The service was excellent The ambiance was sterile and the temperature inside the restaurant way too cold The salad with melon was excellent. The beef was mostly fat, and the potato dish was uninspired. read more

Our reservation was for 5pm on Saturday. We had tickets for a show at the Lamb Player's Theater, so we're limited with time. The place was clean and sparsely decorated with a bit of an industrial feel. It's a small restaurant but you won't feel cramped. Jack served us and we were surprised that they had an "Oyster Hour" from 4- 6pm every day they are open. Since it was so early, we decided to stick with appetizers and a salad. We had the Peruvian Scallops and fresh Baja oysters. So delicious and fresh! Then came the Potato Croquettes (highly recommended by Jack) . They were crispy on the outside and light & fluffy on the inside, delish! Next came the fish filet sliders on a brioche bun, yum! Followed with the Shrimp and Melon Salad, the dressing was amazing! It was bright & sweet. Our last dish was the crab toast, fresh & tasty! It was a wonderful meal and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Coronado. read more

We had a wonderful dinner here. The food was interesting and delicious. Loved the shared plates approach that allowed us to try multiple items. We agreed our favorite was the fried cauliflower appetizer but all was very good. The service was excellent, many thanks to Jack for his good suggestions and they were kind enough to give us complementary champagne to start our meal and celebrate our anniversary. read more

Do you want to splurge? My wife took me here for my birthday. They offer a 4 course meal for $120/each. You can add a wine pairing, as well, for more $. We don't drink alcohol, but they also offer a nonalcoholic beverage pairing. My wife bought that for me. Each course has four choices and you need to decide which 4 you are going to choose. Each dish looks fabulous. The service is impeccable! After we made our choices, the waiter would bring each dish and announce it, letting us know what it was. Then the nonalcoholic beverage would arrive and be announced. And it was amazing how well each blended with the food! The silverware was replace with each dish. The portions were small, but we both agreed we were full at the end and that the whole experience had been worthwhile. My only problem is: what to do for HER birthday! read more

Go here! And get the amazing shrimp and melon salad. Everything we had was good. Wine list was great. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent service and excellent food. Came here on a whim with my family. Will absolutely be back

We took a chance on Jolie based on reviews and HOLY SMOKES did it deliver. One of our Top 10 meals ever (compared to New Orleans, Chicago, New York, San Sebastián, Paris, Madrid,...). We asked about a chef's tasting menu (in Jolie vernacular it's called "trust the chef") and 7 courses later we were just blown away. The addition of charming wine pairings made it even more remarkable. What an absolute hidden gem in Coronado. read more

A gem of a restaurant in a very touristy town. The menu was simple, meaning the quality of food really shone. To start the oysters and Peruvian shallops were fantastic. The pork chop and loup de outstanding. Service was attentive yet not overly hovering. Dessert and wine also complemented the evening. Overall the simplistic ambience and outstanding menu was a welcome repose from chain restaurants. Highly recommend! read more

We have eaten at Jolie once, but we'll go again. The service and food were excellent. The space is plain, kind of a utilitarian look. But the food is adventurous, not the usual restaurant fare you get in Coronado. It's a fairly small menu, but clearly thought and imagination have gone into it. We started with a couple Peruvian scallops and Bluefin Crudo, both absolutely lovely. I have to note that when the menu item says there is chili in the dish, THERE IS CHILI IN THE DISH. My husband, who has a higher tolerance for spice than I do, was in heaven. I surreptitiously took a few chili flakes off my slice of bluefin. I'm sorry, Chef, I'm a wimp. Then shrimp and melon salad, another winner, heavy on the shrimp! The melon took the edge off the Serrano chili in the dish, except when I accidentally breathed a bit off chili into the back of my throat. Our exceptional server, Jack, not to be confused with the other server Jack, brought me a tiny bowl of crème fraîche that cleared things up nicely. For entrees we had halibut and loup de mer, both excellent. The loup de mer looked odd, like a deep- fried canoe, but it was perfectly cooked and very light. Halibut was also perfectly cooked, we preferred it to the loup de mer. There is a nice wine list. Portions are not huge, which is really nice for a change. We didn't save room for dessert, but we'll have to try again another time. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable about both food and wine. Definitely recommend. read more

High marks for this up and coming award winning restaurant in downtown Coronado. Beachy food with paired wine was a memorable 19th anniversary dinner. So impressed with the theme of the meal which was Asian miso pistachio tomatillo and melon freche seafood with puffed quinoa -- plus one potato pomme with tomato. Needs a theme identity but is so delicious! Excellent service and neighborhood vibe. read more

Four of us had a very nice meal in celebration of a special birthday. Our server Jack was attentive and helpful, bringing over some complimentary bubbly when he heard it was a special occasion. Arancini and cauliflower appetizers were tasty, good to share. The pork shoulder and scallops were standouts, and the salmon was perfect, although a small portion (keeps the price down?) - left me wanting more, which is ok. This is a nice addition to the scene here and we'll definitely be back! read more

I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant! The food was truly outstanding, boasting an incredible flavor mix that delighted my taste buds. Each plate showcased a perfect balance of flavors, both individually and when combined. Our group of four received excellent guidance from the staff, who suggested we sample a variety of dishes from different sections of the menu. It was a tough decision because everything was so delicious; we couldn't pick our favorites! Things I will be back for are the carpaccio, octopus and porn belly! read more

We had a lovely dinner at Jolie. The ambiance was pleasant, the service was excellent and the food was amazing. A refreshing all around experience. We had a party of 4. Being that it was our first time here we tried to order different plates so we could share and try . Portions perfectly sized and we loved all the starters , salads and main dishes as well as dessert. Wish I could remember our server's name. He was very attentive and insightful. We are locals and plan on dining here again in the future. read more

Here's a new restaurant in Coronado that invested in what matters: good food. Don't mistake the clean decor for a plain or basic vibe because this place is anything but. As a a Coronado local I'm always intrigued by new restaurants and Jolie was opening on a block with some strong competition near by. But the promise of a seafood tower will always get my partner and I to venture out. We were not disappointed. We started with the octopus, which is easily my favorite in town- big words when I'm comparing it to Serea at the Del and Serranos next door. It was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Then moved on to the filet mignon carpaccio which was surprising: I never would think to pair the melt in your mouth steak with fresh celery and the deep black garlic truffle sauce but it provided a bite that took your senses on a full journey. We then moved on to the main event: the seafood. The oysters, crab dip, and marinated prawns were all very solid selections. However the scallops and yellowtail crudités really left us talking. We often visit this part of town to visit Saiko sushi a couple doors down but laughed that the yellow tail/scallops, while solid, are never a favorite; not so here at Jolie! The yellow tail was tender and flavorful and paired really nicely with the capers. The raw scallops were sweet and the Thai basil and chili really set them apart. Jolie is a little gem that has done a fantastic job of setting itself apart in the midst of a block of home town favorites. And that's just talking about the food. I have to add a nod for the wonderful service we received from Molly and the rest of the staff. Friendly service is always a wonderful compliment to a great meal. read more

Love it love it. Amazing food great service from the entire staff. We did the trust the chef seven course meal and it was terrific. I can't get over how unbelievable the dishes were, so creative. The melon shrimp salad was the show stealer. Can't say I've ever liked melon salad of any kind until this one, delicious. Did not get to try the pork belly or the scallops so we will be back soon. Thanks to the chef Pedro and the entire staff for making it a great dining experience! read more

We were so excited to try Jolie because of the fabulous reviews but we left very disappointed. The restaurant is small and only has one server, which would have been fine except our server was bad. He treated us like we were ordering at a bar instead of a high end restaurant - We felt rushed to place our order and he didn't provide any feedback on dishes or specials. When we ordered, he assured us the kitchen would course our meal but that did not happen. Once we got our food, we quickly realized that it was worse than the service. All of our dishes were served to us cold. The gnocchi and pork chop were so cold that we didn't finish the plates. If you want to go to a nice restaurant for a special occasion, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Food is so good and different from usual fare. We have been a few times now and enjoyed each meal.

We arrived early. Service was great. Had the yellow tail app which had a delicious lemon vinaigrette. Really enjoyed the gnocchi/shot rib and king salmon entree. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Nice wine. Will try again. read more

This place was absolutely a rip-off. Picture a tiny fast food restaurant size and layout with 30-45 dollar entrees and $20 appetizers. BTW they do not have happy hour anymore. BTW you are repeatedly told you can not order in stages. And, three-four bites per entree. Ridiculous! Uncomfortable chairs and cheap tables. Bad and rude servers. The tiny bites were good except for the over dressed salad. But we ordered two orders of stale bread with good butter on one plate ($9 each), five scallops over spiced $25 appetizer), one mushy salad $16, one salmon 3 ounces maybe $34, fizzy water over $125. Seriously, a rip-off. All on our birthday/anniversary celebration. BTW, two tables and the waiter talked back about bringing the paid $9 bread early for my hungry kid. Ugh. read more

Fantastic place! We visited for the first time and had one of the best meals and best service experiences of any restaurant we've visited in the USA, Mexico, or Europe. We were the very first customers to order from the latest (quarterly?) updated menu. Our server, Jack, was very knowledgeable about the menu and the preparation of each item. He provided exceptional attentive and respectful service with grace, humor, and excellent wine-pairing advice. Chef Jason's dishes all had a great combination of flavors and textures, including fascinatingly crispy quinoa and kale. We highly recommend trying Jolie Coronado and look forward to visiting again. (Kept forgetting to take pictures because we were enjoying ourselves, but got one mid-consumption shot of the Pork Belly starter.) read more

Ok, the last time I left an exceptional review for a restaurant was for an exceptional restaurant in Nice, France. So this is a true highlight when I tell you Jolie is a Michelin star food AND service experience but at reasonable prices. For reference, I have experienced multiple Michelin restaurants in multiple continents......The gentleman who checked me in this evening, was respectful and courteous. The waiter knowledgeable , affable, and introduced me to the chef tasting menu (not on the menu, but had heard from other yelpers). In short it DOES NOT disappoint, but more on that later: I wanted a glass of white wine. Not sure of some of their varietals or winemakers ...., the very kind waitress allowed me to taste several options that suited my palate. She truly wanted me to be happy. A wonderful lady. The service is understated but attentive. The chef ... THE CHEF... even came out to refill my glass of water. I was in shock and couldn't even bring myself to stand to greet him. This is why I say, you won't get this service anywhere else. The food.. exceptional. But if I had to use a better word, it would be balanced. For example: part of my chef tasting menu was a sweet yam with bbq sauce, pickles and pickled red onions...... and yet NOT ONE flavor outpowererd the other . This is what I mean by balanced. Course after course, e flavors balanced each other on the palate. I truly hope this chef and restaurant achieve success . After a long time of spending 200$ or more for a family of 4 on mediocrity, I am able to spend the same with Michelin or first class food. Best of luck , Your anonymous friend! read more

This location is new and the renovations aren't done to reflect the quality of the food and service...but don't be deterred. The experience was simply FABULOUS. We had a great meal last Thursday at Jolie. The staff was attentive and the food was excellent. In particular, we especially enjoyed the steak tartare as an appetizer and the wedge salad. Chef made a special Carmel flan for dessert which was awesome too. One of our best meals experienced while on vacation! read more

Every single thing we had here was jaw dropping phenomenal. We were able to enjoy the oysters, which were perfectly salty. We also tried the scallops which were my favorite thing of the night! For our main we did the salmon; seasoned and cooked perfectly, and I tend to be a salmon snob. Every sauce that accompanied each dish was the perfect pair. Nothing was overpowering the main component and it was the perfect marriage of flavors. The service was also phenomenal, attentive but not annoying which I appreciate. We will definitely be back! read more

Service wasn't very good at night we when. They had guess chief that night. The dishes were delicious.

As a local, I am thrilled to have a new fresh concept in Coronado dining with fantastic food and great friendly service, with very reasonable prices. We sampled about 5-6 dishes before going to a play at Lamb's Theatre and every one of them was a delectable treat. We eat plant based and Chef Jason had no trouble satisfying our appetites with a variety of flavorful and creative plates. (Unfortunately, we devoured most of them before I remembered to take pictures.) The wine selections were also refreshingly different. We will be back soon. read more

Don't bother with this place. Small portion sizes and weak service. They had 3 people working at the busiest time on a Saturday night and one of those people was heating up food in a make-shift kitchen. They also claimed to serve us a 16oz steak that was literally no more than 6oz. read more

Just left Jolie for our first visit. The food is exceptional! What really sets this place apart from others is the amazing service paired with the delicious food! There are places that have one or the other. Jolie has both! Jack helped us and was phenomenal. Probably one of the best people I have ever met at a restaurant. This was a gem of a find. It's a new restaurant that is bound to blow up because the food is divine. The service was fantastic and they took such great care of us. We had the two crudos, ribeye steak and crispy kale, Caesar salad, and the bread and butter. Nothing disappointed! Don't forget dessert!
