No one ever wants to go shopping for a funeral, but it's unfortunately something you need to do from time to time. The team at this store was incredibly helpful and sensitive while getting my husband fitted for a new suit. They had great recommendations and nothing ever felt pushy or salesy ... we could tell they genuinely wanted to help him find the right fit and color scheme. I am sure this store gets busy on weekends given the location, but we pretty much had the place to ourselves on a Thursday after lunch. Went in to place a custom suit order (#7677804), nothing new, I've done this probably half a dozen times by now. It was going well at first, but the initial red flag was how many liners and fabric options I had picked out were found to either be retired or not available for either the inner or sleeve lining, despite being available on the rack for customers to look at. So after multiple rounds of options, we were moving forward. The next red flag came when my associate, Gio, failed to ask me about some of the added options on the custom suits, like slanted pockets, functional buttons, thread color, pick stitching, etc, as well as assuming I would want a single-breasted, 2-button, notch label without giving me the other options. I recognize that I did communicate a bit of experience in purchasing custom suits before, so I can see where it may be assumed that I knew the options, but as it had been over a year since my last custom, I had forgotten. After correcting most of the options, the order was placed and I was on my way. When I got home and reviewed the actual order form, I realized that Gio had neither offered nor had I remembered the ticket pocket option. I really wanted it, so I called the store not 4 hours after placing the order to inquire about adding it on. I knew it would incur an additional charge, so I asked how they wanted to handle it. Gio said he would cancel the existing order and simply place a new order (that included the ticket pocket) on hold so that I could come in any time I wanted and pay for it again, as they couldn't just add on the difference or charge my card over the phone, and that Gio would email me the cancelation and refund details. About 2 weeks later I return to the store when I was available. It's worth nothing that I had neither received any kind of email about the order cancelation, nor received the promised refund. It was at this time that I decided that I didn't want the suit after all, especially since it wasn't really the fabrics I had originally wanted, and given that I was pretty disappointed with the service I received up to this point. I inquired with Gio about this, and he said he would get the refund processed (even though he said he was going to do this 2 weeks ago) and the new, on-hold order canceled, but that I would only receive 50% of the cost back, due to a restocking fee. Policy is policy, but I find it incredibly on the nose for Tailored Brands to charge such an exuberant fee, and on an order that, if the employee in question were telling the truth, was canceled not 4 hours after it was originally placed, meaning of course that no product had even begun to be created, and therefore there was nothing to actually restock. I even called back several days after the original purchase date to ensure it was canceled and the refund was on the way, and was told it had already been handled. I can only see this as a lie or a slip of the mind, and in either case, speaks to the level of professionalism you would find here. I essentially paid ~$400 for no product, and to remind me the reason I had not shopped with Tailored Brands for the last year. You too will face this experience by shopping here, but you're welcome to take the monetary risk if you're feeling brave. read more

This Jos A Bank needs to be on Undercover Boss. Honestly most McDonald's have better service. I asked if they could trade out my suit jacket or if they tailored the suit jackets, all his said first was "why did you buy it too big?" I honestly had no idea how to respond besides "because that is what yall sized me at" Unfortunately this is the only Jos A Bank within an hour drive, so I'll take what I can get. But if you are a manager reading this take note that you need to work on costumer service. This is not the only bad experience. When I was purchasing the suit I had an appointment, now I don't need to be treated like a king but I was disappointed when I came in and asked for my appointment and they had no idea what I was talking about. I was then sent to the back to get measured by a young man who seemed new (no harm in that we all start somewhere). He said to the lady who sent me to him "I don't know how to do the pants measurements" she said "it's easy just do it like the other measurments". Yeah needless to say that did not inspire confidence. Sure enough once the suit got to me it was not a good fit. Please train your staff until they are ready to work on their own. Came into pick up my alterations the day after they should've been ready. The clerk on duty said they had not been completed in the week+ that they had not altered them because they claimed the clerk that checked me out hadn't charged me even though I had a valid alteration ticket. They had not called me about this despite them saying they were supposed to. They then insisted that I pay again, and that that clerk would be there personally to refund me on my return if I had the original receipt. The clerk was not there upon my return. The grand total they couldn't float me and wasted 2 hours of my time driving back and forth two times on a 500$ suit? 18 Bucks. No calls, no email. Didn't even receive an apology for an error that was no fault of my own. Your time is worthless here. Another customer was also in when I picked up my suit, he was complaining because his pants were hemmed several inches too short and were late coming back. Take your business elsewhere. Very poor customer service. Absolutely do not recommend. read more

I love this clothing store. I have bought most of my dress clothes at JAB over the years but this was the first time I was in this store. Caveat here: prices reflect the fine quality of their clothes. (I'm very ok with that.) I needed: 1. To know my suit size. That took 45 seconds and now I know. 2. A white dress shirt. A quick measure, a quicker hunt and that was done. 3. A black tie. They didn't have one but asked that I go on line to find one, that their on line store has a much greater selection. So went to the Stroop Road location as I have always received great service in the past. Purchased two custom wedding suits there. Was always my go to place for needing someone to pay attention to the details. Went there last week to purchase two dress shirts (blue and white); basic colors for an upcoming interview. Walked in and no one even acknowledged me walking into the store. And no, it was not busy, there were only two other people in the store. For 20 minutes, I walked around trying to find my size, color, etc. NO ONE even asked if I needed assistance. I was livid and walked out, NEVER to return the store or purchase anything on-line. I had to update my 10yr old wardrobe, nothing fit anymore. My wife and I had a great experience picking out some new shirts, a few ties, and a sports coat. The staff, Ryan & Andrew took the time to help pick out styles for me. I even decided to get a custom sports coat. In short: go literally anywhere else if you have an important event requiring suit/tux rentals or purchasing. In long: I have never had a worse experience at any store, and the worst part is that I was obligated to come back to multiple times. At every step I felt like I knew more of what was going on that the employees. The man we were working with did not know what a group number was, pretty strange for a business that does suit rentals for weddings, and told me they didn't have the option to do that. Several hours later we found it. When picking up suits we called several times to make sure that we could pick up all the groomsmen's suits, they told me I could several times however when we went to pick them up the day before the wedding they were not going to release them because not everyone had tried them on at that location. Fine but that completely contradicts what I had confirmed several times. Additionally, they spent an hour looking for my husbands wedding suit because one of the employees just put it on the counter and it had apparently been sitting there on a random counter for 3 days not hung up or looked after. We also planned to do the receive $250 in credit since we had a party, we still have not received. When picking up they told us to drop off at least within 2 days of event. Our event was on Saturday and when we got there today they lectured us about us being late and another wedding being late, because they were due yesterday. The old man (you know which one) was so rude to my mother in law the whole time, I was dumb founded. So many other things have happened but these are the big ones. I did not want to complain until today. I have never felt so disgusted by a company and how they run their business. GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSW FOR ANYTHING YOU NEED. read more

I purchased a suit for a wedding at the Jos A Bank in Kettering, Ohio. Since I was in the wedding, I gave them the group number that had the suit details. I showed up for pictures on the wedding day, and mine was the only one that didn't match. Luckily, there was a Jos A Banks nearby which had one that looked similar to the rest of the wedding party, but the size was a bit off. So I ended up buying a second suit. I made it back in time for some of the photos. I went back to the Jos A Banks in Kettering, Ohio today to explained what had happened. I spoke to the assistant manager that I didn't even wear the suit, since it was the incorrect one and wanted to return it. He said they won't be accepting a return since it was a custom suit and also it wasn't their fault. I was pretty upset at this point, and tried to explain that this wasn't my mistake. To justify his reasoning, he had me go behind the counter and show on the computer my suit number and that it matched all the other groomsmen. Because of that, it wasn't their fault. I showed him the picture and asked him if that was the case, shouldn't all of these suits look alike? I also asked since all 5 of us ordered the same suit, and mine doesn't match, they didn't mess up? He said yes and because of that, I couldn't return it since it was custom made. My upset status got upgraded to frustration when he said "we can agree to disagree." Don't worry, he gave me permission to quote him. The manager is on vacation, so I'll be speaking to him next week. I used to come to this Jos. A. Bank all the time. I came in today for pants, shirts and ties. I walked in the store there wasn't a person in sight. Only one person working and no other customers. I thought cool I'll be able to get the assistance I need and leave. No the area manager (heard him say this on the phone) basically ignored me. He said hi then talked on the phone, no big deal helping a guy on the phone. Got off the phone and never helped me, I was trying to get his attention the entire time. After about 10 or 15 minutes another guy comes I'm and he helps him. I was pretty irritate at this point so I left. I came back about 15 minutes later to give it another shot, I wanted to try on a pair of pants and the manager tells me I'm not allowed. He said it's against the rules right now, I asked what about that guy right there trying on clothes. He got pissy and pointed me to a dressing room. I tried the pants on had some questions about sizes and he was gone, at this point there was a second employee helping someone else as well. So once again. I left this time I drove to Nordstrom's to get 8 pants, 8 shirts and 8 ties. read more

I am horrified I have to even give a 1 star rating. I purchased 11 suits for a wedding party from a different Jos A. Bank store and when my fiancé, his brother, and dad went in to get their measurements at the Dayton store, they were denied service. Denied. Probably because they weren't getting commission for it although there's a worse reason they could have been denied. Corporate was called and the regional manager said he would personally do a fitting for the 3 of them to make up for their denial, so maybe that deserves my 1 star. Regardless, go to the Polaris Jos. A Bank store in Columbus where they treat you like a valued customer and leave the horrible sales gimics and personal background differences at the door. read more

Used company for my wedding 5/25/14 and have only negative things to post about this company. Ties/vests/pocket squares were wrong. FOB was fit twice for a tux that still on day before the wedding was incorrect and needed to buy suspenders at another store so he could walk his daughter down the aisle without pants falling off. Sales people were disinterested and did not once apologize or offer to rectify the situation. They order rented suits and tuxes from another warehouse and the communication between stores and this warehouse is nonexistent. I would not ever trust this company. read more

Why oh why is there no option for ZERO stars? I have NEVER posted a negative review about anyone's business, and here I am. If you have an important event coming up, PLEASE DO NOT go to Joseph A. Banks in the shopping center on Stroop Road. You will be sorely disappointed. My husband and young son were set to be in a wedding on 12/9/17. They went into this location to be measured several weeks prior to the wedding. We were told that they would call when the tuxes were ready. Two days before the wedding, we still had not received a call so I went up to the store. There was no explanation for not receiving a call. My son tried on his suit in the store. TERRIBLE. His pants were high waters. His jacket FELL off of him and the sleeves were past his fingertips. They RE-MEASURED him and had it "ready" the next day. Due to time constraint, my husband simply picked up his tux without trying it on first. We trusted that they had measured correctly the first time (for my husband) and certainly by the 2nd time for my toddler. Boy, were we wrong. On the wedding day, my husband had a HOLE in his shirt. His shirt sleeves were beyond too long and his jacket sleeves were half-way up his forearm. The "tailor" had apparently shortened ONE ARM (yes you read that right) of my son's jacket, while the other one remained too long. His pants were now ENORMOUS and falling off of him. And his shirt came down to his shins. Meanwhile, the FATHER of the GROOM could not even wear his necktie, because the incompetent tailor measured his neck too small and his shirt did not fit. When my husband went back to the store to demand a refund, a salesman by the name of Will RAISED HIS VOICE at him and told him and I quote "We aren't in the business of doing things for free." My response? We aren't in the business of paying for INCOMPETENT and TERRIBLE service. Here we are, nearly $300 worth of rentals later, with nothing but terrible fitting tuxes in timeless wedding photos to show for it. STAY FAR AWAY from this nightmare place. read more

I have never been so disrespected in my life. With my intent to spend money, I felt like Pretty Woman. The sales people are horrific. They act like their product is superior, but we all know it is not. Their product is inferior, but their workers act like they are selling Armani suits.
