DO NOT COME HERE. TLDR: everything is very rushed, sloppy work, forgot a part of my procedure. Quick to recommend dental procedures and unnecessary dental work. This review is for the Kelly . I came here for a tooth cleaning, it was the fastest and most painless teeth cleaning I've had. Which would have been great... but they didn't feel that clean after. They told me I had a small cavity and needed to get it filled so I made an appointment a week later and here's where it gets worse. (I've had this almost cavity for years. So I'm certain it can't be too deep, other dentists even said it was ok to have it left alone) During the filling, I felt like she was filing for a while, I can't be sure but I just have a suspicion she filed off a lot after what happened the rest of the filling and reading the rest of the reviews. She mentioned to me that the enamel was compromised on the tooth adjacent to the cavity so she filed it down to smooth it out. I'm no dentist but how does it make sense to shave off more protective enamel if It's already weak?? Near the end she's rushing to get my retainer to fit my teeth and does this by filing my retainer down and runs off to work on another patient. On the way out I mention to the nurse my tooth feels rough and they bring me back to the chair when she admits that she forgot to polish my filling. After a very brisk 15 second polishing she asks me to check for any more rough areas.... (Shouldn't that be a dentists job to be thorough and careful? Half my mouth is numb.. how am I supposed to know?). Anyway, the numbness has worn off and my tooth is still a bit rough. I left and I'm never going back read more

By far the worst experience I have ever had with a dentist. I visited Dr. Lee's office in September 2021, for a root canal and crown and after 4 months, the crown fell out. I went to go see endodontics who informed me that I had to have a 2nd root canal on the same tooth. I provided Dr. Lee's office with this information, and at first, Dr. Lee agreed to a refund but then rescinded his offer. Again, the procedure was done in September 2021 and the crown fell off in December 2021. Although I don't think they did anything negligent regarding the root canal, they are 100% negligent for the ill-fitting crown. If you look at the photo Dr. Lee's office grounded down my tooth so small that I have to get a restorative dental procedure that involves replacing missing tooth structure with special filling material so that it can successfully support a dental crown. Dr. Lee's office caused financial harm and extensive dental work. As a single mom of two kids now - I have to pay for their mistakes. I personally cannot recommend them, and if you are a current patient, I highly suggest you get a second opinion. read more

Particularly impressive was the level of technology in this office - far exceeding my previous dentist of 20 yrs (we moved to Palo Alto - I consulted 3 dentists before choosing Dr Lee) - 3 d image of my teeth from an optical device, cadcam machine to build crowns, etc. Example: he prepared my tooth for a new crown, fabricated it in his office, put it in 2 days later, and he was unsatisfied with the way it sat in my mouth, so he removed it, and fabricated a new one while I waited - and put it in. Never thought my wisdom teeth removal can be so smooth and painless, Dr. Lee is so nice and patient, but what's more important is that he's skills of removing my two bottom horizontal wisdom tooth make me think that this is a super easy operation. This is the place that fixed my decades of poor hygiene. My new dentist says that my tooth and gum health are in incredible condition. The sole reason I have a new dentist is because I live ~2 hours away with traffic. I used to regularly drive 1 hour to come here because the staff and doctors are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and really care about helping you understand your unique dental needs. Up through my 20s I cared a lot about my dental hygiene but didn't really know how to best take care of my teeth, and had a ton of recession, bad breath, a few poorly done fillings, and a misaligned bite. Turns out that there's no one solution, and the only way is to have a dentist and hygienist who build a long-term treatment and A/B test different solutions in collaboration with you. The MVAD team is always happy to answer questions and is very friendly from the admin to hygienists to doctors. They're equally great if you're in a hurry and just want to be in and out and receive consistently skilled treatment It wasn't until a family member of mine finished dental school that I really saw how incredible the MVAD team was. They're more than skilled practitioners. They're genuinely interested in getting to know their patients and have that spark of curiosity that leads to unique insights and stellar patient outcomes. They explain things patiently and without judgment, and the admin team is incredibly responsive, fast, and friendly. I had a lot of issues finding reliable dentists that I could trust, but this was the first dentist in a long time that I found to be extremely informative and honest about what I actually needed versus not. They explain with photos and help ensure you understand so that you an make your own informed decision. I remember I verbally shared how much I appreciated that to one of the staff (I forget if she was a dental assistant?) and she mentioned that it's important to because there is so much accessible information out there and they want to make sure that you're always in the loop too. Everyone here really cares about your experience and constantly check in to see if they can make anything more comfortable. I have really sensitive teeth and absolutely hate teeth cleanings, but they are so gentle here! I remember I first had Spring do them and others after her were just as great. The goodie bags are always a nice gift too! Along with the staff, dental hygienists & assistants, I really enjoy my experiences with Dr. Joe and Dr. Chen- they're so personable, authentic and great at walking me through what they are doing/have done so that I understand my different teeth situations better. I also recently had a tooth filling that kept acting up and they always made the time to fit me into their schedule to see them soon and get it adjusted. I am so glad we were referred to Dr. Joseph Lee by our pediatric dentist. His office is very clean and new. His staff was friendly and helpful. They immediately brought in an extra chair for Mama, and brought in a Pop It and stress squeeze toy in the shape of a tooth to ease my child's anxiety throughout the procedure. Kudos to his dental assistant, Anna, who is so great with little kids! Dr. Lee is so caring and thorough. After the procedure, he even gave Vitamin E pills and instructed us to use the oil to help with the wound healing over the next 3 days. I was so amazed at his knowledge and this level of attention to detail. He even followed up later as he had promised. You can tell De. Lee is kind and well-loved by all his staff. One of them even popped in to whine about her schedule and negotiate for a different opening day, and another to ask which CD burner is working, LOL. Been going here since 2016 without a single issue. Even worked with my old terrible insurance for months to get me set up with sleep appliance without breaking the bank on my end. Dr. Chen and the whole team are phenomenal. We just moved back to the area and I'm glad to have found them! I had three visits this week (routine checkup, cavity filling, quick fix on the filling they were able to squeeze me in for) and each time the team was kind, prompt, caring, and super easy to work with. They scheduled me in quickly and always greeted me with a warm welcome. Dr. Chen is wonderful and a true asset to the practice! I am currently a service member stationed in Mountain View. I called the office because one day my filling fell out. They were able to schedule me in. Once I arrived they took me to the back to look at tooth. Rather than doing a full oral exam they literally took a camera to the one tooth which the filling fell out and proceeded to tell me that I needed a crown or a root canal. The impression they gave off was trying to sell me on paying out of pocket for a crown. I persisted and said that I'd like my insurance to pay for it. Upon leaving the dentist I was told they would send up the claim. Fast forward a few weeks and I get call stating insurance denied the crown and that I should try giving them a call to approve it. I wanted to get a second opinion. So I went to another dentist where they did a full oral exam including X-rays. They literally got the same claim approved in less than three days. I'm not quite sure if they are used to military insurance plans, but I'm glad I got a second opinion . read more

Dr Lee has been taking care of my family's oral health for 8 years now, and we couldn't haven been more satisfied. As far as dental treatment goes, I've done it all: orthodontics, TMJ treatment, crowns, deep cleaning.... And Dr. Lee has always delivered. As my third orthotist, not only did he fix the complications induced by my previously unsuccessful orthodontic treatments, correct my alignment & bite, but also cure my long-term headaches, all at a very reasonable price. Front desk person did not explain billing well and on one of my visits quoted a very large bill which was not detailed. After contacting the dentist, we adjusted the bill to a reasonable amount.
