As I continued browsing, I found two pairs of loafers I really liked and went to look for the male salesperson who had initially helped me. While he was engaged in a discussion with another staff member, Shannon noticed me and kindly stepped in to assist. She was friendly, attentive, down-to-earth, had a great attitude, and made me feel like a valued customer right away. I showed her the shoes I wanted, and she took it from there with professionalism and a smile. It turns out my feet have actually shrunk -- I now need a half size smaller! Shannon went to the back to get another size for me. In the meantime, I decided to try on the first pair (the ones I thought were too small), and to my surprise, they fit perfectly. When Shannon returned with the smaller size loafers, they fit well but slipped off my heel. Without missing a beat, she added another layer to the insole, and just like that -- they fit perfectly too! Sassy Shannon turned my shopping trip into a fantastic experience. Since the DSG has opened in the Dayton Mall, I suspect that's where some of their business has gone. It seemed a bit empty, but of course, it was a school night, so things are much more quiet in the mall. Occasionally, they have some really good deals, and they have a rewards card, and they'll send you e-mail after e-mail to extoll their love for you, plus you get some discounts. They had all the shoes we wanted to compare and Sean was very knowledgable and answered any questions we had and even ones we didn't know or think to ask. Any options she knew she wanted to try were brought out and even a few more to make sure she was satisfied with her choice. Sean was personable, patient and eager to help. After the custom fitting, he suggested for her to move up a half size from what she'd been wearing. She has a history of foot issues and I was excited to see how this would help. One day in and she's noted that she's much more comfortable. Sean seemed to really care about making sure we chose the right shoes and gear and we were never rushed. From start to finish, I can't think of another time I was this impressed with the level of service received. We'll happily recommend Up and Running any chance we get and will be back for future needs.

Speaking of that alot of places have moved out and been replaced by something ridiculous like ball cap store or cats. Most all the stores I used to go to are gone. Jcpenny and Macy's are still there but very few shopping. In Penny's only saw 1 employee in the whole place and they were at the downstairs register. Only 1 open in 3 levels. How are people not robbing them blind. At Macy's they had a few ladies covering the perfume area but no customers. Sadly everything is going to online shopping and that makes buying fragrance a gamble. But from what we saw I'd say the mall is at risk of closing.

I don't really come here to shop anymore as we are not too far from The Greene, Liberty Township, or a bunch of the shopping plazas in Mason.
