After moving from Chinatown, we are trying out new restaurants and all sorts of new resources for our two dogs and our cat. Mooch's Munchies is one of those pet-honoring hidden gems tucked in behind fast food places and a gas station, on the east side of Rainbow, just before the 95. When I walked in for the first time last Tuesday, I could not have imagined what an amazing bakery-boutique Kellie and Casey have created for cats and dogs. The owners themselves have four dogs. The aroma of baked goods made me think I had walked in to a human confectionery, it smelled so sweet!! I zeroed in on banana peanut butter bones and chicken treats and I bought Bowser Beer, a broth containing glucosamine, which helps preserve joint health. The bakery is bright and the store has all kinds of products: treats, ads and business cards from pet-friendly services, pet toys, tee shirts, fun doggie bags and car stickers, dog and cat foods, and customer service with a smile. Purchases benefit a local pet adoption service, too! Every treat is hand baked and so you know your pets are receiving the same love that the owners' own dogs receive. My friend and i went to a #giveafetch event by Camp Bow Wow and they were one of the vendors there. The staff that helped us there were so enthusiastic about their jobs, dogs, and their product so we decided to try out their treats. My dog doesn't usually go for crunchy treats. He usually likes jerky treats and soft treats, but he loves their muddy bones treats & the peanut butter trainers. We got the 4oz bags for $4.99 (+ tax) each and I think it's a good deal! I went into this store for the first time today and was happy to meet the owner, Kellie. The kitchen is so clean that you could eat off of the floor. Kellie explained that the treats are all made from human grade food and with no preservatives. I tasted a banana treat and it was delicious; tasted just like banana bread! I ordered some peanut butter banana cookies for my 3 year old rottweiller (MAX) and within minutes got confirmation my order was being processed and it was shipped out from there the same day! I ordered them on a Thursday and got them in mail Monday with the cheapest shipping! When they were in my mailbox and brought them inside the house, in a standard cardboard box that they were shipped in, Max went Crazy jumping up and down higher thn i ever seen a 110 plb dog jumo ti reach them from me waiting for them to be opened.
