Stripped screws on the lock.

Terrible workmanship and terribly run business. I was told they'd have my motorcycle seat done in a week and to pick it up on Friday. Luckily I called before I went in since they weren't ready. They asked if I could pick it up Saturday and I said sure. I gave them until Monday. Drove down only to find that they didn't touch the seat. They said to come the next morning so I did. There were wrinkles all over, I said this looks terrible and I could have done this myself. They tried to makes excuses in that the material isn't very good and doesn't stretch, I said there are plenty of examples online where the covering looks fine and I sent you guys the installation video, did you look at it? I was told to come back in the morning. I came back around 12:30, seat wasn't done, but it was almost done. I found a staple almost poking though the seat, they just removed it. There were still wrinkles where the strap went, which I told them I did not want the strap on it. They made an excuse it's wrinkled because that is where the strap goes. I said fine. I went home and removed the wrinkles with my staple gun... The only reason I paid an upholsterer to do the work was because I didn't want to buy a pneumatic staple gun. I could have done the job just as well with my mechanical gun practically. I put the seat on my bike and turned the key to lock it in and heard a part fall. I noticed the clip was bent that helped hold the lock on, and the screws were totally stripped. See the picture. Terrible business, terrible service and workmanship. I'd complain and get my money back, but I honestly don't want to deal with them. I wish I bought the stupid pnematic gun and did the work myself... with CARE. Negative stars if I could

Did a fantastic job replacing the headliner of my 17 year old Honda. Very courteous, timely, cost effective, and great quality work.

There are a lot of shops out there that can slap on a precut or pattern cut PPF for a good price and call it a day. But SVC is not that kind of shop. My full body PPF was custom cut with full edge wrapping. The ceramic coating on the wheels was meticulous with each wheel unmounted, detailed, and treated. And the entire 3 row SUV got a proper paint correction before anything else happened. I know this because I didn't mention a paint blemish on the hood when I got the bid from SVC, it was a big bird dropping stain square in the middle. But when I got the car back the finish was perfect. This was a blemish Hyundai of Fremont sent to their detail crew to clear up when the car was brand new, and they couldn't completely fix it! SCV work is top shelf. Eli even texted me a vid of his crew working on the individual wheels dismounted from the car. This is a boutique shop that does first rate work for businesses and high-end car owners, and they do it at a very competitive price. The shop is meticulous and, looking at the quality of the motor vehicles getting serviced there, I had no problems leaving my brand new $60k SUV for the work I wanted. Also, Eli does not nickel and dime you. He treats you with respect, and everything about the service I had at SVC showed a genuine concern for customer satisfaction. Let's face it, a full PPF and ceramic coating of a full-size SUV including the wheels (not just the wheel faces) is a big investment. An investment that demands quality work and professionalism throughout the process. Eli and the crew at SVC delivers.

I knew I wanted Borla ATAK system and the guys at TDW really came through for me. The parts arrived within a week's time and my appointment was set. I can't express how good of an experience it was. From start to finish I felt like my car was in capable and caring hands, which is such a relief. I was given a complete breakdown of the labor and part costs so there were no surprises. I can't say that it's the cheapest option around, but I'd gladly pay a little more knowing that my car is in good hands and won't come back with an empty tank, extra miles, and a new ticking noise that magically pops up. TDW delivers pristine work and they have a long time customer in me. I'll be coming back for a simple oil change soon!

**1 STAR -- A MECHANIC'S SNAP-ON PUNCH WAS LEFT INSIDE MY TESLA AFTER TDW'S SUSPENSION…read moreINSTALLATION.** **The tool was lodged in the front-left area of my vehicle, near the A/C compressor and brake lines. Removing it immediately eliminated every noise I had been experiencing since TDW worked on my car.** This is easily one of the worst automotive repair experiences I've had. I brought my Tesla Model 3 to TDW Auto in San Jose for the installation of Mountain Pass Performance suspension components. The installation cost approximately $1,376. My vehicle was quiet when I delivered it. After the installation, I began experiencing unusual rattling, clicking, and clunking noises, particularly from the front-left area. What should have been an exciting upgrade became weeks of wasted time, mechanical uncertainty, and frustration. I contacted TDW repeatedly to resolve the situation. There were additional adjustments and discussions about potential causes. At one point, items in my frunk were suggested as a possible source. I also made multiple trips to Tesla Service trying to understand what was wrong with my vehicle. Eventually, TDW provided estimate #5494 totaling **$2,497.92**, covering six front control arm assemblies, two sway bar end links, and an alignment. I wasn't opposed to paying for necessary repairs. My car has over 131,000 miles, and some original lower control arm bushings are deteriorating. But I wanted an independent physical inspection before spending another $2,500. **On October 27, 2026, my neighborhood mechanic discovered the actual source of the noises: a Snap-on 5/32-inch metal punch lodged in the front-left area of the vehicle.** The punch was contacting nearby components, including areas around the A/C compressor and brake lines. **He removed the tool. Every single noise disappeared. Immediately.** The deteriorated lower control arms were still installed. Nothing about their condition had changed. No other shop had performed mechanical work on my vehicle between TDW's installation and this discovery, other than the local mechanic who found the punch. I photographed the tool and immediately informed TDW. Will's initial response was: "I'm not going to make you drive all the way back to return it so you may keep it if you wish." Read that again. After weeks of noise complaints, service visits, and concern about the mechanical condition of my vehicle, his response was that I could keep the tool. Only after I replied, "buddy that's all you have to say?" did I receive an apology. Will called the incident a "learning experience," said it was a first for them, and expressed relief that the problem was resolved. **What was missing was any meaningful acknowledgment of the time, expense, and disruption this incident had caused me.** I understand that mistakes happen in automotive repair. What separates a trustworthy shop from an untrustworthy one is how those mistakes are investigated and addressed. In my experience, TDW failed on both fronts. I spent weeks pursuing a problem that disappeared the moment an independent mechanic removed a foreign metal object from my car. And I nearly authorized thousands of dollars in additional work before that discovery. I have photographs of the punch, the original installation records, the additional repair estimate, and the text messages exchanged with TDW. **If you are considering TDW Auto for suspension installation, I strongly recommend reconsidering.** I would not return to this business under any circumstances. At least I got a free Snap-on punch out of the experience.

Check the photos for just how badly they messed up our car, and ask yourself if this is what you want your car to look like. I initially visited this business in late 2025. I, like you and countless other prospective clients, saw that they are a well-reviewed and mature car wrap serving the Bay Area, and they are even certified Inozetek wrap dealers. Unfortunately, I had the (mis?)fortune of totaling my car that year and wasn't able to do the wrap with them. However, I held them in high regard and was eager to recommend the shop to all of my friends. When my boyfriend bought a Lotus Emira in the summer of 2026, I eagerly recommended that he bring his car to Carmodz, and so we brought the car together under my advice. We were greeted by Brandon. They had a GT3RS parked out front and he opened up the doors to let us inspect the corners. I let him know we were looking for a high quality wrap job, meaning tucking the wrap into all the edges and corners. This is where the miscommunication begins. He shows us the GT3RS, we compliment the corners and see that it's tucked well, and I remember distinctly saying that we're looking for this kind of quality. So we got around to pricing, and we agree on $4200. After a few hours of leaving it at the shop, we notice the car isn't being worked on, since there was no availability until the next week to start, so we took the car out with a $1000 down payment. The day after we get a facetime complaining about water spots. They demanded we pay them extra money to polish off the spots. My boyfriend said that we definitely wanted to address that before starting the wrap and that they should call us back with the actual quote (they called us without having a number of how much it would cost). After a few hours we found out they had already started the "polish" and said we would just have to pay. They quoted us a much higher number, and we said no you started working on our car without confirming the price, but we'll still pay $200. They messaged my boyfriend later telling him that they were mad he let me talk during the phone call, and that they only wanted to talk to him, not his partner, because it's not my car? So we leave them to continue with the job, letting them know that we would like the car for Monterey car week, but we never implied in any capacity to them that we would like the job to be rushed and compromise on quality for this specific event. The week leading up to the first weekend, they message us to say the car is ready. We show up, and find the car in this state (pictured). I run around the shop with my boyfriend, agitated that this has happened, and we express our frustration to the shop techs. Apparently the owners already left for Monterey car week. So absolutely we did not take delivery or make the rest of the payment. The shop techs seemed stressed and called Mario, who was very dismissive of our concerns. That night, Brandon calls my boyfriend. The same shpiel on the film being precut and not a custom "full lay", to which we were indignant that on the day we agreed to let them do the work, they heavily implied they would be doing a full lay on our car like the GT3RS, and conveniently forgot to clarify this until the wrap was on the car and it was too late to stop the work. And then, Brandon lays into my boyfriend, demanding to know what girl he brought to pick up the car, and demanding that communication needs to be between him and my boyfriend alone. Says he pulled the camera footage from the shop and saw us running around the car and like telling all the imperfections to the shop techs, who called Mario, to which Brandon is like, why are you talking to Mario, everything you do should be through me, now you got someone else involved and I look bad etc. So there are rules on who you can talk to in the shop now if you get your car wrapped here? We go in person to check on the car and sign their newly proposed contract, and both Mario and Brandon are there. Mario seems somewhat apologetic and they admit that they didn't check the car before it was released to us. They ended up being extremely rude to us so we end up taking the car back and going with someone else. *all of the photos posted were taken on my phone by me, and I was present for everything reported in this review *i wrote and stand behind every word of this review, this is my experience and no one else's
