    Dr. Kimberley Kim, DDS
    Robert C.

February 2025 I was chewing macadamia nuts when something cracked. One of my root canal teeth broke off at the gum line and was not retrievable. Had to have an extraction and then an implant done. Talk to my next door neighbor and his girlfriend had had implants done and I smile dental in Sunnyvale. First of three implants done by Dr Kimberly Kim of I smile dental. State of the art facilities for dental extraction, bone marrow transplant, abutment construction, and fitting of new implant tooth. Main complaint is that some of the state-of-the-art techniques were still experimental and not necessarily easy to do pricing varied from $4,000 to $9,000 per tooth depending on location and size of tooth. My dental insurance would cover $2,000 per year in implant cost. Each implant requires four visits. Visit one is extraction and bone marrow transplant to extracted area. This needs to be done ASAP to minimize gum infection. Visit 2 3 months later is abutment where they put him micro screw inside the base of the enamel. Visit 3 3 months later is fitting and putting on temporary tooth. Visit 4 is putting in the permanent tooth. Three successful implants performed here on my three root canal teeth. The most painful part is the extraction of the broken tooth whereas everything else is a breeze. By the way I've stopped eating macadamia nuts

I had a sudden toothache over the weekend while my primary dentist was traveling, so I visited iSmile as an alternative. While the appointment process was smooth and I was able to get an immediate visit, the actual experience with Dr. Park was incredibly concerning. After the assistant efficiently took three X-rays of my left side (upper and lower), Dr. Park came in and immediately asked about the pain on my "right" side. I politely corrected her, but she seemed confused and continued to mention the right side. When she began the exam, she started checking my lower teeth--I had to remind her multiple times that the pain was in my upper teeth. The confusion continued when she couldn't seem to operate the computer to find my X-rays, even suggesting I needed more taken until I reminded her we had just finished three. Once she finally located the correct slides, she simply pressed on the tooth and declared I needed a root canal. When I asked what the X-ray showed to justify such a major procedure, she told me, "Something X-rays can't show now, but you need a root canal." If a dentist cannot distinguish between left and right or upper and lower jaws, I cannot trust them with my dental health. I would strongly advise against seeing Dr. Park. I have already put this office on my "black list" and will never return. After checking other Yelp comments, I see tons of other one-star reviews echoing similar frustrations. The management seriously needs to pay attention to these complaints and focus on major improvements. I strongly suggest everyone avoid iSmile. There are far better, more professional options in the area.

I had two lower wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lee, about 1 week apart. I highly recommend Dr. Lee…read more Here's the rundown: For lower wisdom teeth extraction, there is always the risk of nerve damage. Dr. Lee has a lot of experience when it comes to evaluating this risk, and he uses surgical techniques to avoid nerve damage. That is the #1 reason why I recommend Dr. Lee for lower wisdom teeth removal. Typically, your dentist will x-ray the tooth, evaluate it, and refer you to Dr. Lee. Ask your dentist to email the x-ray to Dr. Lee. For both of my wisdom teeth, the dentist x-ray was sufficient; Dr. Lee did not need to take additional pano x-rays to evaluate the situation. Very convenient, and it avoids radiation. If your wisdom tooth is an "easy extraction" and not impacted, go for local anesthesia (Novocaine) instead of IV sedation. Dr Lee is great at injecting Novocaine and NOT hitting a nerve. During the extraction, you will not feel pain; you only feel pressure. You can drive yourself to/from the clinic, and there are fewer limitations on eating/drinking beforehand. It's also cheaper than IV sedation. During the extraction, for the lower wisdom teeth, they may use a hammer and chisel to crack the tooth into pieces before pulling out the roots; that is a little unnerving, but not a big deal. Dr Lee is fast; he extracted each tooth in about 7 minutes. Dr. Lee has an assistant in the operating room who is highly skilled; that person does quite a bit of the work (the aforementioned hammer/chisel). It is freezing cold in the operating room. Wear thick pants and a long sleeve shirt. They have a blood pressure cuff constantly checking your blood pressure, so avoid thick fleece/sweaters. For lower wisdom teeth, you'll need to irrigate the socket after eating, for up to 6 weeks; not a big deal, just be aware of it.

Quick extraction, slight pressure but no real pain. Healing great with no issues. Would do it again…read moreif needed Thanks Dr. Lee & Assistant Atalia

Wisdom teeth removal from the doctor went well. Office staff was ok. Having trouble understanding…read morethe billing department though. ---- My in-network dentist referred me to this office for wisdom teeth removal. I made an appointment for a consultation in June. You likely will not be seen at the time you've booked as a lot of other appointments go over. Paid $100 for a CT scan on my consultation day, and got an estimated bill of charges for what they were gonna do. I was ok scheduling a bit earlier and paying a higher portion of the final charge while they waited for my insurance co-pays to be authorized. (Mistake! :'D) 2 weeks later, I get my procedure done with local anesthesia. Waited an 45 mins past my appointment time, but it went fairly quick when I was seen and wasn't too painful during and afterwards. Got instructions for aftercare and a follow up call from the doctor. It's been healing ok. Now as for the Billing Department.... 1 month after my procedure I get a copy of my EOB Authorization from my insurance. I'm reading it like ok cool I should have no existing balance, but the authorization date threw me off... it was submitted after my procedure instead of when I initially visited for the consultation? Then to my surprise, the office also sent me a bill showing that the copays I was authorized for... did not apply? Instead it showed a very low "insurance payment" and "write off." They were basically asking for me to pay the "remaining" full procedure amount 2 months after. I contacted billing and they said something along the lines of my insurance claim had a mistake and they were going to try to get them (my insurance) to revise it. OK... Sounds like that should be straightforward. Another month passes and I am billed the same amount from their office. Getting the same run around, so called my insurance directly and they are telling me the office got a payment for the claim in June...... And the codes match the procedures I had done...... So I am having a hard time understanding why I still have a high outstanding balance..... Insurance was a lot more helpful with trying to get it resolved, but :| getting conflicting information. Will update if they are still charging me this balance in the next few months, as I see other reviews seem to have a similar experience.

Nonetheless, I had to go to an oral surgeon because I cracked a wisdom tooth and, as my dentist put it, that one's a goner. My dentist highly recommended Dr. Mogre. I turned up with great fear and trepidation to a consult meeting with Dr.Mogre. The man entered the room, and with him came wave of calm and a sense that I was in the presence of a real professional. We spoke of the offending wisdom tooth, that it needed to go, and he went through the procedure in great detail, how to prepare for it, what medications he was going to prescribe before the procedure, the healing process and so on. The more he spoke, the more relaxed I became. He's a man who got my trust quickly. Then came D-Day and despite the best efforts of valium, I was a bundle of nerves. Again, Dr. Mogre walked me through what he was going to be doing and explained that the only pain I would feel was the anesthetic needle, after which I would feel nothing but a sense of pressure and some noise. He was right about the needle hurting but they always do. He was right that I wouldn't feel any pain once the anesthetic had set in. He went into my mouth with some weird looking steel instrument and less than 60 seconds later, the tooth was out. Then there was the usual dose of suction, water jets, more suction followed by a gauze installed over the wound which I was to bite and hold for an hour and change as needed for a fresh one. At times during the procedure, including the anesthetic injection, my fear was very apparent. He was very conscious of and tuned into my fear and spoke encouragingly and gently to me and that really helped me get through it. He has, as a my mother would say, a very soothing bedside manner. And that was it. All done. Quick, where's the door! In all seriousness, he is the best doctor I've ever been too. Some people are good at what they do, others are just plain gifted. Dr. Mogre is the latter. I would highly recommend that if you need to go to an oral surgeon in Silicon Valley, go to Dr. Mogre. He is really really good.
