I'm a 2008 alumna of Miami of Ohio, and while I was an undergraduate I happily parted with some of…read morethe money I earned working on-campus on clothes from this boutique. I didn't buy new clothes that often, so when I did, it was a very special occasion. I have so many fond memories of the beautiful, unique items I bought here. I have a great memory for what I wore during special events in my life, and many of the items I bought here I associate with looking fancy on certain dates and for class presentations. Last year I returned to campus in the summer because Oxford was a stop on a week-long cycling and camping tour. This meant I brought very few cute clothes on my journey. As I wandered about uptown, I saw in the distance one of my favorite professors from undergrad getting Starbucks, which meant that she'd eventually be back in her office for me to stop by and say hi. But one can't catch up with important people looking like a scrub who's just cycled 50 miles! So quickly I dashed into Juniper, bought a fabulous summery casual dress and a striking hair tie, changed my outfit in the store, stashed my athletic shorts and tee into my purse, and headed over confidently to Hall Auditorium. Juniper did not fail me in having excellent options and reasonable prices even with the passing of the years! The selection of items for sale is so wide for such a modest store: tops, bottoms, dresses, swimsuits, fancy underwear, jewelry, and beauty products. The fitting rooms in the converted elevator shaft are a unique touch. And the location in uptown couldn't be better!

They're well-made and different enough to stand out from all the Gap/Old Navy, Express/Limited and Pacific Sunwear/Wet Seal clones. They have great end-of-season sales, too! The shop owner is friendly and helpful, but the college valley girls that work there are a little less than that. Oh, well.

It is what it is…read more I'm not a big shopping guy and even less a TJ Maxx guy. But, from time-to-time, I am dragged in there. So, if you've ever been to a TJ Maxx, you'll understand where I'm coming from. They place is always a disaster with a moderate rhyme-or-reason to where things are. Sure, you can find the luggage section, or the shoe aisles, or clothes, etc. But, you might be at the shoe rack and come across a decent pair of dress shoes, right next to a pair of slippers, right next to those measuring cups for the kitchen that you suddenly had to have. Now, I'm not sure if that's how TJ Maxx gets you or if that's just lazy customers. Either way, it's genius. Anyone who says that more than 75% of the time the go into a TJ Maxx for something specific but ultimately walk out with 1 to 9 items that they didn't come in for would be lying. On top of that, they're walking out with those 1 to 9 other items and in many cases, not what they originally came in for. These are hard facts. It's a brilliant marketing scheme. Being completely bewildered in an aisle that seemed to make very little sense to me, I asked on of the workers who was stocking the shelves how she knew where to even put things. I had been browsing through this aisle for a few minutes and noticed her taking things off of her stock cart and putting them on shelves, in between other completely related items. She said that in some cases they have a general idea where things go and just find a space. That's a perfect way to describe many of the aisles of TJ Maxx. Again - this is either insane or genius. I'm guessing it's the latter. Would I go back? I don't know. Probably. I would never think of going there. I'll never say, "hey, I need to run to TJ Maxx". But thinking about it, I should. Because they honestly seem to have everything you could ever think of. This isn't a bad review. Like TJ Maxx, it's a very hard to define review. If you like browsing, look no further. You could spend hours here. Think of it as an indoor scavenger hunt. Pro Tip: If you're looking for something in particular and don't find it in the area you locate that has similar items....say shoes... keep looking in other aisles around that general area or quarter of that part of the store. You may still find what you're looking for among things that are completely unrelated. This too, is a fact. I have literally had this experience myself. Think of it as a real life Highlights magazine picture search. I can almost guarantee if you look closely between the items in the aisle that has hard candies, holiday gnomes, assorted Keurig K-cups and socks, there is a real good chance you'll find that meat thermometer between the toddler size tap shoes and gourmet peanut brittle.

Highlights included the Cincinnati skyline featuring "first in Ohio" (this Bricks & Minifigs was the first one in the state) and an Ohio-shaped wall display in the colors/design of the state flag. They had a nice selection of new and used kits and accessories (stands for completed kits, lights, etc). They also have a bulk brick area with different sized bags/containers to select from, and a make your own custom minifig area with an assortment of pieces from which to choose. The party room at this location is a really nice size; looks like it would be a great place for a party. This is located in a small shopping center with a good sized parking lot.

Posted on Facebook 1-20-2025:…read more The store is nice and looks well stocked and clean, but I had a bad experience with one of the workers. I went to the store with a box of loose pieces thinking they were Lego before the prominent design they use today, and wondering if they have a recycling program at least. An Indian guy, who is a worker there, greeted me and asked what I was looking for and told him my quandary and looked at my bricks. He decided to just scan it with his phone and use a Google app and tell they aren't Lego. I was shocked about it as I thought they were and showed me even the firefighter figures were from the 90s, and I saw the date on them and they were made in 1998. So, I asked what they were and he said he has no idea. I thought he would look more into it but chose to simply say they aren't Lego. So I said thank you and proceeded to walk out, as it's clear I'm not getting any help from this, but then the Indian guy preceded to walk towards me behind the counter thinking we're not done. I thought we were, but he seem to be pressing me about the bricks. Asking me what I was there for or do research too, even though I can do that on my own time but the guy is acting a bit rude. I only came here to the store to look at Bionicle stuff, and the loose bricks was another objective to coming here. I imagine the other staff members are nice, but that guy just rubbed me the wrong way. If you have any big lego questions at all, don't look to this place. Treat it as a regular store to buy lego. As of 4-30-2026: I revisited this place again, a lady treated me nicely at the front and the inventory is great but I think I'm seeing the same guy as before the last time I was there. Might be a manager or a senior worker. He appeared standoffish and is in the back of the place behind the same glass display as before, right across the build-a-minifig table where there is a rule about not messing with the torso arms (weirdly specific), so not really interested in making one if he is gonna keep leering at people. I do like I can get individual pieces and clothing, and there are a lot of minifigs, but honestly I feel put off by this location by that one experience I had of that associate. What makes this a bit irksome to me is that someone managing the social media of these locations seem to have gotten rid of the facebook group page of this specific location and my review I made of this place has been made to a regular post. So I feel the store is getting some criticism, and they seem to be hiding it. Anyway, I rather just go to Dayton Brick Shop, they have a west Chester location I like and the people have been informative at times and very nice (Also their pick-a-brick and create-a-minifig tables are bigger). But, the place does get a lot of customers, so it makes good money. I know there are good people working there, just that one guy really soured things for me. Be weary of who you talk to there.

I think this location seems to be about the same as the one near us but the quality of the merchandise was much higher. I wasn't sure if that ticked me off or I was just impressed. For one thing, this location still has a full men's section, with lots of dress clothes and not just jeans, shorts and casual wear like ours. I mean a really large men's suits and dress clothes area! The other departments seem a bit more the way macy's used to be instead of more like a Burlington Coat factory like ours. I needed to use the restroom which was very clean and well maintained too. Kohl's usually does this everywhere so I should praise them for that. Many other stores leave the restrooms smell,y trashy and often have broken stalls and urinals. I thought they were a little light on staffing out in the departments but a whole team of workers at checkout and guarding the front door (whoops I mean greeting people). A few times we had questions but could not find anyone to ask. That's the only reason they did not get five stars from me today.

Please do something about her ASAP. I bought two pillows with a buy one, get one half off sale. The pillows were $19.99 each. So I should have paid $30 for both, but they rang up as $19.99 each. When I pointed this out, she spoke to me in a super loud voice that she would have to increase the first pillow to $39.99 and sell me the second for $19.99. This is just insane and she continued to yell and scream at me in front of several customers. She kept saying "why do you not understand this?" It was so absolutely ridiculous.... The fact that she wanted to increase the price first and then her erratic child-like fit that she threw in front of me and others. District management: you have a large problem on your hands.
