Mexican Apple Pie
Steven P.

Exactly as I expected plus a tad bit better because of pie?!? I knew because of Covid that I could only do drive thru which was fine by me. I also knew this place was the fast food version of Mexican in Springfield. I grabbed the usual suspects, two hard shell beef tacos and a beef sancho. Both were good and in fact, I actually like their sancho better than Taco Gringo's (less grease by far). The surprise to me was the Apple Mexican Pie...I ordered it simply from the name with no questions asked. It was like an enormous pile of broken churros with the apple pie stuffing from McDonald's and then crushed up red hots sprinkled on top! It was delicious and so big I had leftovers for the night. If you want quick Mexican give it a go; by the way, I had the friendly employee, not the grumpy owner that other reviewers have commented on.

Satisfying, but not traditional Mexican by any means. I ordered the Sancho deluxe after reading other Yelp reviews. It was pretty tasty & consisted of meat, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, & lettuce all wrapped in a flour tortilla. The nachos were fair, kind of bland, but ok. The hot sauce has some "zing", but is not really hot. The portion sizes are good & if you drink water, you can spend around $6 for lunch. Cash only - they don't take credit cards! Meh, not bad, but not a mind blowing experience.

The Sancho! So good!

10 min to get served at drive thru today (that's not typical) - this taco salad/hot better be worth it....and it is. Yum.

The taco stand I've waited my entire life for! Cheap food, great taste, nothin fancy but immaculate nonetheless.

I was looking for something with beans and originally ordered the breakfast huarache, mistakenly assuming it was a burrito. I prefer flour tortillas over corn, which started a whole conversation about how the dish is prepared. First, our waiter went to the kitchen to check on modifications, then a second waiter kindly came over to explain the traditional preparation, and finally, the chef himself came out to help! He explained that a huarache is open-faced, not a burrito, but immediately offered a perfect solution: he could custom-make their breakfast burrito using pinto beans as the protein for me instead. When the chef brought it out, it was HUGE. He took the time to explain exactly how he made it and told me to just ask for him or request the modification next time. Not only was the service incredibly attentive, but the burrito was easily the best I've ever had. It's 9 hours later and I am still full from eating just half of it! The food is amazing, the restaurant is clean, and it's clear this team truly cares about their customers. We will definitely be back!

Authentic Mexican Flavors with a Beautiful Presentation!…read more This place serves some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while! I ordered the green enchiladas, and they were absolutely delicious--perfectly rolled tortillas filled with flavorful meat, smothered in a rich green sauce, and drizzled with crema and queso fresco. The refried beans were smooth and creamy, and the rice was fluffy with a great seasoning. The burrito was a showstopper! Stuffed with tender steak and grilled veggies, then topped with a creamy, slightly spicy sauce and fresh pico de gallo. The drizzle of crema and queso fresco gave it an extra layer of indulgence. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portion size was very generous! Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you're craving authentic Mexican food with bold flavors and beautiful plating, this spot is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back! Would highly recommend!

I thought the chicken was stringy and tough but I agreed with her about the beef and the tortillas themselves were great. Neither of us liked the chips and salsa...the chips were dry and the "salsa" tasted like tomato sauce that had a little hot sauce added to it. The atmosphere was tired and, on a day when it was 100-plus outside either the air conditioning couldn't keep up or, worse, hadn't been turned on at all.
