However, despite several follow-ups from my side from past 3-4 months, I never received a quote/proposal, or any suggestions from him. While I appreciate his friendly nature and the time he spent visiting my home, I ultimately felt that my project was not being prioritized or ignored.. The lack of follow-up and communication was disappointing and resulted in several months of wasted time for both of us.

He clearly decided he did not want to do my irrigation project, but instead of communicating, he strung me along and made promises he never intended to keep. To this day he has still not finished the job and we started May 10th 2026. Jordan and his crew were conscientious and considerate. Our original agreement was to complete a sidewalk and the patio and the retaining walls. I later added modifying my deck. I did engage my attorney yesterday to see what next steps are to get Brandon to perform. Brandon called my phone twice recently and didn't leave a message about what he was calling about. Then he scolded me about not returning his calls. I informed him if you do not leave a message. I think you butt dialed me. I'm not going to waste my time returning a call when I have no idea if you intended to call or what you were calling about. I do know that he likes to fish and hunt and will drop what he's doing to go do that. I did give him a number of opportunities to make good and not breach our contract before engaging my attorney. I did the U-haul service and I would get it delivered if I did it again. Less hassle, no cleanup of equipment, etc. The rub for me was that I was doing it completely alone and needed the time the U-Haul trailer would afford me. But I would just pay some helping hands from Home Depot or call some friends to wheelbarrow from the delivery truck if I did it again. Dropping off the U-Haul trailer in time and finishing concrete are not 2 things you want to do at the same time. Nor do you want to worry about cleaning out the trailer right after pouring all that concrete. Personally, I ended up spilling 2 wheelbarrows worth of concrete onto the driveway due to my wheelbarrow failing. Luckily I had a backup wheelbarrow in anticipation of this. Word to the wise, don't overfill your wheelbarrow and make sure it is vertical to the concrete container when dumping, as opposed to horizontal (perpendicular) to it. Good luck!

We had a nightmare large strip of bamboo, along our driveway, and running on top of our underground utilities, which turned out to be buried less deep than legally required. After a year of chopping cables and only making headway on our bank account, not on controlling the bamboo, the other company suggested ripping it out. And then gave us basically a "no bid" and walked away. Calluna's came in, locked in a reasonable bid, outlined the work, reassured us constantly that they were looking forward to getting it done, showed up only a week later, spent only 3 days, carefully hand digging around utilities, then skillfully backhoeing, finally finishing up and cleaning up much better than we could have imagined. Even the neighbors are making positive comments. The driveway strip has never looked better. We have to let it lie fallow for a year while we chase down straggler rhizomes, but it already looks better than it has since we moved in many years ago. The Calluna's bid was very reasonable and they went above and beyond what they outlined in the bid, and were a pleasure to work with. Call them for a bid! You will not regret it!
