I had my solar installed by Jonas last year, and this year it has been cranking power on both cloudy and sunny days, they have come out and installed and tweaked a monitoring system so I can see how much I'm making and how much I'm using at any one time, real time. David A. Is to be commended for being the techie that got it really working well! They used a new Panel mounting system that allowed me to use Land scape orientation instead of portrait orientation which is much more attractive on the roof...The system is also set up to be plug and play hooked into a battery bank when they become more cost-effective to use... when I first bought this house I used Home Depot's 24 months free financing to buy and install my Mitsubishi Mr. slim heating and cooling. It was a huge mistake, because the company, Western Mechanical of Santa Rosa, did a fair job... And after finding out how far away Lakeport really is from Santa Rosa, decided to refund my extended warranty yearly servicing, cleaning, and repair instead of coming all the way out here to take care of any servicing or problems. I complained to the Home Depot contracted works dept. and they were of no help, which was to be expected. While my solar was being installed I mentioned to Russ Jonas and John Han that I was having problems with the cooling in my Mitsubishi Mr. slim mini split system, and they took over the care and repair of it just says if they had sold it to me. There may be other programs that are is good, but none that I've seen that are local, and living somewhere rural and geographically challenged like I do you really need a service that is close by so they can keep your systems up to snuff, and repair what needs to be done. I couldn't be happier, and will be using them for other projects in the near future, starting with battery power as soon as it becomes an affordable option for my solar system. read more

My AC went out on Friday night after working perfectly up until then. Struck me as an electrical connection issue and I call Jonas, who I have had a good experience with previously. Their tech diagnosed, amongst other things, that my system was low on freon. Sounded odd due to the sudden nature of the problem and my prior experience with systems that are low on freon. The onset of failure is usually not as sudden. My furnace, fully loaded by the factory takes 5.8lb of freon. I asked the tech what gauge reading would indicate that the system is full. He told me what the number should be. He added 3 lb of freon and got cold feet. We were both watching his gauge and the thing never moved. I suspect the system did not need any freon at all. The same guy diagnosed that my circuit board is bad preventing the fan from turning on. Consequently he jumped a capacitor that he diagnosed as bad. That made the fan come on permanently. What stood between me and a working AC was the last problem, a corroded breaker. I replaced the breaker the following day but my problem persisted. Had a second (different) guy from Jonas come out during regular business hours. He diagnosed and fixed the problem: A loose wire and a blown fuse on the circuit board. Price tag of the first visit: $ 469,- Price tag of the second visit: $ 138,- The first guy did not do anything but to sell me freon that I probably did not need. The low rating of the company is weighted towards the first guy. The second guy really gets five stars. However, when the company cannot shield a customer from one of their employees running up horrific bills without providing results, no after-hour disclaimer can serve to make me particularly happy about that. If the company cannot get competent employees to take call, then we have a management problem. read more

Don't bother they are rip off artist they take advantage of elderly people needed heat pump repair the repair man came out he didn't have a tool bag he didn't take the cover off and said you need a new unit and they could get us a new one for just under 5,000 dollars. We called a different repair man and it turned out that it was just the compositor a 56.00 dollar part. They should be ashamed companies like this should not be allowed to be in business read more

Bought a house in Clearlake about two months ago. The home has a forced air heating and cooling system that is old and noisy. After I bought the house, I heard about ductless heating and cooling systems that were extremely efficient and could save money on my energy bills. I went to Jonas Energy and spoke with Jesse. He came out to my house and gave an estimate for installing a Mitsubishi system. A month later the air conditioner stopped working during a heat wave. I called Jonas and told them my problem. Jesse set up an installation date and said he would loan us a portable air conditioning unit at no cost until the new system was installed. They brought a portable air conditioning unit out the same day and set it up. On the installation date, the crew arrived early. After a quick greeting, the three man crew went to work on different parts of the house. The crew was done in about seven hours and did a great job. Before leaving, Tyler (the owner's son) sat down with us and explained how the entire system worked. The entire experience was very nice! read more

Came out to fix my Monitor heater after I drive to their store to pick up the part myself. While at the store, we realized it wasn't 100% clear if the part would work. Scheduled a tech to come out who also did a winterization of my swamp cooler. My only issue is he installed a weird turn off at the hose bib which began leaking. I had to call a plumber to do it the correct way vs the temp/short cut Jonas did. They are kind of pricey but I feel they provide decent service. At this point, I will use them again. read more

Try another company! We purchased the Mitsubishi Mr. Slim heating/air conditioner for a commercial business. The unit stooped peforming properly at 10 months. The technician from Jonas and said we needed a part which took a week to arrive. When another technician came back to put in the part he said it did not need a part but the problem was on the part of Jonas because they did something incorrectly in the installation! We made an appointment for the annual service. We waited all day but no one showed up. Called and spoke with John. He said someone SHOULD have called us to cancel but he was sorry no one did. Explained it was quite a job for us to move the store items in order for them to come not to mention the day is wasted. After all we just did that two months ago for the repair! Their customer service and John's attitude are extremely unprofessional. We will look for another company to service our three units. Too bad; this used to be an outstanding company with an impeccable reputation. read more

I was out of town today. I had called Jonas on Thursday and asked for a visit to most likely change a capacitor on my AC condenser. They said they were too busy, but could do an emergency visit on Saturday. I agreed since my guy was not able to come up right away from Santa Rosa. Ive never changed a capacitor, and no that can store energy for a long time and wasn't sure how to discharge it safely. They charged me for the emergency visit, then charged me 120.00 for a 12.00 capacitor. When my wife called me I about fell over. Thats a 1000% markup. I left a message with their service five minutes ago. Normally I would call first and ask, but a 1000% markup need to be up here for everyone to see. read more

I called Jonas for a heater repair on my rental in Clearlake. They said the service call would be $127.00 I said OK, they went right out to the rental, the tenant called me and told me the heater tech said it was a bad Thermostat and for an additional $225.oo they could change it! I said NOWAY would take care of it. anyways they got there 127.00 for the service call. that weekend my husband and I went to the rental and discovered the switch on the back of the thermostat was clicked to Off, we had already had a new one with us so my husband changed it out. I was angry so I called Jonas and explained what had happen, the woman took my info and asked the the job address so they would know what tech went out, I gave her that info, she said she would have a manager call me back on Monday, (this was Saturday) no one ever called. I will NEVER use this company again, I feel they are way out of line with the prices as well as they can not be trusted. BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THEM AND WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. read more

Jonas came in more times than I can count. It was one thing after the other. They would "fix" something and then it would "break" in a week it would not be fixed at all. it was always something new that needed to be fixed. When my husband or I would ask why they didn't fix it the last time they were here they said it was just something different this time. We found it VERY suspicious. 10 times in one year? We went with another company. They FIXED the problem, which was minor. They haven't been back. Another MAJOR problem we have is John's temper issues. He blasts you over the phone. When you tell the techs they say they hear that all of the time. The owners know it's an issue and do nothing. After the third time of him going off on me my husband said that was it. That's when we went with another company and found out that Jonas was scamming us and that's when we finally got out heater fixed for good. read more

We have a rental home on the lake and the A/C went out the same day the renters arrived when it was 105 outside. Needless to say we were in trouble. We called Jonas and they were out that Friday evening after 6:00 for the repair. It was a bad capacitor and they serviced the unit while they were there. The best service and fair price for the time of day. They were very busy but fit us in anyway. We will be calling for regular maintenance from here on. read more
