This beautiful (sophisticated) restaurant has delicious food and wine. We went for pizza, which was wonderful, but lived our extras just as much: salad and brat. And the service made us feel like we were in a fancy dining place, giving us fresh plates and silverware with each thing we ate. Great value. Great food. Great service. And Beautiful. read more

What a wonderful experience! The restaurant is so cute and everyone was so nice. I popped in for a solo dinner and felt so welcomed. The pizza was so yummy! read more

We had the tomato pizza with spicy nduja and it was amazing. Kids had the salami and loved it. Our family had the margherita and said it was just ok. We'd definitely eat here again but just try something other than the margherita. read more

The perfect home-made wood fired pizzas. Service was lacking due to short staffed this evening, but quality of food was an "A" and the person in charge (the owner?) was working very hard and did his best to manage the dinner rush hour inside / outdoor dining and take-out. I thought he did well in managing this as he told us before being seated that he was short staffed. (Came here a second time, and again they were short staffed -- so set your expectations). The House Salad with added roasted asparagus was excellent. Ordered the Margherita, Cherry Tomato with spicy Nduja (sausage) and the Raclette pizzas. Our favorite was the Cherry Tomato with the spicy Nduja and Raclette. Recommend for a casual meal. A great casual place for pizza and salad. Recommend! read more

Really enjoyed their wood fired pizza here. Perfect crust on all their pizzas. We got the Genoa salami and the mushroom pizza. I would definitely get the Genoa again. Great flavours and textures. The mushroom was delicious as well but could use a bit more flavour (like balsamic or just more salt). The restaurant is also super cozy with lots of windows and right by the water. Well worth a try! read more

JOS is a comfortable neighborhood Italian restaurant in Coal Harbor, a block from the waterfront, with stunning views of the mountains. If the weather's nice, there's even patio seating available to enjoy the idyllic setting. The menu is fairly limited - some salads, a charcuterie plate and handful of pizzas. Their pizzas are cooked in an imported Italian wood-fired oven. The crusts have that slightly charred look that you would expect from being cooked in a wood-fired oven. We ordered a Margherita and a Wood Roast Mixed Mushrooms. The mushroom pizza seemed to only have one type of mushroom (so much for the mix) but was executed perfectly. My Nicoise Salad, which came with seared tuna (a selling point), potatoes, eggs, green beans and butter lettuce in a vinaigrette. This simple salad offered a refreshing contrast to our pizzas. The pieces of tuna were on the small side, but the eggs made up for it. They were cooked so that yolks were still bit jammy, with some sea salt flakes sprinkled on top. Utter perfection. Not only was the scenery stunning out the window, but there's also a skylight above, revealing another beautiful view. If we were lucky enough to live in the area, JOS would be one of our regular places to relax and appreciate the Vancouver's beauty, while getting a bite. Should you find yourself in Coal Harbour (or staying at one of the nearby at the Waterfront), JOS makes a lovely spot to spend an hour or two. read more

Great pizza! The skylight is wonderful and the food is delicious. The server didn't put our pizza in until we asked about it. She said she was waiting for us to finish our salad, which is odd since we hadn't touched the like last two bites of our salad for a good ten minutes. Other than that, wonderful experience. read more

Pizza was great! Came here for lunch with a group on a weekday and they were able to seat us. Service was okay, a bit slow given they were slow. Food didn't take too long to come out. Pizzas were made to perfection and were so delicious. They are quite small though - I could eat a whole pizza myself. Menu has a good variety. The place looks really nice with a glass dome (I think it was dome shaped) with a lot of natural light coming in. read more

My coworker and I tried this new restaurant today and it was such a treat! We shared the Niçoise salad and seasonal pizza (roasted asparagus, Gorgonzola, fior di latte, fresh herbs) and found both to be extremely tasty. The pizza had a thin crust which is perfect for lunch and had a wonderful bite from the wood fire oven. The seared tuna on the Niçoise salad was very pleasant and slices of hard boiled egg with a runny yolk was spot on! The server told us they will be updating their menu in celebration of their one month since opening in the next little while, so we are determined to go back soon. Thanks for the delicious meal! read more

This place checks all the boxes! The experience starts the minute you walk in the door with a warm, inviting welcome. They have a great wine and beer selection, and their pizza is just outstanding. I swore I couldn't eat the whole thing, but I did. The sauce and the crust just seem to melt in your mouth and go down so easy. One of the best woodfired pizzas I have ever had. Our server and the bartender, a.k.a. the owner, were two of the nicest most welcoming people we met on our visit to Vancouver. This is a hidden gem and a place we will visit again. read more

Bad welcome service, we arrived at restaurant.there were a couple of free tables. After 5 minutes the server came to us and asked for a few minutes to get the table ready. We stumbled upon this gem after a long day of walking around town. It's a small place with a very nice atmosphere. It's a very German vibe, so be prepared for not super fast service which is a cultural norm there. The point is to relax and enjoy the experience. The pizza is very good but I loved the beer. If you like German and Austrian style beer, this is you place. Highly recommend! read more

I had the mushroom was very good but took a while to make, Salad was amazing. It was quiet when we went in around 5pm

The pizza is always excellent it tastes like you're in Naples Italy. the Pizza chef comes from Naples they have the wood fired for no oven which was custom-made for the owner they use nothing but the finest ingredients including Flora de latte mozzarella cheese, full tomatoes from Italy and the best of everything that has a beautiful view it's right on the waterfront and they have stiegl beer on tap. read more

Simple. Pizza. The way pizza should be served. A wonderful evening enjoying a night out for pizza & salad. The romaine was just divine with clean flavors. An easy menu that makes perfect sense. We also enjoyed the blueberry pie (made by Robert himself) with ricotta, it had just the right level of sweetness to top the meal off. The cool music, friendly owner Robert, fantastic food and beautiful setting made for a perfect meal. read more

There is nothing negative to say about this restaurant. Here are some positives ... the food was absolutely delicious and affordable. We ordered a house salad which was big enough to share and very tasty. We also split a pizza. They use a wood fired oven and the pizza came out to us piping hot. The servers were friendly and very attentive and there was a good variety of imported beers. They also offer indoor and outdoor seating. The location is a few steps away from the beautiful Vancouver waterfront. Give this place a try and you'll love it!!! read more

Overall the restaurant was okay but this could be because I got basic dishes. I got the house side salad and the margarita pizza. The house salad was a typical salad. The pecorino was lovely. The pizza was okay...definitely had better pizza but it satisfied me. I wish there had been more basil cooked into it read more

There is no way I can tell you about the food, we never made it that far. I was here with two of my friends, we were seated at a table and then ignored. We waited for 15 minutes with not even a visit from a server to take a drink order. We watched a dispute between the servers, the food prep people, and a man who I assume was the manager. All in full view of the restaurant. So very unwelcoming. After 15 minutes of waiting, we got up and left. No one even noticed. read more

neighborhood pizzeria and for this neighborhood ... mixed reception, no hello, no good evening, mask under the nose, stained shirt and pants ... I order two pizzas, one Neapolitan with anchovies and the other Neapolitan with spicy sausage, 15 mm later while eating or trying to eat a slice of pizza while crossing the street, each slice flaps, does not hold in hand, tomato sauce stains guaranteed +++ poor cooking and therefore indigestible. let's talk about the pizza itself, the anchovy pizza required a magnifying glass to locate 1/6 of the anchovy per portion !!! the other with spicy sausage contained less than 10 grams per part... read more

Was going to Urban Fair for lunch, and saw this new restaurant, it says wood fried pizza, sounds delicious, and it is delicious! I am not a pizza fan and I was not hungry at that time, the pizza surprised me with the smell, the taste and the freshness, and my friend ordered one to go at the end, like the see-through roof with extra light for taking photos lol, I'll come back again and try other pizza read more

Walking from our hotel we passed this little place and it didn't seem busy so we stopped in. So glad we did! Bread and oil was fantastic, and the beer selection was good too. Finally opened! Yea! I've been looking at this place getting ready for months (over a year I think). We live in the neighbourhood and we're so excited to have a pizzeria opening so close by. We showed up for dinner at 730, a few tables were busy. Good start! One server, 2 managers (or so it looked like) and a chef. Weird that no music is playing; so I told the server.. you guys need music here with a nice smile.. Her answer was: no we don't, that's for the atmosphere. Well, now it's 830 and only 2 of us in the restaurant..... let me tell you there is not much atmosphere! We ordered a Romaine salad (which was delicious) and a pizza (which was just blah). We were never asked if we liked the food or how our experience was (even though there were up to 4 staffs at a certain time) hence I am sharing here. Sadly, I don't think we will be back. Next time we crave pizza we will order in! read more

I was in the area for a business meeting a while back and came here afterwards just to grab something to eat. They were having a lunch special. I did get the veggie pizza which came out nicely. The dough was nicely prepared with not too many burned spots like some places. But enough to give character to the pizza. Service was friendly and we were served in a timely manner. Prices as expected. read more
