Wonderful first visit with Dr Schwartz. I walked into this…read moreappointment today absolutely terrified -- like "should I cancel and pretend this never existed?" terrified. My teeth are in rough shape right now, and after a horrible past dentist who basically wanted to pull everything out (trauma city), I was expecting the worst. Instead, I met Dr. Schwartz, and within minutes he had me feeling safe, cared for, and even laughing. Yes... actually laughing in a dentist's chair. Wild. He listened to me, he understood my fears, and at one point after hearing what I went through, he just looked at me with this gentle "you poor thing" energy -- but in the sweetest, most compassionate way. Not judgmental, not pitying... just genuinely kind. He has a great sense of humor, an incredibly gentle approach, and he made me feel human, not embarrassed. I left feeling relieved, grateful, and honestly shocked that I found a dentist I'm excited to go back to. If you're scared of dentists or carrying trauma from past experiences, please go see Dr. Schwartz. He changed everything for me.

I hate going to the dentist, but who doesn't? Schwartz makes the experience relatively painless,…read morethough. While I have never had any major issues, I have been pleased over the last three visits. The check-in paperwork is electronic which makes a lot of sense to me in 2018 and it's simple to complete. I've never had to wait long for an appointment, either. Everything seems to run on time and everyone is friendly. My hygienist is gentle and friendly. They keep you with the same hygienist each time and they immediately schedule the appointment with you themselves after the cleaning. Dr. Schwartz has been my doctor. He is gregarious and seems thorough. I was pregnant and couldn't get x-rays during a couple of cleanings, but felt he inspected my teeth carefully. While it's in an unassuming building, this has been a great practice so far. I only withhold one star because I have never experienced anything beyond basic care there.

I had complained that one of the dentists who was my dentist was only there twice a month and he is now coming in more often. He is there once a week now and the other dentist that was only there twice week is now there every day. Many people don't handle criticism well so I really respect the doctors for listening and changing to make things better. They were extremely nice to me when i came in for my appointment which I did appreciate. I think Yelp is the best thing that ever happened because it makes everyone accountable for their actions no matter how big the company or important the individual is. Thank you to Union Street Dentistry

I would not recommend this office to anyone because it was my experience that the office manager…read morewas extremely disrespectful and argumentative, The receptionist was not at all knowledgeable of any of the questions that I was asking her. And no she was not a new employee. I was hung up on and was asked if I wanted to cancel the remaining of my appointments. The only thing I called there for was to ask what the next step in my dental treatment was going to be. The dentist that is going to do my root canal called them and spoke directly to the dentist that was treating me and no one including the rude office manager had no clue what I was talking about. I was told we have no record anything that you are talking about so moving forward when you call here listen to what is being told to you and give us the respect that we are due. I tried to explain to her that I was sitting there when the other dentist called them the office manager continued to over talk me and would not listen to anything I had to say. She hung up on me twice. If you are loosing records/notes and being that disrespectful what are you going to do during the procedure that I will be paying you to preform on my mouth. No thanks keep your unorganized services and disrespect.

I want to share my experience in a fair and balanced way. While my overall visit did not leave me…read morefeeling comfortable enough to return, this review is not meant to tarnish the office or its providers. I understand that there are many moving parts that go into a patient feeling heard and comfortable, and sometimes things don't land the way they're intended. To begin, I'd like to highlight the dental assistant, Melecia, who completed my comprehensive imaging and blood pressure and made a wonderful first impression with her warm, patient, and attentive approach. She also made genuine conversation, which helped personalize my experience and put me at ease. Unfortunately, there was confusion regarding the purpose of my appointment. I had scheduled what I believed to be a cleaning with the hygienist, but the visit turned out to be an establishing appointment only. This was not clearly explained beforehand or during the visit. I later learned that a full assessment is required prior to scheduling a cleaning, which I understand; however, this could have been communicated more effectively. Had I known, I would have attempted to schedule both appointments on the same day, but that was not presented as an option. The lack of clarity left me feeling uneasy, created a feeling of mistrust and uncertainty about the office's priorities--I questioned whether quantity was prioritized over quality. When I expressed my frustration, I felt my concerns were not fully acknowledged. The interactions with the providers created discomfort, and my concerns appeared to be passed along to other providers (Dentist to Hygienist) rather than addressed directly, which ultimately led me to request my imaging and recommendations to continue care elsewhere. Once a negative interaction occurs, timely acknowledgment and follow-up can make a significant difference in restoring patient comfort. While I have decided to seek care at another office, I hope this feedback helps improve communication for future patients. I do want to give credit where it's due -- Melecia was exceptional, and I also appreciate the office manager, Tami T., who took the time to speak with me afterward to understand my experience and potentially resolve the situation. That effort did not go unnoticed. As someone who advocates for patients professionally, I believe it's important for patients to feel empowered to direct their own care, choose providers thoughtfully, and seek environments where they feel both heard and respected.
