She provided me with expert trauma informed care and such profound gentleness, patiently explaining what she was going to do while listening and attending to my needs compassionately. I was able to complete the procedure. The next session, I was given a different local anesthetic for my comfort without asking. I really appreciate this dental office. As an adult who avoided going to the dentist for a while out of fear, this office is a breath of fresh air. They never fail to make me feel safe and as comfortable as they reasonably can when it comes to dental work. I'm so glad to have found them.

The business side is flawless: check ins and initial intake are handled very well, and we got good help when the very partial dental insurance reimbursement for one kid's choppers went to the wrong place. Appointment times are kept very close, and are offered at school-friendly times for routine visits (although more extensive things may have to be scheduled earlier in the day). Throw in amenities: parent coffee and tea (the good stuff), mostly-working video game consoles (keeps the younger kids occupied) and a cheery if occasionally a bit crowded waiting area. Dr. DeLuke's extremely friendly with both parents and kids and explains things well without being condescending, and the medical assistant staff are also chipper and efficient without making it seem like you're rushed. So it has that happy medium of being pretty quick but if you need more time to have things explained, not a problem. One extra touch: one of my kids has a hearing problem for which he sees an ENT; Dr DeLuke took the time to get us a CD of the full scans he did for the orthodonture intake to show all the relevant parts of the head that we could take to the ENT at his next visit, who appreciated them. I take this as a sign he's a medical professional first, as it were, and an orthodontist second, and that's what you want in a specialty practitioner.

Both my wife and I have standard issue teeth - some problems , mostly older cavities, some root canals needed. Our care has been top-notch. Moved here and tried a dentist in Delmar who, upon his first look, said I needed gum work. Something with a laser. I don't recall the details. That felt wrong based on my prior dentist's opinion. Before I had any more work done by the Delmar fellow, I met Hal at a social gathering. Shortly after, I had an appointment with Hal who confirmed that I have great teeth and gums and need no gum work. I filled out some forms in the waiting room. I got called into the exam room by the hygienist just a minute or two after I was done with the forms. The cleaning was very thorough. After the cleaning and digital x-rays, the dentist did his exam. He was friendly but firm with the instructions to floss daily, as usual. A new patient exam with x-rays and a cleaning came out to be under $224. Subsequent cleanings are $129. Insurance is accepted too.
