My wife has "total anxiety," meaning she hates hearing how much she's spent, and she always tells the cashiers to not say the total, and then I'll pay it. We've never had an issue with that anywhere except for one time at some other store the girl said the total out of habit and quickly apologized. But the cashier we had at this Walmart the last time we went had a look on her face like she just couldn't wait to do the complete opposite. When she was done ringing up our stuff she looked at me with gleaming eyes and a huge smile on her face and she announced the total loudly, then laughed, like a big "F YOU."
