hours with the credit card we were able to get our return completed. After contacting customer service I was told we should have been able to receive a cash refund with the gift receipt. We did not need the original receipt. We did not need the credit card. Really? I came in to take a look at some flip flops and initially things went well. I was greeted and directed to where the flip flops were and things went smoothly. Then the s#!t hit the fan. What happened? They're computers/servers crashed. I've been there. I get it. I've done work in computing and IT and I've been in this situation. I know the frustration. I know that feel. And if they can't help me because of this then it's all good. I completely understand. But for the employee to handle it by cussing and ranting all over the place instead of calming down and trying to help customers in any way possible was well...unpleasant. I was in need of some new dr. Martens and I happened to come across the journeys selection. I am a full time teacher and I am a really indecisive person when it comes to something I want. However, I came across a handsome young man named joshua he approached me with a beautiful smile and greeting, he helped me with a variety of docs. He was very knowledgeable with the docs he was selling me. He was super patient and always had a great attitude bringing every shoe I decided to try on. I have been to so many shoe places and the workers always have negative attitudes and don't have the patience to help me but joshua really turned my view point on shoe stores completely. So I told Jacob (the manager) after a very long talk that unlike most people who say they will post a review and dont, I will follow thru. Soooo here it goes! I came in once and they didnt have the shoe I wanted anymore, being its an older shoe. So I left and came back to get something else! Great experience, it was a pleasure meeting to very chill, helpful people!! And now to official business... First of all, location...Its in a mall doesnt get much better then that! Size is fairly decent. The selection of shoes is always off the hook! They always have what Im looking for and MORE!! The Staff/Customer service...So for me I enjoy customer service, you get paid to help me at least make it an enjoyable experience. Jacob was very friendly, from offering help, suggesting ideas or telling me how to wear certain looks. Very friendly, helpful, and very speedy! I walked in and he was on the phone but made it a point to greet me and be very capable of multi tasking. (guess thats why he is manager?) There was another staff and I wish I could remember his name...we were discussing these rainbow vans and said they go with really anything! He also was very helpful and quite funny! Cute selection of items. However, the staff is really pushy. I bought a pair of shoes and the girl working the register put a two pack of basic white socks that were $10. "You're buying white shoes, so you need some socks that won't show." She didn't even ask me! I told her I own plenty of socks, and she asks if I am sure. Yikes! I understand that employees try to nudge customers to buy more items, but placing an item without asking me is just unprofessional. Ordering online is even worse. Had one of the worse customer service experiences at this location. I went in to return a pair of shoes. At the time of purchase, I requested for my receipt to be emailed, but unfortunately I never received it. When I explained this to the extremely rude manager, she responded "that's impossible." Never once did she consider a glitch in the system. Instead she made me feel as though I was lying. I persistently pleaded with her to look the transaction up. She eventually agreed and found that my purchase was valid. Was it really necessary to put a customer through this? HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY THE STORE MANAGER, JACOB - If I could, I would give this place ZERO stars. I picked out a pair of boots that were on display - I was hesitant to purchase the boots since I did not know if I would like the style. Jacob persuaded me to purchase the boots, and kept reassuring me that I would not have any problems making a return if I did not like them. Jacob's exact words were: "take it home, try it on with your clothes, and if you don't like it, you can return them, no questions asked, just as long as it's not worn." I decided to purchase the pair of boots. I asked Jacob for a new pair of size 7 (not on display), but Jacob told me that the ones on display was the last pair, and if I wanted to purchase the boots, I would have to take the display. Please note that I never buy anything on display, but because Jacob was so nice and convincing, I made the purchase, knowing that I would have no problem making a return if I was not satisfied with the boots. I went home and tried on the boots with my clothes. I realized that the boots did not look as good as I thought. Upon making my return, Jacob immediately took the boots and carefully examined them for a long time. Jacob then stated that I would only be able to exchange the boots, because the boots had been worn. I politely stated to Jacob that I had not worn the boots, and reminded him that the pair of boots he sold me were the ones on display. Jacob began to argue with me and stated that the boots he sold to me were the ones from the back room. Jacob continued to state that even if the boots were on display, they did not look like the ones I was trying to return. Keeping my calm, I then asked Jacob that if I had not worn the boots, who could have worn it while I had the boots in my possession? Jacob stated, "I don't know, your dad?" Jacob then went on and stated that that even if I had not worn the boots, that the boots had been worn. I thought to myself, I had bought the boots for myself, who else could have worn it? Does this mean that Journeys had just sold me a pair of "used" boots? Jacob continued to accuse me of wearing the boots and then trying to return them. I politely told Jacob again that I had not worn the boots and that I just wanted to make the return and that with this kind of customer service, I was reluctant to return to Journeys and make other purchases. Jacob looked at me and stated, "That's fine, we don't need your business." I was speechless. Jacob finally agreed to let me return the boots and began the return process. In the midst of the return transaction, Jacob suddenly stopped and stated: "I will not be demanded by you. Come back another day when your attitude is better." Jacob then shoved the boots back to me and demanded that I return another day. I have not been this disrespected or humiliated ever. I will NEVER buy anything from Journeys again. With internet option like Amazon and Zappos, brick and morter shoe stores need to do more in order to keep business. Tonight I went into Journeys and after being a customer for 10 years I am not going back. First off there is one girl working while 2 or 3 people are standing around and the store is packed. Then I ask the girl to measure my son's foot, she tells me a number that i new was 2 sizes smaller than what he wore - that is when my son realized that he was standing on it the wrong way - I think now it must have been the sizeing instrument for women's shoes and not mens. Then she brings us the shoes and when I ask for a sock she hands me one of those little nylons that women use. That is okay, I am willing to buy socks - I buy new socks for my son every time I go in there. So the girl tells me - "they are over there, you want the ones with the purple band" - I found nothing worth buying with a purple band around them. So screw it - we won't buy socks and he will just try the shoes on barefoot. Then I look down at the shoes and of course the girl did not lace them up for us - I had to do it myself. Why am I going to spend $65 for a pair of shoes I can get online for $50 if you are not even going to lace them up for me? Well thanks Journey's - now I know what size to buy him - online! I usually buy two pairs of shoes and socks - I easily spend $200 when I go in there every 3 months. You lost my business tonight! read more

Their selection was good, but their customer service regarding returns needs a lot of help. I bought a pair of Rainbow flip flops and realized they were just a wee bit too small. I tried to take it back to exchange it, but when they didn't have the next size up, the salesperson begged me to not return it and he would drive to Pleasanton to get me the size, just so the store wouldn't have to take the loss. Feeling properly guilted, I agreed and came back the next day. He wasn't there, but they found a pair in the size I wanted, but decided to keep the ones I got originally. After thinking about the shoes for a week though (this is how I shop--I buy, think it over hard, then decide) I decided I could probably get a cheaper pair at the outlet and that $50 wasn't worth spending on a pair of flip flops I wasn't completely satisfied with. I took the sandals back and the original guy was there and he pretty much laid a guilt trip on me for returning the shoes, saying that he would have to take the loss on the return (I guess he runs the stores in the Bay Area or something) and that he went all the way to Pleasanton. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because he did make an effort to get me the shoes, which I did appreciate a lot. I DID NOT, however, appreciate being made to feel guilty for returning something I wasn't happy with. Also, when I was returning the shoes, he made a huge deal about how whoever was at the store the second time should've found me the shoes and that someone was getting in trouble and etc. However he treats his employees, I don't want to hear his grievances aired out to ME. Out of the 20 or so shoes in my closet, I have 8 or 9 pairs of Chuck Taylors at the moment. I love these shoes. I have been wearing them since middle school and I love the great selection of colors and prints to choose from. Journeys is my one stop shop for all my Converse needs. I have seen no other shop with such a selection. I think I have gotten my last ten pairs from here and each time I am treated like gold. Often they do not have my size in stock, but they always offer to order it in for me. I always say no and find another pair in another print or color. Their suggestions are always helpful. I never would have gone to yellow on my own, but I love my new yellow shoes! This is the best shoe store for me EVER. DSW and all those mega-shoe stores can go to hell. Journeys is all I need. I ordered the Reebok classics. The next day they put an "authorization" hold on it. The next day I contacted customer service to inquire about the shipping. They tell me they are looking for a store to ship it from! An hour later I get an e- mail stating they cancelled my order! No explanation given. When I contacted " customer service" I was told about another pair in another color BUT I would have to re- order that pair and WAIT 3- 5 days for my original refund! But hey rejection is for your protection! I have already notified co- workers, family and friends! I will NEVER shop here again! read more

Shoes were sent from store 0511 in San Antonio Texas so I believe the employee stole my shoes.
