AUTO MECHANIC SHOPS ARE CROOKS! The ignition on my car was having problems and finally got stuck where you couldn't start the car. My Wifey got stuck at Stop & Shop in Warwick and had the car towed to Jennings in Warwick. They told us we need a new ignition and possibly a immobilizer.. The ignition itself with keys would cost $700 and change which is parts and labor and then the imobolizer if needed would be more and that's on back order. Plus now I would have two sets of keys, one for the door and a separate for the ignition. I asked them if they could just repair it instead of ordering a new one and the woman on the phone said they can't do that and you have to get a whole new one. So I told her I seen it done online and she says well we don't do that but I can ask the technician. She gets back to me and says the technician says you can't repair ignitions. So before giving the green light to do the replacement. I decided to YouTube this and see if I could fix it myself. I seen scores of videos of locksmiths repairing ignitions from all over the country. So right away I looked for a local Locksmith and found one in Warwick Jon's Locks Inc. I called him and he said he can repair it at my home in less than an hour for $450 which includes keeping the same keys that he would re-case so it would be the same key for the ignition and doors. So I had the car towed back home and the next day Jon from Jon's Locks Inc. comes to my house and has it repaired in all about a half hour. Saved me hundreds of dollars. Shame on these auto places that like to screw people over especially a hard working family. So I highly recommend anyone that has problems with the ignition not turning right or it being Jammed to call Jon's instead of being raped financially by crooks called auto repair shops. We had a faulty key fob for our Honda CRV and Zack helped us reprogram and replace the key right away. He explained everything in a straightforward manner (the top button was stuck in the on position and constantly drained the fob battery). He said that this is a common situation with these types of keys after years of wear and tear. He was helpful, straightforward and able to do the replacement with speed. Jon repaired the worn out ignition on my Honda Pilot. As part of the service he cut new keys to prevent the old warn keys from causing damage again. He coded them to the car so the keys work in both the door and ignition. His fee is less than going to a mechanic and he came to the house so I didn't have to have the car towed.
