The perfect home-made wood fired pizzas. Service was lacking due to short staffed this evening, but quality of food was an "A" and the person in charge (the owner?) was working very hard and did his best to manage the dinner rush hour inside / outdoor dining and take-out. I thought he did well in managing this as he told us before being seated that he was short staffed. (Came here a second time, and again they were short staffed -- so set your expectations). The House Salad with added roasted asparagus was excellent. Ordered the Margherita, Cherry Tomato with spicy Nduja (sausage) and the Raclette pizzas. Our favorite was the Cherry Tomato with the spicy Nduja and Raclette. Recommend for a casual meal. A great casual place for pizza and salad. Recommend!

Really enjoyed their wood fired pizza here. Perfect crust on all their pizzas. We got the Genoa salami and the mushroom pizza. I would definitely get the Genoa again. Great flavours and textures. The mushroom was delicious as well but could use a bit more flavour (like balsamic or just more salt). The restaurant is also super cozy with lots of windows and right by the water. Well worth a try!

JOS is a comfortable neighborhood Italian restaurant in Coal Harbor, a block from the waterfront, with stunning views of the mountains. If the weather's nice, there's even patio seating available to enjoy the idyllic setting. The menu is fairly limited - some salads, a charcuterie plate and handful of pizzas. Their pizzas are cooked in an imported Italian wood-fired oven. The crusts have that slightly charred look that you would expect from being cooked in a wood-fired oven. We ordered a Margherita and a Wood Roast Mixed Mushrooms. The mushroom pizza seemed to only have one type of mushroom (so much for the mix) but was executed perfectly. My Nicoise Salad, which came with seared tuna (a selling point), potatoes, eggs, green beans and butter lettuce in a vinaigrette. This simple salad offered a refreshing contrast to our pizzas. The pieces of tuna were on the small side, but the eggs made up for it. They were cooked so that yolks were still bit jammy, with some sea salt flakes sprinkled on top. Utter perfection. Not only was the scenery stunning out the window, but there's also a skylight above, revealing another beautiful view. If we were lucky enough to live in the area, JOS would be one of our regular places to relax and appreciate the Vancouver's beauty, while getting a bite. Should you find yourself in Coal Harbour (or staying at one of the nearby at the Waterfront), JOS makes a lovely spot to spend an hour or two.

Pizza was great! Came here for lunch with a group on a weekday and they were able to seat us. Service was okay, a bit slow given they were slow. Food didn't take too long to come out. Pizzas were made to perfection and were so delicious. They are quite small though - I could eat a whole pizza myself. Menu has a good variety. The place looks really nice with a glass dome (I think it was dome shaped) with a lot of natural light coming in.

My coworker and I tried this new restaurant today and it was such a treat! We shared the Niçoise salad and seasonal pizza (roasted asparagus, Gorgonzola, fior di latte, fresh herbs) and found both to be extremely tasty. The pizza had a thin crust which is perfect for lunch and had a wonderful bite from the wood fire oven. The seared tuna on the Niçoise salad was very pleasant and slices of hard boiled egg with a runny yolk was spot on! The server told us they will be updating their menu in celebration of their one month since opening in the next little while, so we are determined to go back soon. Thanks for the delicious meal!

Everything is great here! The pizza as you would expect is out of this world; the freshest ingredients, awesome handmade crust and the flavour is fantastic! The atmosphere is beautiful and nicely located just outside the downtown core and right by Coal Harbour, so the view is great too! Make some time to visit this restaurant, they are open Monday to Friday 12-9 and Saturday from 5-9

Simple. Pizza. The way pizza should be served. A wonderful evening enjoying a night out for pizza & salad. The romaine was just divine with clean flavors. An easy menu that makes perfect sense. We also enjoyed the blueberry pie (made by Robert himself) with ricotta, it had just the right level of sweetness to top the meal off. The cool music, friendly owner Robert, fantastic food and beautiful setting made for a perfect meal.

Overall the restaurant was okay but this could be because I got basic dishes. I got the house side salad and the margarita pizza. The house salad was a typical salad. The pecorino was lovely. The pizza was okay...definitely had better pizza but it satisfied me. I wish there had been more basil cooked into it

The service was also great, with multiple people checking in on us. The corkage, at $20, is very reasonable and the restaurant even comp'ed our tiramisu! We will miss it once it is gone. The food was quite decent. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for just pasta, but the portion size was pretty massive -- most of us took leftovers to go. The sauces in general were a bit bland and the pasta was definitely cooked to beyond al dente, which isn't my preference for dried pasta. That said, the toppings were generous, especially for the linguine crab that I ordered (would highly recommend!). Come by before they close permanently!

The veal was juicy and perfectly seasoned and paired with the creamy pasta was perfect. We ended with the panacotta which was fresh, fruity and light! Will definitely be back!!

My friends and I recently shared a few dishes here, and while the flavors were truly impressive,…read morethe portion sizes left us wanting more. We started with the complimentary bread, which was a total highlight. Each person gets a fresh slice that has an incredible crust and a soft, pillowy center--dipping it into the oil and vinegar was the perfect way to start the meal. For our mains, the Gnocchi Asparagi e Funghi was my favorite - the gnocchi themselves were clearly handmade and had a great texture that didn't feel heavy. The earthy mushrooms and asparagus worked really well with the parmesan cream, which was rich but didn't overpower the other flavors. The Squid Ink Linguine ai Frutti di Mare was also solid; the lobster bisque base gave it a deep, savory saltiness that coated the clams, prawns, and scallops perfectly without making the dish feel too "fishy." We also tried the Candele Al Ragù D'Anatra. The duck ragu was tender and savory, and the combination of the parmesan fondue and aged asiago added a nice, sharp saltiness that made every bite really satisfying. Everything we ate was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh, it's just a shame the portions were so small because the flavors were definitely there. The service was excellent and very attentive; I especially appreciated that they were constantly on top of refilling my water throughout the night. The ambience also hit the right note, making it a great spot for a night out. However, the portions are definitely on the smaller side and aren't super filling. Even though every dish tasted amazing, we weren't full by the end of the meal, so it's something to keep in mind if you're arriving with a big appetite.

The seafood ravioli was tasty and I'd have it again. The pappardelle was decent although didn't have as much depth or complexity of flavour as it could've. Service was nice enough. It's a cute, cozy spot in Gastown. Overall, it was just fine but given the abundance of great Italian restaurants in town I probably would go elsewhere when craving pasta.

The restaurant was cute, cozy, and could seat us right away so we decided to give it a try. We got the poached pear salad and enjoyed it! The pears were delicious and a very refreshing salad. It did come with burrata on top which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't gooey at all. For our mains, we split the pesto rigatoni and the special which was also a rigatoni with white wine, capers, shrimp and lemon. First off, the noodles are delicious on both dishes. They are clearly handmade in the best way possible. Very tender, delicate, and almost melt in your mouth. The pesto dish was perfect but again the burrata on top was disappointing since it was sort of tough/dry and not gooey. The special dish was very good but the lemon was quite strong. Initially it was a bit too much but it did grow on you over time and I did like the dish. We ended with a tiramisu and while it was delicious, there wasn't much of the bread/cake/cookie part as it was mostly cream. Overall, it was fun to try a new place but I expected a more for the price point. For $35 per plate plus salad and dessert it was a very expensive dinner and we weren't full.
