A Better Locksmith - Storefront key shop right on Newport Ave! - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Pawtucket, Rhode Island

A Better Locksmith did a great job re-keying my house. All 3 external doors now have the same key rather than in the past where I had 3 different keys because the door locks were bought at a chain store. They did the work in less than an hour which was impressive because one of my locks had to be re-drilled. While they were there I asked if they do car keys as well and they were able to make me a new car key right from their truck! It was affordable and I wish I had known about this in the past! They did an excellent job and I would not hesitate to use them again! read more

A Better Locksmith - My beat up old key (with internal chip) and the new key that they made for me right from their truck for $70! Works like a charm! - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Pawtucket, Rhode Island

Just used A Better Locksmith today to rekey our new home. The appointment was made quickly, the locksmith was right on time. He rekeyed 8 locks (and fixed quite a few misaligned locks) in under 1.5hours. It was super affordable. I was very impressed. Will definitely be calling them with any lock problems in the future. read more

LOOK NO FURTHER FOR YOUR LOCKSMITH!! I was in a mad rush trying to move my elderly mother from her house, which had become way too much for her to manage, into an assisted living facility after two weeks in the hospital. I had absolutely no idea who had keys to her house, so I called A Better Locksmith (Steven) to arrange new locks and keys on her front and back doors. He was extremely responsive, gave me a quote upfront we set a date and time which was within 48 hours which was the first available time I had, which he made himself available for. As it turned out, my schedule with my mom got messed up and I could not make the appointment. I took a chance and told Steven where they hide a key was and I asked him if he would just change the locks without supervision and leave the keys somewhere. I just had a good feeling and based on his reviews felt trust was worth the risk. Now I can tell you he did a great job- he was efficient, communicative, and reasonably priced and followed directions perfectly which would warrant the five star review alone - but there is one factor here, that absolutely blew me away I returned to her house. I had emptied three enormous jars of loose change into two Ziploc gallon bags and put them in a reusable Stop & Shop bag. When I left her house last time before the locks were changed, I had arms full of bags to load into the car when I left, the bag with the change was basically open at the top and sitting right at the back door where Stephan was working. It contained what I know now was $440 worth of change. That bag was there when he arrived, it was there while he worked, it was there when he left, and it was there when I returned. It would have been incredibly easy for him to remove it, and know nothing about it. The top of the handle bag was wide open and there is no way he wouldn't have seen what was in the bag. This is a situation where I can tell his mother (and father) did a good job raising their son. That is who you will be hiring to change your locks. CAN NOT RECOMMEND HIGHLY ENOUGH. Tim Here is the bag still sitting within 36 inches of the back door he entered and worked from. read more

Super fast efficient service. Brought a key in to be cut and programmed for my car. Took less than 10 minutes to be back on the road again. Unbeatable price compared to other locksmiths. If you have key or lock problems, be sure to give this business a shout. read more

I got locked out of my house. I called a couple of places and was told it would be 3-4 hours before someone could come over. A Better Locksmith said 20-30 minutes, and he arrived in just over 30. Price was reasonable. I would definitely use their services again, of course I hope I don't need them! read more

My son was arriving from another state and asked to take my car. The problem was I only had one key and needed another key asap! I chose A Better Locksmith because they were the closest. However, upon entering the shop, I was amazed by how helpful and courteous the gentleman was as I explained what I needed. Thankfully, they had the key design in stock. He not only made the key but made absolutely certain that the key was made correctly and was a perfect fit for my car. He even accompanied me to my car to make certain - once again- that it worked! It was short notice for them but the quality of their workmanship and assistance went above and beyond. I HIGHLY recommend A Better Locksmith!! read more

When looking for a locksmith, make sure they have a local address with a shop. Don't be fooled by the ones that come up on Google that are actually a call center because you have no idea who is the actual locksmith. I was very pleased with the small job i had. Friendly, professional and a local business. What more could you ask for. read more

We just moved and wanted our locks changed. They were able to schedule me for a couple days out and for a 7 am appointment before I left for work. Very personable, reasonable price and from the lockout we had the previous night, this is how a locksmith should be. They also do emergency lockouts, so if I'm ever in that position again, I know who I'm calling. They accept cards, check and cash! Id also like to add not only was he on time but even showed up early. Quick, easy and would recommend! read more

Great service. The technician came right away and completed his job professionally.

A Better Locksmith rekeyed my house. Marcel showed up when he said he would, rekeyed 10 cylinders in under 2 hours, and charged a reasonable price, exactly as quoted. He even recommended a place to rehab a finicky old mortise lock and patiently explained how to operate the funky key backup on my keypad locks. No complaints at all. This will be my first call for any future locksmithing needs! read more

Marcel is very efficient, personable and does quality work. He schedules appointments quickly and is on time. Recommended.

This place is simply amazing. They are willing to provide a firm quote for product or service via Yelp message. They are quick, knowledgeable and efficient in the locksmith services they provide. Within 5 minutes of providing them a blank transponder key it was programmed, cut and I was on my way. All there customer's 5 star reviews speak for themselves. read more

Extremely distasteful experience. Quoted me $35 to make a key and then wanted an additional $100 after the fact for having to "disassemble the lock." What's the point in asking for a quote? read more

I just needed some keys duplicated, but he did a good job. I picked up some key rings to go with them. He helped me identify some other keys I had found in my late mother's house. They likely went to file cabinets. If I need more locksmith work done in Pawtucket I will use this place. read more

I bought a 2011 used Nissan this past summer, but the key it came with wasn't cut to physically unlock the door. This wasn't an issue because new Nissans all use the key fob to unlock and start the car, but this morning when I went to leave for work in the middle of a snow storm, I came out to a dead battery. This company was right down the street and had a single 5 star review on Yelp so I gave them a call. The man I spoke with indicated they would be able to get to me in about 30 minutes and was there at almost the exact time he told me he would be. After attempting to unlock the door, the car is setup so that pulling the handle does not unlock it and there's no physical door lock switch. Luckily he was experienced enough to know that he could also take a quick trip back to the shop and obtain the shape of my key by using my VIN# and contacting Nissan. He was back in under a half hour with a key to unlock my car. What a life saver. They were prompt, completely met all of the expectations they had set for me, and priced VERY fairly in my opinion. If you're ever in a jam, don't hesitate to give these guys a call. read more

I had a key for a bike rack that nobody else was able to copy, or they copied it and the key didn't work. This place made the key in 2 minutes and it worked fine. You should see the inside of their shop, the walls are just lined with key blanks. I was impressed, and they got the job done well. read more

We are so happy with this service. Marcel was extremely helpful and made everything really easy for us. He even fixed what could have been a massive inconvenience (one of the keypad locks we bought had been a return and it was all messed up - but he fixed it). Would highly recommend. Thanks again! read more

I bought a new home last year. I had my rear door rekeyed to match the locks on my new front door. I found the locksmith to be more than knowledgeable and the work was done while I waited and was very affordable. These guys came out the day after Thxgvn when no one else would. No one else would even pick up their phone on thxgvn eve. I closed on the house on Wednesday morning and I didn't want to wait until Monday leaving 4-5 days without changing the locks. These guys understood that, and Marcel came out the next day! I contacted them through this app (1st time I have ever done this) and it couldn't have been easier. Locks rekeyed in about 15 mins and done! Using again very soon, lots of work to be done here. read more

We had recently moved into our new home and only had keys for the front door. This morning when I got home I went to unlock that door, and the door knob fell off- leaving me locked out at 7am! I called A better locksmith and they sent Marcel out within 20 minutes. Not only did he fix my door knob for me, but he also changed all the locks to my house to make it all the same key. Very reasonable price, and very nice person! Would recommend them to anyone and use them again in the future if ever needed! All I have to say is wow. I got quotes from different stores, dealerships and even AAA preferred locksmiths that were well over $200 for a key that broke from the key to the clicker. A Better Locksmith was recommended so I called. The guy on the phone was friendly, knew exactly what I was talking about gave me a $50 estimate and told me to come right in it would take about 5 minutes. I got there he did an amazing job and was done in 4 minutes. They saved the day. I highly recommend. read more
