We came to know Jojo's Jerky because a family friend asked us to bring back the goods. Perfect souvenir stop for my carnivore at home who enjoys trying new brands. For $27, I bought four varieties: a 3-oz. bag of Spicy Carne Asada, & 2 oz. each of Pepper, Teriyaki, & Triple Threat (the only one we've yet to try which supposedly has some heat.) Flavorsome & tender, though not bumping his favorites from their top spots. In hindsight, I should've picked up bacon jerky or a more unique product like Carnivore Crisps for him to sample but at the time I was laser focused on beef jerky. Excellent service. Super unfriendly staff. There's a sign at the door to use the other door but to also ring the door bell (that's next to the door with the sign to use the other door). So we rang the door bell and the two women inside look up and point at the door to just come in. When we got in, no "hello", no "can I help you?", nothing. One woman went back to the rear and the other stayed at the computer and ignored us. There's no prices on anything. Only time she talked to us was when we went up to pay for our things, but pretty much just to take my payment. Again, not even asking if we needed help with anything or how we found anything. Hands down the best beef jerky in town! My colleagues and I after trying about 100 types of jerky from all over the US, consider ourselves jerky connoisseurs. The five of us rate jerky on a scale of 1-5 based upon multiple criterion including smell, texture, taste / flavor and heat / burn. We even have guest eaters who chime in for added votes. After about 2 years of rating, Jojo's has the top spot and 6 flavors in the top 21! Triple threat beef jerky has been our #1 ever since we tried it over a year ago. Today was my first time going to the Jones store, they have a wide selection of options including vegan. Cactus, turkey, beef, salmon, nuts, pickles, sauces etc. If you think you like spicy give the Jojo's Black label a try and see if you don't cry! Hell on Earth or Triple threat is more tame but still has a good lingering burn. Jerky is all natural and made inside this location. They grow their own peppers and make their own rub. Was looking up spicy jerky online and discovered this location. Their spiciest jerky is called the "black label". They have a variant in sauce form as well. As a guy who loves spicy things, I bought a pack of the black label and a few other bags of jerky. When I got home, I immediately tore into the black label bag. It was probably the spiciest thing I have ever eaten. I strongly recommend you DO NOT eat majority of the bag in one sitting like I did. If you want spicy, I highly recommend the black label. The other jerkies I got tasted great. However I had to wait a few days before my taste for jerky came back. Will buy from again. Bonus: They do everything in town AND you can buy custom label jerky from them as well. read more

Found this shop by random and thought i'd give it a shot because I love Jerky. I saw a package called Triple Threat which is spicy jerky and I love spicy foods and surprisingly its a perfect amount of spice for those who love spice and I mean love spice. I also grabbed a bag of there peanuts for my girlfriend and the flavor was ranch which she loves so I bought one and she loved them gonna get more the next time i'm on this side of town and maybe try some of there other flavors of jerky and peanuts. The guy that works here or owns this place is definitely awesome. Located in the container park down town I think this is a neat little store. Aside from varying different jerky they sell nuts and some of their apparel. BTW their shirts are printed on American apparel which is good quality stuff. Anyways after I tried a bunch I bought the 3 for $20 which was a good deal for speciality items. The jerky flavors were all pretty good but I honestly didn't like the texture of the meat. I couldn't see myself eating it a whole bag let alone 3. I support local places so that's all I'll say. They do give samples so definitely try them out. My favorite jerky, I stop by at least once or twice a month and buy 5 bags per visit since you get better value and less than 3 bags is not enough! I was recommended by a friend a few months ago and haven't stopped coming ever since. BBQ Brisket is my favorite with Horseradish in very near second place, so I recommend you get at least one of each on your first visit. The hot sauce is great taste but not my level of heat (but I am an extreme heat guy) the taste is 9.5 out of 10 heat is 3 out of 10 tops. Got the black label one and it was the hottest. So good! This place is one of the best surprises in town. We've bought their marinades at a couple street events over the last year and they were phenomenal. Anyways, just happened to be driving down Jones and noticed their actual full-time store so I made sure to stop by as stock up again. Sweet and Spicy Thai is probably my favorite. Most people know about Jojos from Farmers Markets or events. Same goes for me as I discovered them during a Yelp Christmas event. Recently they opened up a storefront in the Container Park (which has a separate listing) that is gaining them new fans. This location in Chinatown is their main office hub where the jerky is made, but they do sell their products here as well. It was right by work, so we decided to swing by once we found out it existed. The one downside is there isn't samples to try of the jerky before buying at this location. I assume they don't get that many people at this location and mainly is just their office. We decided to get wasabi flavor jerky, peppered strips, carloca carne asada jerky, and their jerk spice dry rub. The Carne asada and dry rub we threw into a gift for someone so I can't comment on that, but the other two were for us. The wasabi flavor was nice, but it was a tad salty for me. Their jerky isn't the thin sheet style, but more like chunks or nuggets which is tender and a bit more moist.The strips is pounded out meat that's formed into shape which is normally not my thing as most of them just taste fake and low quality, but I like their quality. I think I may like it better than the chunk jerky even. Support your locals! This is definitely better than average product and it really doesn't cost more than store brand jerky that is levels below in quality. read more

Jojo's is a perfect example of the need and rationale behind the phrase "buy local". Hans and his crew make the best jerky in the valley, hands down. You want strips? They have 'em. Nuggets? They have those, too. Not a beef lover? They have turkey. And the spice range goes from "mild enough for my mom" to "spicy enough to put me in the fetal position". The crew couldn't be nicer and they mean what they say when they add "a lot of love" to the ingredient panel. Speaking of ingredients, I can pronounce everything on the panel!!!! Even if you're not a jerky fan, I would strongly recommend adding Jojo's to your list. I met a gentleman selling Jojo's Jerky at a farmer's market on Eastern and Serene in early November 2013. I didn't purchase anything but wish I did. At a recent visit to the Container Park Downtown, I was delighted to find that there was a Jojo's location convenient and accessible. The man who helped us decide on our jerky was very helpful and attentive with samples, thoughts, and humor. We purchased one bag on this trip, which was Peppered (and gone about the same we got home) but will absolutely buy more in the near future. Ran into Jojo's Jerky stand while attending a Yelp event and boy was I glad I did. Now, I am not a jerky fan at all, but after trying a sample I was hooked! Their jerky is incredibly tasty, just right when it comes to how dry/cured it is (I've had some tough and super dry jerky in the past) and the best part...NO PRESERVATIVES. This stuff is so good I wish I had bought more than just one. Then I purchased a Groupon for dog treats, so I went to the Jones location. It's tucked in the corner of a little shopping center. If you love hot sauce, meat, free samples, and varieties of all of the above, this is your place! Definitely some of the greatest selections of jerky my crew and I have ever tasted. I can't have gluten, and they have an awesome selection of gf jerky (ingredients are clearly labeled and the staff is knowledgeable as well). Aside from jerky, they have incredible hot sauces! I have been here multiple times, I always try to buy extra jerky, and we always eat it all before we get back home. My best friend just moved to Vegas and I dragged her in there when I was visiting last, and she actually doesn't eat much meat and enjoyed all the samples! She has since gone back as well. I love JoJo's Jerky and so glad I stopped at their pop-up store at the Premium Outlet Mall in Las Vegas and bought the Triple Threat dry rub and the Hell on Earth hot sauce. Hooked ever since and keep the dry rub (either one) as a staple in my kitchen. Their hot products are some of the best (and hottest) spices I have come across in Las Vegas and the prices are reasonable. If you like hot and spicy, then this is the company for you. I use it in everything that I cook to give it a little or a lot of kick. Can't decide if Triple X or Hell or Earth (HOE) is hotter, so I generally buy both. Owner Hans and his team of Spice masters make their products from scratch in their warehouse/store on Jones. The technique is pretty awesome and samples and stories about each product and how it's made is a real plus. Downside, which products to buy...choices are extremely high. Over the years I have tried all sorts of Jerky. In December I was visiting Las Vegas from Michigan and found this store. The jerky is amazing, the Hell on Earth and Black are great if you like spicy food. Since December, I have placed several other orders and have tried the pickles (YUM), the peanuts, and Triple Threat hot sauce. I haven't tried anything that I didn't love. came to this location because didn't feel like dealing with container park or the location over at Bally's a bit hard to find, tucked away in the corner of a small strip mall very small retail spot, guy there told me that's actually where they do their production! in any case, they had a decent selection here better yet, had a groupon to use! scored 4 bags for 28 bucks! on this venture, I opted for their triple threat beef, horseradish prime rib, salmon jerky, and the bacon triple threat I also noticed they had some jerky dog treats available too! a bit pricey for the pups, but may try a bag soon this local business has grown quite a bit, and they do offer some pretty tasty varieties. First found out about them at a Lee's Liquor wine tasting event and have been a fan ever since. We were passing through Vegas on our way home...it was a long night and I HAD to get jerky to take home to family. I looked up reviews and this place came up as top rated. We called and Hans, the owner, answered the phone. Although the store was closed he said he was on his way to it to do some stocking and would open it up for us if we'd like. First impression was that it was meant to be....we were on our way and received a call back from him just to let us know he was there and opened up for us. Once we got there, his enthusiasm was amazing. I have never met someone so passionate about his job and so interested in pleasing his customers. He explained the entire process in the jerky making business, and showed us his other items. Loved the fact that they don't let anything go to waste. The parts that aren't quality enough for jerky are used for dog treats....we will definitely be coming back when we're in town.
