It is what it is…read more I'm not a big shopping guy and even less a TJ Maxx guy. But, from time-to-time, I am dragged in there. So, if you've ever been to a TJ Maxx, you'll understand where I'm coming from. They place is always a disaster with a moderate rhyme-or-reason to where things are. Sure, you can find the luggage section, or the shoe aisles, or clothes, etc. But, you might be at the shoe rack and come across a decent pair of dress shoes, right next to a pair of slippers, right next to those measuring cups for the kitchen that you suddenly had to have. Now, I'm not sure if that's how TJ Maxx gets you or if that's just lazy customers. Either way, it's genius. Anyone who says that more than 75% of the time the go into a TJ Maxx for something specific but ultimately walk out with 1 to 9 items that they didn't come in for would be lying. On top of that, they're walking out with those 1 to 9 other items and in many cases, not what they originally came in for. These are hard facts. It's a brilliant marketing scheme. Being completely bewildered in an aisle that seemed to make very little sense to me, I asked on of the workers who was stocking the shelves how she knew where to even put things. I had been browsing through this aisle for a few minutes and noticed her taking things off of her stock cart and putting them on shelves, in between other completely related items. She said that in some cases they have a general idea where things go and just find a space. That's a perfect way to describe many of the aisles of TJ Maxx. Again - this is either insane or genius. I'm guessing it's the latter. Would I go back? I don't know. Probably. I would never think of going there. I'll never say, "hey, I need to run to TJ Maxx". But thinking about it, I should. Because they honestly seem to have everything you could ever think of. This isn't a bad review. Like TJ Maxx, it's a very hard to define review. If you like browsing, look no further. You could spend hours here. Think of it as an indoor scavenger hunt. Pro Tip: If you're looking for something in particular and don't find it in the area you locate that has similar items....say shoes... keep looking in other aisles around that general area or quarter of that part of the store. You may still find what you're looking for among things that are completely unrelated. This too, is a fact. I have literally had this experience myself. Think of it as a real life Highlights magazine picture search. I can almost guarantee if you look closely between the items in the aisle that has hard candies, holiday gnomes, assorted Keurig K-cups and socks, there is a real good chance you'll find that meat thermometer between the toddler size tap shoes and gourmet peanut brittle.

I've been needing a new bike and could kick myself for not getting it last year, because this year is quarantine and there are no bikes ANYWHERE! (I live in Indianapolis, IN) the bike 2 bikes I was interested in were not avails in store or online within a 100 mile radius from me. I called this location randomly after seeing it on a list of Ohio stores. I got on the phone with Alec and explained my situation. After 3 purchases saying bikes were available here with immediate cancellations/ refunds for "out of inventory" (even though there was inventory to buy lol) he got the reason I was calling to get some help over the phone. When I say this guy went above and beyond, he REALLY went above and beyond. He confirmed that they had the bike I was looking for at their location, but it wasn't the right size frame. He called I think it ended up being 3 different surrounding locations that he knew of that were between him and me. We ended up finding my size at Miamisburg OH and it was already put together (omg yes!). I'm not familiar with this location at all prior and I didn't even purchase the bike from this store, but I wanted it to be known that this location fosters great customer service! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

They print and sell their own shirts. Largely Hamilton shirts but a few of their own. They can do custom work if you ask, too. On shirts or furniture. Or business cards. Pretty much everything. The store is this big jumble of jewelry and old toys. T-shirts and framed pictures and signs. There's a huge map painted on the wall. It's bright and cheery, lending a sort of "We love Ohio" feel with a warm and familiar reminder of a schoolhouse. It's fantastic. The number of shirts there is pretty impressive. I had one printed. I had so many questions, I'm sure I was a bit obnoxious, but everyone was incredibly nice. I even had a tour of the facilities, including the back part of the store where the big dryer for the ink on shirts is and the big six shirt silk screener is. All the reclaimed materials they use for newly designed pieces and art pieces is back there, too. They were making a huge desk for the tattoo place down the street when I walked through the shop. It was gorgeous. Unsung Salvage is run by a bunch of family members and it feels like it. It's a really nice space. Relaxed. It smells nice. I don't know if it's paint fumes or potpourri. Either way. Some places are uncomfortable to shop in or I just feel strange asking questions but shopping here, talking to everyone, purchasing, supporting my city, it made me really proud. I'd love to learn how to do what they do. They said they might be working on a screen printing night event. Unsung Salvage also makes appearances at events such as Operation Pumpkin. If you aren't just driving by, maybe call first to check the hours. It's worth it. Street parking in front of the store is limited but if you go around the side of the block there is very convenient "pocket parking" available. Be sure to check out the lights on the ceiling. They're from the Champion Paper Mill.
