Went in to buy suit pants as mine had been ruined. Walked in and one older employee was assisting another customer with another younger one in the very back corner. I walked towards the back and was trying to find a certain pair of pants and the younger employee was too busy writing something down and never once looked up and acknowledged my existence even though I was walking right by. I continued to wander around the store attempting to find the right set of pants but now the younger employee had disappeared in the back. The older employee near the front was still with a customer and multiple times I walked right by him but he never once acknowledged me or asked if I needed assistance, which I did. I found a pair of pants myself,let myself into the fitting room because no one else was around that seemed helpful or who cared. While in the fitting room another employee spoke to my wife outside and when I exited he spoke with me and was helpful. He helped me pay for the pants and was the only one who talked to us the 20-25 minutes we were in the store. I did like the selection of suits and would contemplate buying one from them but possibly at another location because 2 of the 3 employees didn't seem to care I was in the store ( with one other customer shopping at the time). The worst experience I have had in a retail store in my 40 years on this earth. I am getting married and started the tux rental process back in May. Multiple times they messed up the groomsman info and I got horrible feedback from everyone who went in for fittings. I decided to have a custom suit made, got sized and was told to come back in 3 weeks for a final tailoring. Went in, had it tailored and was told to come back a week later to pick it up. Came back and they told me they had LOST my suit. I later found out that they shipped it to a convention in Texas. My wedding was in a month at that point, my fiance was flipping out, then they tell me they would start making me a new one that would be ready in 3 weeks which was a week before my wedding. I get a call 5 days later saying they found the suit, come in and get it, its ready. I go in and none of the tailoring had been done. So I get re-measured because they lost the original measurements that were taken, and the gentleman was very apologetic, swears up and down that they wouldn't lose the suit and that I would be their first priority and it would be ready in a week. I come back with my fiance a week later and the suit had never been touched, still had white chalk marks all over it, and looked horrible when I put it on. Now I have 5 days to find a suit for my wedding and get it tailored, all from a process that started back in May, and it is nearly August. The staff was apologetic and I was told I would get a full refund for $475, with nothing else to remedy the hell that they put us through. I receive a voicemail 1 hour later saying that it would only be $300 because of discounts applied. I have never dealt with this level of incompetence in my life and pray that anyone that sees this review that is thinking of using Joseph A Bank to fit out their wedding will run from this store. read more

I went with my husband to buy a suit in December. The store was busy and understaffed, and some of the staff were rude when we asked for assistance. We would have left 2 stars then, but when we went to pick up the suit few weeks later, we learned the store was under new management. At our second visit, we had great service by Anthony, the new manager. Getting fitted for an alteration was efficient and professional. Good management makes all the difference! read more

We wanted to rent a tux for the wedding. The female staff looked at my fiance and asked "Do you wear a lot of suit? You don't look like you do." Enough said. As soon as someone else walked in, she started to try to serve them instead and just disappeared without any notice several times and at the end we just left. I should have looked at the reviews. I always thought this was a quality menswear store. All of the items they have on sale are poorly made, like what you see in discount department stores. I did select a quality suit (not on sale of course) but was shocked when they rung it up with $140 in alterations. Then when I went to pick up the suit, they had tightened the jacket rather than loosening the fit and the pants legs were not even close to the same length. Horrible experience. read more

Really wish I read these reviews before coming in. I came here to order a custom suit. I was planning on buying two suits, but luckily, I decided I should order one to make sure I liked the finished product. Thank God I didn't order two, or I would be even more disappointed. I arrived at 345pm for my 4pm sizing appointment. I wasn't even acknowledged or spoken to from any staff until 445pm even though I staff member sitting around doing nothing. I finally started my fitting, which took 2h30m or even a little longer. The gentleman I had went off on a tangent about public speaking, and he teaches public speaking (Toast office seminars) or something like that and kept rambling. While being measured and choosing fabrics, he kept having issues using the ipad and had to walk away and call tech support. This happened about 7 or 8 times, hense why the fitting took so long. I finally finished my fitting and left the store a little before 7pm. My suit was ready for the test fitting in just over 2 weeks , so I was extremely happy about but then while test fitting one sleeve was longer then the other and the jacket was way too tight I looked like Chris Farley in David spades jacket! They sent the suit back out for alterations. Now I have the final product, and it doesn't look much better than a suit I could've bought off the rack except for the custom embellishments I asked for i.e. liner, name, double vent. I'm very displeased with my purchase and wouldn't recommend Jo's A bank for a custom suit. They did have my suit ready faster then expected, so I gave them a star for that. read more

In short: Good prices (big sale), helpful staff, and well organized store made this a very positive experience. Suit shopping is not high on my list of priorities but once ever decade or so I think it's important to do. As a still barely clinging to my 20's guy I never really considered shopping here. But a huge sale and a proclamation of its excellence from my brother in-law motivated me to give it a shot. I walked in and honestly, I was overwhelmed. There are tons of suits - some which looked better suited to my grandfather than to me, but I pressed on. I suggest you don't be intimidated by some of the older styles - they're trying to cater to a wide age group and if you ask for help (they are very nice and not pushy or stuffy at all) they'll help you find suits more befitting your style. The store was somewhat busy when I went on a Sunday afternoon (about 6-7 people which I thought was a lot for a small-ish suit store in Framingham) but the employees were walking around to make sure everyone was being helped. The employees showed me which suits were on sale and which were on clearance and gave advice and suggestions when asked. I was sure I wouldn't buy anything but I walked out of there with two new suits which will be tailored to my specific size later this week. Overall, it was a good experience. I assume the suits are good quality (how can anyone really know) but with 70% off they were worth the investment. Now, you probably won't find any super slick snazzy suits here but you can definitely find some good go to pieces. They also sells other accoutrement such as belts, ties, pants, etc. I stuck with the suits and am now all set for another decade or so. read more

If you have another location you can go to, do it. This store only had one gentlemen working when we went and, understandably, he was slammed. It took us over an hour to get through two suits because we had to wait 15 minutes in between each piece. If the store manager had any care he would know not to schedule one associate on a weekend. My husband bought a suit here for our wedding. The suit was fine. Price was okay. However, the staff (specifically a very large african american guy) was incredibly rude. When we bought the suit they told us how long it would take to get it tailored and when the tailor was in the store so my husband could come in and get fitted. We couldn't come back that week because of family obligations and we came back the next week (planning on going out to dinner afterward and making a fun date out of it). While my husband (fiance at the time) was being measured, the aforementioned salesperson was trying to make smalltalk with me and said something along the lines of "you are getting married soon, aren't you?" I excitedly told him when, which was quite soon but well beyond the timeframe of how long we were told it would take to get the suit finished. He started tearing into me, demanding "WHY did you wait SO LONG?!" and I said "well we were told it would be finished before then...?" and he screamed "WHAT IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG?!" Well, excuse me, I didn't know I had to take your time estimate into account and then add on a month extra "in case something goes wrong". He would not drop it and kept hounding me about why we waited so long (frankly it was none of his business) to the point where I just turned and walked away crying. So thanks for ruining what was supposed to be an exciting and fun part of our wedding planning and shopping. I ended up outside in the car bawling (planning a wedding is stressful enough without some jerk stranger chewing you out for doing it wrong) and I will never ever set foot in this store again, nor will I allow anyone I care about to do so. I can't even look at a Jos. A. Bank store now without having fun memories of crying in the car. I even kind of hate the suit because of this. If you're going to sell expensive clothing (or even if it's cheap clothing, actually) you should probably teach your staff some basic manners and not to yell at customers. I went in for the buy 1 suit get $1,000 free and got two great suits and three nice dress shirts. The next week there was a new promotion of buy one suit get three free suits and three free shirts (so I would be getting 2 more suits essentially for free). So I went back expecting to get the run around but the store manager, Mike Souza, made the exchange very simply and easy! Not to mention the tailor, Diane Bednarz, does a fantastic job custom fitting my suits. This store has a very helpful and friendly staff. I definitely recommend going here for any business attire but make sure to get the right promotion! read more

My wedding was this past Saturday and everything worked out ok but there were some issues for my best man and one of my groomsmen. I went to the store in Framingham, picked out the tux and was fitted for it. I picked it up, tried it on and there were no issues. If I was doing this review for just myself this would be a five star review. The store in CT where my best man went ordered the wrong size shirt. They had to overnight it to a store near the wedding venue. One of my groomsmen went to the store in Worcester and there were all sorts of problems - which they tried to blame him for. They said that he didn't leave a deposit - he paid in full when he was fitted and had a receipt. They said he gave them the wrong name - like he didn't know his own name. They tried to give him someone else's tux. They complained that he needed it done in time for the wedding. If I was doing the review on just his experience it would be a one star review. My experience at the Framingham location was great and I would recommend going there, but the service at other locations seems wildly inconsistent. read more

Paul was friendly, got my measurements, helpfully explained the differences between their lines within my price range, and got me set up with the tailor who shares the same building with them. Maybe they were great a couple years ago but it's not that way anymore. Initially when they see you walk in they'll be helpful. Though you may think that they do have great "deals", it all comes down to you pay for what you're buying. The quality of the suits is most definitely not what they advertise. Their selection of suits ranges from large to extra extra large with only 2 types of cuts, which again is very different from their advertising. Given the circumstances (selection and quality) they are helpful, but that's about it. The horrible experience I had was when I had to go back and get my things tailored. If they recommended you to a tailor that used to work for them (now located behind the store) DO NOT GO! He does not do a good job and when I went to pick up my suit he completely forgot to fix the pants! When he finally did do them, they looked worse than if I hadn't had them tailored. The price he charged me, was way past the quality of the job, and he is sloppy, and again, once he has your money, all customer service ends, even if you have another concern. So if they recommend you to a tailor, don't go. Overall: 1)There is a limited selection and the quality isn't that good 2)the staff was decent when you had their money in your pocket, but once they had it in their register, they don't want anything to do with you, are argumentative, and rude 3)mostly NEVER go to the tailor that they recommend. Worst experience ever. Staff is very rude. A man with curly hair must have been fired as a used car salesman and was hired here. Very short and does not listen to what you are looking for. Because the sale was buy one get two free, he only wanted to show me the $750 and above suits. I have heard great things about Jos A Banks in other locations.......take my advice and stay clear of this place. read more
