I had to lower the top to fix a telescoping motor on the steering column. It was down for a couple of days and then raised after I completed the fix. Went back to shop, Byron was out of town and I showed the problem to an assistant, who said he would show to owner when he came back in a week. This car has spent most of the time in my garage and only 5000 miles since 2019. Called Byron today and he was upset from my previous review. I sent several emails to him starting 6 days after I got the car home in 2019. I detailed with pictures the issues I found. At the time Byron responded "no excuses you should not have found the things you did. That's not how we normally let cars leave". My review just detailed the issues I found. Today Byron told me the top was out of 5 year warranty and he would not do the job even if I paid him. He protested that they always did quality work.

He's now in No. San Jose working out of his garage which means that you get high quality, reliable work for even better prices. I found him to be VERY responsive, and easy to work with. He was 30% less than my other estimate, and he obviously knows how to do the work at a high level. I am happy to recommend him for consideration for your auto upholstery needs. I plan on having him do a seat repair on an '89 Carrera in the near future (-:

First off want to point out that I do not want to trash a small business owner working out of his…read morehome garage trying to earn a living. I simply want to point out the truth and experience and as a recent reviewer wrote I wonder how he gets excellent reviews when he can improve his business in several ways. Let me start with his attitude. Because English isn't his first language he overcompensates by showing confidence in how he talks and comes off arrogant to a normal person. But of course I am willing to overlook this because all I care about is getting the value and end result of my project. I conclude he only talks the way he does because he wants to show he isn't some minority that is ready to be exploited. Ok so I get that.. And his loud voice is simply because he is hard of hearing. I confirmed that because the guy I asked to drop my items off to him yelled back at him and Enrique said why are you yelling at me, and he said because you raise your voice first. Enrique then said its because he is hard of hearing. Now onto the work. 1) I believe Enrique isn't used to dealing with higher end quality cars. I wanted alcantara material on my headliner that matches what I already have. I brought to him my own true alcantara fabric. He wanted to give me some fake material instead and said mine was not the stretchable kind. So I reorder another set of padded fabric and he still says it's wrong but tried the job anyway. Shown in the pics is his incomplete job and the work another shop finished where Enrique couldn't. 2) he asked for a deposit before the job and as someone indicated only accepts cash. Why ask a deposit when you have all my material and it's you who owes me a job done? You have my material so if I don't pay you I have nothing. 3) fortunately he gave me my deposit back because he couldn't finish and I brought it to another shop that got the job done. I believe he's ok for the basic work, but because he didn't complete it I can't give him an acceptable rating. Instead of giving 1 star I give 2 stars because he gave my money back without too much resistance.

It was perfect except the method of attachment was slightly different from the standard factory version of my existing visor. The service dept at Sunnyvale VW offered to install it, but when I took it there, I was informed by three different people that there was no way it could be modified to fit properly. They said I should try to find the original factory-made part or go to an auto trim shop and see if they could somehow replace the broken mirror with the new one. I contacted Mountain View Auto Interiors, and Jimmy was WONDERFUL. It was just before his closing time on a Friday, but he was willing to WAIT for me!!
