I've been coming here since the day they opened, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience with the food. Every single visit, the quality and taste are consistently excellent. If you know what authentic Indian food is supposed to taste like, you'll immediately appreciate this place. The fish pakora is absolutely out of this world--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. It's one of the best I've had anywhere. The paranthas are always fresh, filling, and made the right way. Customer service is pretty average, no matter how early you place your order, and the food is usually not ready right away. That said, it's clearly because everything is made fresh and sold by weight, so the wait is completely worth it. They've expanded the menu quite a bit over time, and while prices have gone up recently, the taste and quality make it worth every dollar. This is still my go-to spot and always will be. If you're looking for a homestyle North Indian meal, this place hits the mark. It's more suited for pickup, but since we traveled quite a distance, we chose to dine in knowing that the food might lose some of its appeal if it got cold during the trip. We ordered one Chole Bhature. The bhatura was fresh and made in oil not baked like at some places. It looked and tasted authentic. The chole was flavorful and reminded us of Punjab/Chandigarh. The combination was truly satisfying. We also tried the Chicken Karahi with rice, which was quite good. The sabji had a nice depth of flavor and complemented the rice well. If you're from Punjab or familiar with Punjabi style cooking, you'll likely love this place. If you're expecting Delhi-style North Indian food, the flavors might feel a bit different but still enjoyable. The prices were very reasonable, and the food felt like a great value. I wanted Indian food and was a bit bored with my usual spot, so I gave Jot a try. I got their butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and chicken biryani to see how they interpreted my favorite dishes. Their portions were generous, and spices were on point in everything but the garlic naan, which had mysterious orange garlic on it. I think my favorite was the biryani, which was plentiful, spicy, had tender chicken and fluffy rice. I will certainly be back! read more

One of the best samosas in whole of Seattle! They are always freshly made and the side of chutney is as enjoyable as the samosa. Tried their gobhi parantha, dahi chaat, cholla bhatura, and amritsari naan, masala chai, aloo tikki chaat, and can highly recommend to anyone craving street food. Only downside is they are a take away only with no dine-in or seating option. Very good, authentic Punjabi food. We ordered a take out of matar paneer, dal makhani, tandoori rotis and jalebis. Both paneer and peas very super soft and fresh. Dal makhani was creamy the perfect amount and not overly laden with fat. You could tell nothing pre-made or preservative-based (pastes/tomato purée) went into making the food as it tasted very fresh. It's a pretty small place; had noticed this place when I'd drive around here, but never knew if I'd ever come try it, because it looked more like a deli. But it was better than I expected. Jot Sweets has never disappointed. Their food is cooked to order. That time between lunch and dinner, we happened to be in Kent and ordered Chai and Samosa at the counter. And we couldn't resist the sweets to go - jalebi, soan papdi and ladoo. It was a 15 minute wait for the samosas and Chai but it was worth it. The chain was delicious and hot. The samosas had just been fried. Yummy. Tip: the desserts/sweets aren't on their takeout or order online menu, but you can order when you get there. read more

I don't believe the bad review with the hair on the sweet. When I went in to pick up some jalebi, I talked to the young lady who rang me up. She said that picture was not taken at this shop and I believe her. I don't blame her for getting upset about it when she has asked for it to be taken down because it wasn't the right place. We came here because we were craving jalebi, and were impressed by both the sweets and the precautions that have been taken to protect employees and customers against the spread of COVID-19. There is a plastic barrier that separates the store from the area behind the counter, and hand sanitizer was available. As for the sweets, the jalebi was delicious, crispy and juicy; since going I've been regretting that I didn't get more. Soan papdi and kaju katli were also good and not overly sweet. I had catering done for my daughter's wedding from Jot. I cannot tell you how good the food was! My guests kept asking me where I catered the food from and by the end of the night I just wrote their name and number on board so people could see it. If you need catering done, this is the place, hands down!! Will not disappoint you at all. The owner is very personable and added items from his own side for free! I guessed this one was open not long ago on east hill in Kent, which is another Punjabi Indian outlet sells sweets and north Indian style foods. My friend ordered me a chick pea dish which was a little salty initially. I was told that I was supposed to eat it with the fried pocket bread which I tried. It was tasty. It is never done on time and there are 3 kids always fussing around and don't seem to be clean. It doesn't seem like a professional place with the kids working and handling things especially during pandemic guidelines. It's on the 202 in Redmond right after Whole Foods ... Decided to try them since UberEats delivered. Ordered butter chicken, samosa and naan. It was all just gross. The meat had the weirdest texture. I literally ate only one bite with chicken then just a few more with just rice and sauce. I just couldn't eat much more than that. Made my stomach turn. This place has the best besan out of anywhere I've tried, and believe me, I've tried a few. If you've never tried besan, I highly recommend it. Their food is also really excellent, especially the samosas with chickpeas. Their serving sizes are also huge. One order will last me 4-5 lunches. The people who run it are always polite and friendly, and they have a few kids who are always around in the evenings and provide plenty of entertainment. A hole in the wall exquisite find. Our family's favorite spot. The food is tasty and makes you feel like home/authentic eating compared to the tasty but not quite real, Indian food you find most elsewhere. There are many Indian spots where you buy something and when the dish comes, you immediately think "That is all I get??" This place is not so. When they serve you you look at the amount and feel satisfied because it is worth what you paid for (they are hard workers). We always end up taking at least a third of everything home for another meal. The staff is a huge part of why we come here-- they treat us family-style and with a joyful spirit and true hearts. The food flows from that. A time-built friendship. As goes anywhere, if you didn't totally like what you got just change it up the next time and ask them for less/more spice, less salt, please put the heater on/off, etc. They are happy to oblige. Don't be afraid to kindly say your opinion-- they are great cooks and know how to accomodate your request. Keep coming and trying different things till you find what your likings are. Not too fancy place just straightforward, but all that fancy is put into the quality of food they serve. Takes a little time, but with that comes great food, no fillers. Patience pays off here. (Also keep in mind that they are a place that cooks long and hard for events all day where people pick up.) I have a love hate for this joint. My partner and I searched on grubhub for indian joints that deliver, only restaurant was Jots sweets, prices are completely jacked up on grubhub than the paper menu, my partner called in our order for delivery and the woman says they won't deliver unless 50.00 min but grubhub clearly states 35.00. Nonetheless our bill was 51.38 and still didn't want to deliver, once we arrived for the food the women expresses why they don't deliver, "because indian people won't give us tips" (my partner is indian whom called the order in) I was floored with anger. So even when we ordered a large some knowing the prices were higher because we figured the tip was taken from that she continues to complain to US(customers). I give 3 stars for the quality of the food, but service was a joke(negative stars -.-) read more

I went there today for the first time I really didn't like it, the food didn't taste good , me and husband ordered cholay batura and baigaan bharta, the restaurant is very dirty, no one was there to take our order, waited for 10mins and the cook came out to take our order ...lol... he had a apron on that was dirty, also ordered chicken kahari,the chicken had a bad smell, don't go to this restaurant it's a waste of money. Excellent fried fish tilapia 9.99 pound comes with radish and green sauce. Butter chicken slow cooked delicious and the sweets excellent. Family ran and friendly. Recent remodel is a plus. The Naan is cheap and delicious everything is great reheated because always have leftovers. read more

I love Indian food and usually cook it at home. This is the place to go when I don't feel like cooking. It is a small storefront type restaurant with minimal decor, just a couple of murals on the walls and the display rack of their sweets. Nothing fancy, very homey. The food is homey, too, if you're a good cook. I ate a vegetarian dish and my companion ordered the goat curry. Both were eaten down to the last drop of sauce. We were served extra rice at no extra cost. What makes this small restaurant outstanding is the hospitality. The lady who served us made us both feel welcomed and catered to with service I would expect at a much more expensive restaurant. She anticipated our wants and was there when we wanted her without hovering. The man was making some pastries and gave, yes, GAVE, us each one. Not to be outdone, the lady gave us another sweet.
