I talked to multiple contractors - some who just didn't call back, a few who said they couldn't (wouldn't) build the fence I wanted, and frankly, a few that I just didn't like. Gerardo showed up, chatted with me about what I wanted, took measurements, and gave me a bid on the spot. I was moving into a house I was rehabbing and needed a portion of this fence done right away because I have a dog and he hustled to not only build the new portion I needed, but went out of his way to do some repairs on the existing fence to keep my dog safe and secure. He and the people working for him showed a lot of attention to detail, checked in with me often about the project to make sure it was coming along and looking as I expected, and every day at the end of the day the work site was clean and organized. Giving them 1 star for the poor communication. Sent them communication via yelp. I wanted my backyard to be leveled and some walking steps to be added. They asked me technical questions on the grade for my backyard and the kind of material i need for the steps, which i had no clue about. So I told them that i would need guidance. They sent me a very lengthy message. Whoever was responding, was in the field and took time out to respond and didnt like that I had not done my due diligence. They told me that the market has changed and they need their customers to do some research. Then they gave me an arbutrary deadline to join a COMPLIMENTARY 10min call. The number of red flags in 1 message exchange. First of all, if you are in the field don't respond to the message or hire someone who can do it without getting upset that their customer do not know what they need. read more

We used Gerard's to build two small retaining walls on either side of our driveway. He was very responsive from first quote, to completion. Also to show up on short notice to re measure after we changed ideas for a new quote. Him and his men were fast and performed high quality work and craftsmanship. He wasn't pushy or hesitant at all, and didn't try to up sell us on materials. He went to several locations to find the exact materials for our project, and sent us photos to make sure that's what we wanted. He didn't blink an eye when we brought up huge projects for next year. He can do anything, and if he can't, his network is big and his friends can, decks, fences, land clearing, roofing, dirt work, and everything in-between. They were about 2 weeks out in terms of scheduling but I was not in a rush. The only area where I'd probably take away 0.5 stars is lack of clarity in initial communication. I had numerous "trees" in my flower beds and yard, coming from seeds that had fallen from the parent tree. They were everywhere! Smothering my roses, growing through the rhodie bush, everywhere. I had cut them down before but they quickly grew back, and I needed somebody to come in and take them out by the roots. Gerardo and his crew did exactly that, quickly and efficiently, and for a fair price. They even cleaned up around the tree itself and at the side of the house, though that wasn't in the contract. I needed some yard clean-up done (weeds, trim bushes and trees, etc.) so I did some Yelp quotes. Everyone was booked, including Gerard, but unlike the others Gerard said he would make time to pop over to my house and see the scope of work. Once he did and realized it would be a fairly small job, he gave me a very reasonable quote and said he would try and fit it into his schedule and asked about my timeframe. I thought I had a few weeks, but my HOA was breathing down my neck, so I contacted Gerard about a week later and asked if he could fit it in sooner. He responded that he could do it Friday afternoon. Friday afternoon Gerard and a worker showed up and went to work. They were friendly, and worked quickly, and were receptive to my partner as she kept tossing in additional small requests. They cleaned everything up beautifully and left the place in a much better state than they found it. Throughout the process Gerard was friendly and responsive. I don't even know where to begin describing the experience I had working with Gerard. He came over to give me a quote for extending my cement patio and putting 8 ft gravel pathways on 3 sides of my yard. When he was here to give me an estimate, he suggested pavers and showed me a couple of pictures of work they had. I went with it and I'm so glad I did! It looks so much better than the cement. Gerard and his crew worked really hard (I have a big backyard) and he checked with me, answered questions and made recommendations the entire. The suggestions he made were to make the yard better and did not change the amount of the project. He was really great about advising me when he would be working and when he was unavailable. They worked Saturdays and part of Sunday. I was so impressed, I offered him another job. He accepted it and now he is finished. I love how it looks and found the price to be very fair. I'd used the request a quote tool and was then sent an email back requesting more info about services, my budget, etc., along with an undertone of annoyance that a competive quote was being requested. I said I'd appreciate the chance to meet and discuss in person, but understood if not as the email response made it appear an in-person meeting was a special honor. I first contacted Gerard well into peak season to get a quote on multiple jobs around the house (moss removal, lawn repair and replanting, tree removal and pruning, bush trimming, mulch replenishment, full cleanup). It was a big job me and my wife had been nibbling at for months without progress. Gerard's Landscaping did a fantastic job with the overgrown, weedy, and dead vegetation in our backyard. They went above and beyond what I expected, and my husband and I were very impressed with how much better our yard looked. They disposed of some blackberry bushes, rhododendrons, and an unsightly juniper bush, in addition to mowing and weed whacking. Initially there was some difficulty trying to schedule a visit for a quote and then schedule a time for service. However, I did contact them in the middle of summer wanting a one-time service, and knew it might be hard to find a time for us all to meet. Gerard was a fantastic find for me, I am so happy that we connected! I received a reply from him right away when I asked for a quote. Gerard came out the same day, he actually moved some things around to accommodate my schedule...this was on a Tuesday. By Thursday Gerard sent me a written quote (he verbally quoted the job on Tuesday). By Saturday of the same week Gerard and his crew began the project. I can't say enough about the professionalism, courteousness and cleanliness of the whole team. Every day after the work was performed, the job site was cleaned up and ZERO trash or personal effects were left behind. Our project consisted of a French Drain, Stone steps to a raised area, some planting and a Flagstone Pathway. This was done on a newly constructed and landscaped home.
