Roberto their estimator was on time and professional and their quote was competitive and reasonable. They were able to come and do the work pretty quick after we made our decision to move forward and actually did the work while were out of town. Roberto called once they began to work to confirm everything was ready to go and then Jose called once the work was done to check in. I received an invoice via email immediately after the work was completed and was able to easily pay online with a link they provided. My yard is small but I live on a slope and getting spring maintain done with overgrown weeds, blackberry bushes, and moss is a challenge. This is the 2nd time I worked with Jose's landscaping and I am very pleased with the work. I have the team add more rocks between the pavers and add fabric to keep the weeds at bay. This company is unprofessional, lacks customer service and do not use their online scheduling tool, it's a joke. We tried to schedule them online using their online appt. tool to review a few homes needing work in our neighborhood. I was called the day before the appt. to confirm. I was NOT told that the appt would be canceled if I didn't call back that same day. We have been customers for a few years now and have had a great experience working with Jose's Landscape and Maintenance. About a year ago we hired them for a huge backyard revamp starting with tearing down our old deck and installing brick pavers with steps and a walkway that wraps around our house as well as leveling our entire yard and setting up a retaining wall and shed patio. Workmanship has been spot on and we are very happy with the results. Beyond that they have been quick to reply and resolve any issues that have come up even after the project was completed. He explained it and told me up front it may cost a little more now, but long run the grass would last!! - results - Teo and Hosmann came out to the job themselves and even helped the crew get started. Unfortunately my experience was less than pleasing. They said they'd come at 8:30 am. They knocked to say they arrived but scheduled evidently scheduled my neighbors at the same tome and didn't tell me so didn't get to me until 1:30 pm. I don't usually stay home and wait. Poor communication. The job was severely over estimated for a raking job and they weren't willing to refund the difference or come back to do other work to make it worth the charge. *EDIT* They called and left voicemail this morning because of my review to see what they can do to get me to change the review. I was simply working and have not had a chance to return their calls. Well, they couldn't even give me a full business day to return the call before showing up at my house uninvited to ask me to change the review. This just adds to my original problem of inconsiderate service. There are good reasons for appointments! To include the full story, they offered to do additional work at no charge, which I declined, I'm not trying to take advantage of anyone's business or get anything for free, just leave an honest review. Again, the service is just not compatible for me, I didn't have a good experience, and I'm not going to pretend I did to preserve some excellent track record on Yelp. Geez. I'm glad other people love it, and get my experience could have been an outlier, but I'm definitely not hiring them or asking them for anything! Original: It took 9 different exchanges with their customer service person to get a bid with details on it. i.e. it said 'landscape job for x dollars' and then 'be sure to get detailed information as only what is described here is included.' so, i asked them to add details, thought it was simple request but took a lot of back and forth, wasted time. I was close to getting another bid elsewhere but had already invested so much time. 3 weeks after free estimate, they showed up over an hour late for scheduled appointment. Someone from the office called and asked me to leave a review before the crew was even here and then a second time before the job was even done... Job is ok... the work crew was late and had to ask me what they were here to do, guess even the detailed bid i finally got wasn't shared with the crew. They left a lot of the bush trimmings. Then, they send me an invoice where the only option to pay is to provide my account number and routing number. Whole experience with the office staff is that they are disorganized and unprofessional. We had never had any yard maintenance done but after several years of really "letting the yard go" due to general life busyness we decided to see what it would take to get some professionals out to help clean things up. Jose came out in the early evening after I got home from work to walk the yard and get an idea of what would be required. He was very friendly and asked lots of great questions. The next morning I had a nice written estimate in my e-mail box covering several different options we had discussed. We decided to go all out and went for the "deep clean" option that included full on weeding and mulching of both the front and back yard garden beds, lawn mowing/edging and hauling away all the debris. I did get another company to come out and give an estimate for the same work and Jose's were definitely more reasonable. We decided to go with Jose's and when I let him know I was floored that he offered to come out with a crew the next day and get started. The next day was a hive of activity at our house, with a crew of 9 men working non-stop for 4 hours to transform our yard. My wife reported that all the men were friendly and courteous. I came home from work that evening and was blown away by the transformation of our yard. It looks fantastic! I cannot be more pleased with the results and believe it was well worth the investment. Thank goodness we found Jose's landscaping and maintenance. We have suffered through no show gardeners, ill-equipped landscapers and overpriced mowing services. Then we found Jose's. Beware, do not use this company! They manage the landscaping around my office building and their customer service is horrible! They're argumentative when our property manager asked them to accommodate a schedule change. They're disruptive whole they are maintaining the landscaping. They also think it's ok to use their leaf blowers in front of our doors and chainsaws in front of Windows causing our office to fill with gas fumes. While they "do the job" when it comes to maintaining the landscape, I'd rather spend my money on a company that actually listens to their clients. read more

We needed an invasive clump of bamboo removed from our yard and wanted to replant some of it in wine barrels. Jose's team responded quickly, gave a very reasonable estimate and came out to do the work shortly after. Their timing and communication were excellent. I had great experience from the time Leo came to look at the place, sending me estimates to following up on the estimates. I cannot forget to mention their customer service crew, they are outstanding. They spoke clearly every single time I spoke and listened to me patiently and delivered the message to the concerned. As far as the project is concerned, the crew and Jose himself showed up on time on the day of starting and went thru what all they will be doing on each day and what materials they will use and might need. Jose, was constantly in touch with us if there was any deviation in design or any additional input needed from us. The crew worked really hard and finished the project in less number of days than was initially quoted. We are extremely pleased with the workman ship, communication and also the price. Thank you Jose! Original review - 2017 had a great experience for a Lynnwood yard clean-up, called again this year and whoa. Asked for estimate for yard clean-up and also because we had a large project on yard reconstruction. Roberto was 15-20 minutes late (we later found he left a message from "unknown" caller on my work number about being late about 10 minutes before our appointment). We asked for significant yard clean-up as had been done last year cost (10/2017 $552), they had done a great job 3-people about for 3 hours specifically included dump fees. FOR 2018, GOT A BID FOR SAME SERVICE FOR $2200. Additionally we actually had another landscaper complete a good potion of the work, so clean-up was actually less work than the year before..? Asked Robert why cost was effectively 6x that of last year and was told "last years prices are a different story." Ok, rates are higher this year, not uncommon for how busy this town is. Fine. But further I was told, no apologies btw "I would not be surprised if last year we did not gain any profit from your project..." - I wonder if he checked this? "...you were honestly way under charged last year on top of that the work is worth a full day including the dumping of the debris." Our price last year included 3 people working at our house for about 3 hours and included the dump fees. Why am I being told 10 months later it is something else? I'm still not certain why he didn't simply offer us a price to do a service with the same amount of people and time as last year (which already included dump fees), and as was requested. The way we were responded to felt "condescending" (as another review recently mentioned). Needless to say, we did not book (Roberto also did not ever send us bid for yard reconstruction after spending hour+ giving him all the details..., nor did they quote us for the year-around ongoing lawn and gardening services as requested either....). For many years our yard was my husband's pride and joy...but then his work began taking him away from home more and more. And then my job posted me overseas for the majority of the year. We liked to think we were more or less keeping on top of things with the yard - a neighbor was mowing the front for us, we would attack it with enthusiasm whenever either of us were in town - but then we had a break in. The police made it clear that the overgrown state of the yard - especially the backyard that a greenbelt had seriously encroached on - made us an obvious target for burglars. And that is what led us to contact Jose, and we are very grateful we did! We initially chose him as one of the companies to get a bid from based on reviews here on Yelp and elsewhere online. We chose to hire him, because his service really does live up to the reputation we found online. Here are the points that convinced us: 1. Communication Jose is very good at communicating with potential clients - he even answered his phone on a Sunday morning, when really, I had just been hoping for a voice mail message giving me their working hours. He also responds quickly to all email and voice mail messages. 2. Attention Jose gave his personal attention to our request, coming out to review the yard and prepare the bid himself. He also gives detailed attention to the task at hand - he didn't just glance over the yard; he spent a significant amount of his time walking through every inch of it with me as I pointed out various overgrown landscaping features / plants and explained what to keep / what to disregard & just get rid of. In preparing his bid, he asked good questions about what we preferred, what was okay (pesticides - yes/no; use of a weed whacker on the worst of the overgrown stuff - yes/no; etc.), and noted down things that were important to us - even if it was just a preference. He also gave suggestions I could accept for ways to handle things such as overgrown rhodies, for example, that I was loathe to see pruned. 3. Follow Through After receiving the bid for an initial clean-up with follow-up monthly maintenance, we agreed to the initial clean-up work with agreement to the monthly maintenance service contingent on the clean-up results. The clean-up was amazing. In a single day (albeit ALL DAY) Jose and his crew restored our yard. This was work it would have taken my husband and I months on our own, if we even had a few months' worth of weekends available. The work was done 100% as described both verbally and in the bid, and actually came in just under bid (about $10-$20 less). We were very impressed! We were actually away from home on the day of the clean-up, but several neighbors approached us in the following days commenting on how "this crew of people in trucks just showed up early in the morning, had at it and transformed your yard in a matter of hours" which was reassuring to hear. Plus, the next day when I was there, I could see that even without us being on hand, everything has been completed as promised (ie, Jose really took note of every detail of our discussion during his earlier visit). Plus, we got good feedback from a lot of neighbors on how great it was seeing the yard looking all manicured and taken care of again. This convinced us that we wanted Jose to be the one to keep our yard in shape. It has been a month now since we had the initial clean up, and Jose / his crew have been out as promised to keep the yard mowed and looking trim. It's nice to no longer have to worry about this when we don't have sufficient time to attend to it ourselves! So you can add RELIABLE to the list of reasons we will continue to work with Jose and his company. I will comment that we found the initial clean up bid higher than we had hoped, but the fact is, given the vast amount of work needed and the impressive feat of getting it done all in about 8 hours, it really was very reasonable. And we find his monthly maintenance rates also to be completely reasonable. We are satisfied both with the work and the rates and definitely would recommend Jose to anyone looking for a skilled and reliable provider for yard work / landscape maintenance! read more

Hired them for a fall yard cleanup in November. Mowing was decent but they almost killed my hydrangea, which I had asked them not to cut, as well as my butterfly bush. My contact for this was Lena Gomez and when I contacted her again to schedule and mow and lawn care for the spring, she set a time and then didn't show up. I had to email her asking if she was coming, to which she replied they were coming later and when I commented on how unprofessional this was, she invited me to find another gardener. Hoss came over promptly to give us an estimate for the work that needed to be done, which included removal of a large poisonous plant we had in our yard. We received the quote and liked the price, but removed a few things that we decided to do ourselves. Maye gave us another quote to reflect that. We went with it and Maye had the job scheduled right away. Joaquin came on time and worked diligently the entire time. The poisonous plant was removed completely... Root and all. Additionally, all of the weeds we had growing were completely removed as well. When the job was done, Joaquin made sure that everything was to my liking. They hauled all of the yard waste away. The crew did a great job re-sodding our front lawn. The pricing was comparable to others but the responsiveness, follow through, and quality of service was great. I called on Thursday, received the quote from Leo on Friday, and by next Tuesday I had a great looking front Lawn. They also jumped in last minute to help with the sprinkler. Another company inspected and gave me a quote to replace the controller for more than $500. Jose had Leo drop by just before he left on vacation. Leo found the problem in less than 30 minutes! We hired them based on yelp reviews and severely regret it. At first, they were diligent and did a reasonable job. However, after just a couple of months, they started cutting corners. We'd stay home so we could talk to them and tell them what needed to be done. Every time, they would say that they needed to talk to their boss before doing what we requested and that they had to run to their next job. Absolutely terrible. They are in it for quick cash. They have team descend on your property and they mow, cut, maul and destroy and get out as fast as possible. Despite numerous emails, countless photos sent, constant reaching out, they kept to their plan. I never had any weeding, never any fertilizer, bushes destroyed (they kept cutting back rosemary in the garden as if it was a bush not an herb - despite me asking twice to stop cutting it back). I was looking for a company to help me repair my front lawn, which mainly involved weed killing, thatching and over-seeding the lawn. I contacted Jose's Landscape to set up an appointment for a free estimate for the work as I was looking to support a local company. Anyway, the initial meeting for the estimate they no showed. I called them to find out what happened, and they said that the person I spoke with had forgot to input the appointment into the calendar. I was willing to just forget it and set up another time for them to come do the estimate. After setting up that time, they called me afterwards and said that they would need to reschedule to a later time in the day, which I agreed to. They then no showed AGAIN, and did not follow up with me. I haven't heard anything from them. I see that this same thing happened to someone else in one of the other yelp reviews.. read more
