can not say enough great things about this establishment! The food, the ambience and the service was exceptional. This was a find in Pensacola. We had the champagne chicken salad as well as the gumbo. The meals came with a poppyseed dressing and a lemon poppyseed slice of bread and a flute of fruit. For desert we had bread pudding. Again this was an outstanding meal! I will say that the restaurant is attached to a high end kitchen, furniture ,clothing and gifts store that was also top notch. First time here and I LOVE it. THE soup special Chicken, artichoke with pasta! Chefs kiss!!! Had the special, grilled cheese (Colby, pepper jack, cheddar and jalapeño jelly) with a fruit cup. Also, the Greek pasta salad which came with a fruit cup (poppyseed addressing) And a slice of lemon poppyseed. This is an adorable little ladies cafe, a few blocks from the sea, set in a fabulous lux tropical garden setting. Visiting my sister here in Pensacola and she wanted to treat me to lunch which was lovely. She brought me here and so glad she did! Very nice (and I would say feminine) lunch spot. There were a few men there but was predominantly ladies doing lunch. Evidently they are only open for lunch until 2:30. We started with some soup and moved onto one of their specialities which was baked Chicken Salad (we're in the South Ya'll) with a side of fruit and lemon poppyseed bread. The best hidden gem in Pensacola! The cutest cafe with greenery and modern, southern decor. The champagne chicken salad is divine. The shrimp and shells are always fresh and make for a delicious lunch miles from the beach. The poppyseed dressing poured over the fresh fruit is the best combination. I've been eating here since I first moved to pensacola... (it was called "Norma's" then..) and they kept some /most of the recipes that Normas had and were awesome! I believe the staff who helped Normas still run what is known as Jo's as always ..so you still get the family friendly, best gourmet deli food you always got! I met a friend here for brunch and my God, what a magnificent place! From the tranquility, yummy food, great drinks, to excellent service, this place has it all! The waitress was very helpful, friendly, and had great recommendations. For drinks, I had a watermelon mimosa and a blueberry lemon mule. For appetizer, we shared a Baked Brie (so gooood). Ordered the Cobb salad for lunch. Menu said "Arcadida spring mix but was 100% arugula. Should have been Romaine lettuce Watercress Cucumber Cherry tomatoes Shallot Crumbled blue cheese Cooked chicken breast Bacon Hard-boiled eggs Avocado At least they got the bacon, egg and avacado right. Asked for no cucumber but apparently actually reading the order was too much to ask.. They missed the rest of the usual ingredients. Salad dressing was raspberry vinegarette that was sweet enough to put on pancakes. Politely asked a second time for a vinegarette and got some bitter unediable lime stuff. Lady, I guess the manager, bought us our bill without the $13 for the salad. She offered to make something else but it appeared she was less than pleased someone would not like their fare. Honestly it was the Crack about "you should have read the menu where it says "spring mix." Maybe arugula is the only thing growing in spring. Won't be back. read more

Jo is rude and arrogant and I'm sure the kind and humble Norma would be disappointed in her actions. I booked my daughter a breakfast with Santa spot 5 weeks in advance. The cost was $76 for 2 adults and 1 child. My husband unexpectedly passed away a few days before and I was unable to take my daughter but I still wanted her to experience it and find some joy in the season. I had a friend take her little girl and my daughter so the cost would be $57. When they arrive, they were told there was a problem with the reservation (overbooked) and would have to sit outside. It was a fairly cold and windy day and the girls did not have coats. Did my daughter still have a good time? Yes. Did they give 20% off the price? Yes. That's nice, right? The problem came when Jo returned my call 4 or 5 days later and was so rude. She was immediately ready to lash out and not listen. I even tried to intervene in her rant at one time and she said, "You'll let me finish." She went on to compare the loss of her father in law at Christmas to my 6 year old losing her father. My mom and I have been regulars since Norma's (now known as Jo's) was in Cordova Mall but I don't like ugly and neither does God. When I finally was given permission to speak, her tune changed but the damage was done. read more
