[[HIGHLIGHT]]Awesome coffee shop nestled in downtown Vacaville![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted right away with super nice friendly staff! You can tell they are total sweethearts. I tried the summer drink - the citrus matcha tonic and it was so good and refreshing! The bf got the bulletproof (perfect for Keto) and it was tasty too! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's interesting that it's like located inside a theater![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Only con I can think of is theres a bit of wait to get your drinks but other than that.. it was great. There is small handful of indoor seats and plenty of outdoor seating which we end up sitting to get a bit of sunshine in the morning after school drop offs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect for a fun coffee date![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've been to Journey in their Fairfield, One Lake, and Alamo location before but this was the first time at the Downtown one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is slightly different since it's the theatre downtown. The others were a more farmhouse rustic vibe. This one seems to be very popular with families. I saw 2-3 groups with strollers when we came.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the service is just as great. The "You Matter" theme still holds here. I think the downtown location may offer slightly more breakfast food options and more seating! I haven't been here when the bar has been open. We ordered a chai latte, matcha latte, and the oat pancakes. Once again I've been very satisfied with their matcha lattes. The chai latte was heavy on the cinnamon. Their options for non-dairy milk are a little limited compared to other cafes. But it's still great they ask if whole milk is okay. The pancakes were made to order and took a little wait. With so much on the menu there's a good chance we'll be back to try the other items.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This Journey's location is pretty solid when it comes to cafes in the Vacaville downtown area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While walking downtown on a Monday morning, I noticed a lot of other breakfast and bakeries closed at 0800 as well as being closed on Monday. Journey is opened everyday and has a large selection of breakfast and lunch items to order from. Like a lot of people have said, this café is located in the entrance of the Deville Theater and often will have people walking through the café to the theater for events. There's a bar located on the adjacent side of register but not open in the mornings - when? I don't know. The service here is very friendly - as are all the other Journey locations. I had placed my daughter in the Discovery Hub a few doors down and wanted to be within walking distance incase she wanted to leave early and asked the cashier if I could work on my laptop in the dining area. As soon as I got his approval I was locked and loaded, busting out meetings and schedules in the corner of the café. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I could possibly start a Yelp list specifically for people that need a place to work in public because I'm sure it would be very resourceful for those that need information.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such as, the tables along the window has two outlets where you can plug in your power. There's also the bar area that has an electrical outlet as well[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In the case that there is an event in the DaVille, the noise can be loud (bring noise canceling headphones/microphone).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My daughter and I ordered the almond croissant roll and chocolate croissant roll. They were both as delicious as we'd expect it. I'll have to try other items on the menu as the selection is far more immense than the other locations that I've seen!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Good coffee, unique venue and look like they have a full bar and wine tasting next door.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What's not to love? This is definitely a must stop when in Vacaville.

Ah! I love it here. I'm pretty particular about my matcha lattes & saw 2 people walking by me with iced matcha lattes (in the PERFECT shade of green) and had to ask where they got it from. They led me here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a spacious interior! Love the vibe in here. Very rock & roll/concert hall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They serve tons of breakfast options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In the evenings this place is transformed into an event center![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For matcha, they offer sweetened powder & unsweetened power. They only serve their iced matcha in a 20oz cup which I didn't mind since I added extra matcha powder. Service was awesome & very kind!! I ordered my matcha with unsweetened power then asked for it to be sweetened with honey. The matcha is absolutely delicious. I approve 100%. You can still taste the bitterness & astringency of the powder even though it's 20oz. Shoutout Journey! You guys are killin' it!

Took my chef bestie here for her birthday. Wanted to try something new and different in Vacaville and Happen to stumble upon this place. We parked at the parking lot walked right in and was greeted right away. It's one of those places that you walk up to the counter or order the food and then they bring it to you. Staff was super friendly there. I got their club on a croissant with a side of fries and my best friend pretty much got the same thing. Everything was made very delicious and came out really fast. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the stuff off the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love that this place has so many events going on every weekend. Live music and sports or something else[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Definitely have to come back to do a live music night with others definitely will be back again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little cafe in downtown area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do breakfast and lunch, coffee and smoothies. Burger was pretty good. Fries were nice. Chicken strips seemed somehow a little over done but the breading had some decent flavor. The tropical smoothie was sweet. Caesar salad was fresh but I don't like the powdered parm as much as the strips. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I appreciate the clean restrooms and it looked like they had a baby changer that you could lay out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think the overall place is cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Sometimes I crave just meat and cheese and no veggies which they serve. They also serve a ham & egg scramble which is eggs and diced ham. The food portion sizes are also large. One can easily share a meal if you are a lite breakfast eater. The sour dough toast slices were even large as well as my croissant. I ordered BLTA croissant, which is BLT and Avocado. Thick slices of tomato, avocado, and crisp iceberg lettuce with lite mayo spread and comes with your choice of sides. I choose French fries but they have a rosemary breakfast potato I stared to get but maybe next time for sure. My fries were served hot & crispy (not hard). The size of my croissant and mountain of fries covered my entire plate. There is a wait but it is worth every minute. Service is superb. The prices are very reasonable. I also had the peach mango mimosas called Da Bomb! And it was indeed. I got a nice buzz it was cold and refreshing. And not served in a narrow flute glass for only $11. I didn't need a second glass and probably would have stumbled my way out if I had. I've been traveling between Napa and Sacramento for monthly brunches for the past five years. It's a family tradition adopted following the pandemic. Most restaurants that I choose is based on the menu items. Oh and another entrée the Heritage serves is loaded grits. This and the meat lovers omelette caught my attention. Our tab plus beverage and tax for table of two was under $45. If you are a breakfast lover and want a nice breakfast meal in a cozy cafe located in downtown Vacaville where the price is right - you don't want to miss out. There's also out door dining. I don't know the history behind this place or how they been around but this was like finding a gold mine. Not sure how other businesses in the area can compete. Again it's a small cozy spot, warm house atmosphere, not noisy, and once seated food comes faster than the wait time. Excellent customer service. If I was a regular breakfast eater I think I could eat here everyday. I could surly afford it and that's a fact. Well Mac Donald's breakfast is fast and inexpensive and that's the only comparison. There's one restaurant chain I will no longer bother to dine at now that I've been to Heritage House Cafe. If you care not to try Heritage cafe for yourself that's okay. This keeps wait time shorter. lol. Seriously I think you will enjoy their meals, the atmosphere, great service and sparkling mimosas'

Luckily the weather was perfect the day we went, so we grabbed a table outside and it ended up being the ideal way to enjoy the meal. We started with a Cuban café with condensed milk, and it was incredible. The coffee was bold and rich like a good Cuban espresso should be, and the condensed milk added the perfect amount of sweetness and creaminess. It was smooth, strong, and honestly one of the best cups of coffee I've had in a while. For food, she ordered the chilaquiles and I ordered the ropa vieja plate, and we also added an order of papa rellenas to share. The chilaquiles were easily the star of the show. The chips were perfectly coated in sauce without being soggy, and the sauce itself had a really unique flavor compared to the traditional chilaquiles I'm used to. It had a deeper, richer taste with just the right balance of spice and tang. Every bite was packed with flavor and it felt like a really thoughtful twist on the dish. The ropa vieja was just as impressive. The shredded beef was incredibly tender and flavorful, clearly slow-cooked because it just fell apart with each bite. The seasoning was spot on -- savory, slightly tomatoey, and really comforting. It came with black beans and rice, and even though I'm usually not a big fan of black beans, these were excellent. They had a lot of flavor and a great texture, not watery or bland like they sometimes can be. The only thing that didn't quite land for me was the papa rellenas. They were well made, but I was expecting something with more of an empanada-like texture or a crispier outer bite. Instead, it was much more potato-forward, which made it a little heavier than I was hoping for. Service was amazing! Kind friendly staff Overall though, the food was flavorful, the coffee was amazing, and the relaxed outdoor seating made it a really enjoyable meal. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in the area.

Onion rings on the side were cooked just right and crispy. No one in our party was disappointed. The ice-cream at the end was just enough to top off the experience. A California Classic That Lives Up to the Hype…read more Some places have history. Some places have incredible food. And every once in a while, you find a place that has both. Fentons Creamery is one of those rare gems. Walking into a restaurant that's been serving families for well over 100 years is an experience all by itself. You can feel the history the moment you walk through the doors. It's nostalgic without feeling outdated, and it's clear why generations of families have continued coming back. The restaurant itself is huge, incredibly clean, and has such a fun atmosphere. One of my favorite features was the massive spinning display showcasing all of their incredible ice cream creations. It's impossible to look at it without feeling like a kid again, and trying to decide what to order becomes the hardest part of the visit. We started with lunch, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Triple-Decker Chicken Club, and it was enormous. Every layer was fresh, flavorful, and stacked high with quality ingredients. We upgraded to the seasoned curly fries, and that may have been the best decision of the meal. They were perfectly seasoned, incredibly crispy, and served with what tasted like freshly made house ranch that was absolutely outstanding. Honestly, the food alone would have made this restaurant worth visiting. Then came dessert... We ordered the Monster Brownie Sundae, and "monster" is no exaggeration. It arrived at the table looking like something out of a movie--towering scoops of ice cream, rich hot fudge cascading down the sides, whipped cream piled high, chopped nuts, and the classic cherry on top. The real star, though, was their famous Dutch Chocolate Chip ice cream. Without exaggeration, this was some of the best ice cream I've ever had--not just in California, but anywhere. The texture was unbelievably creamy, the chocolate flavor was rich without being overpowering, and the chocolate chips added the perfect bite. It's easy to understand why Fentons has earned such an incredible reputation over the last century. What made the entire experience even better was the staff. Every member of the wait team we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. Great service can elevate a meal, and they absolutely did. Overall, this was one of those meals that reminds you why local institutions survive for generations. Amazing food, legendary ice cream, outstanding service, a fun family atmosphere, and memories made around the table. If you're anywhere near the area and love classic American diners or incredible homemade ice cream, Fentons Creamery belongs at the top of your list. Prices were a little steep, but it was definitely worth it because the portions were massive. We'll definitely be back and next time, we're saving even more room for dessert.

Here's my review: Drinks: Both the Arnold Palmer and the Cadillac Margarita were good. My lemonade tea wasn't overly sweet and I could definitely taste the lemonade. The pitcher of Cadillac Margarita looks innocent but may give someone a slow and powerful buzz if you're not used to the drink. (4.75 of 5) Charcuterie: This a complete appetizer board. Overall, there were some hits and misses, however, we agreed this is a well thought out appetizer board. Their Crispy Brussels Sprouts is also the best we've had. The seasoning is on-point, allowing the texture to show off its crackling, crunchy bite on the outside, contrasted by a tender, melt-in-your-mouth interior. (5 of 5) Seasonal Tacos: "Oh WOW!" The explosion of spicy and tangy flavours balanced by contrasting textures makes this dish "pop". (4.75 of 5) Beet Salad: The colours were lovely, but this beet salad was over-salted. The vibrant dish featuring beets as the main ingredient, balances the earthy sweetness with contrasting textures and flavours. If this wasn't too salty, it would have been more refreshing. (3.75 of 5) Coconut Lime Bouillabaisse (halibut, jasmine rice, spinach, snap pea, pickled shiitake mushroom, coconut lime broth, basil oil): Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Bouillabaisse means seafood. The only seafood we noticed were chunks of halibut, which were delicious. This dish looks and tastes more like an elevated Thai soup dish that cost too much. (3.5 of 5) After walking in, we decided to sit outdoors because of the loud music that was playing. We're glad we did. The overhang on the veranda was well positioned with plants and flowers softening the cement walkway. The weather was pleasant - with a gentle breeze blowing down the corridor. Parking is easy if you arrive early enough. One last note: Back Door Bistro in Vacaville was featured on "Check, Please! Bay Area"

I've been coming here for a decade and their quality has only improved. The cafe is now larger and…read morea little more modern but they still left a touch of the aviation theme that started their journey. There is now a Tesla Supercharger so navigate to that instead of the cafe so that your Tesla preconditions while you enjoy your morning. They no longer support their own app and have turned the keys over to Square to create an account to make it easier to pay and reorder. The ready times you get in the app are later than it's usually ready so I recommend giving them 10-20 minutes lead time. Here's my rating of the variety of foods and drinks I've tried. Undertow - 8 - Fun twist on a cortado as the half and half is cold and they add a splash of vanilla. The hot espresso is carefully floated on top of the milk so that when you drink you feel the cold "underflow" of vanilla milk. Cortado- 8 - Small but powerful sip of espresso. I prefer it with half and half and a touch of sugar over Journey's method but it is a tasty sip. Lavender Latte - -10 - the best version of a lavender latte you'll ever have. Cherry Blossom Latte - 9 - The cherry syrup is very forward but blends nicely into the latte which gives it light finish. The coffee does get a touch lost so add an extra shot. Citrus Cocoa Latte - 9 - The orange syrup is prevalent throughout the drink but the cocoa starts to stand up more the last half of the drink. I don't prefer chocolate drinks but this doesn't taste like a mocha at all. Very well done Journey!!! Veggie n Egg Breakfast Wrap - 7 - Light and flavorful but needs some pop from another ingredient. I recommend using the Tapatio hit sauce to elevate it above our 7 rating for those that want some pop of flavor and can handle spice. Breakfast Hand Pie - 6 - The pastry wasn't crispy but it did have some crispy seeds on it to save the texture, a bit gummy for my liking. The filling was also creamy with more cheese than needed (and I love cheese). Although good, I wouldn't get it again because the flavor of the filling fell flat. First Class Wrap - 10 - If you can handle spice, the chipotle sauce is amazing amidst the variety of ingredients. This is my go-to and everybody I introduce it to gets it as well. Every business partner I've introduced this right off the freeway coffee stop has loved and kept as their own. It's a no brainer if you're headed down I-80.
