I have to say, other than a muddy parking lot, the rest of the place was awesome! Very clean, friendly staff, prompt service and the food was par excellence! I had the roast beef dinner for $9 and my wife had the chicken fried steak. All was absolutely delicious, and the portions were more than plentiful. I hate to leave a rating this low. But I feel that Johnsons corner is going out of their way to provide terrible service. My wife and I went the other day for breakfast for dinner. (They serve breakfast all day) We waited an hour for our food. And it never came. Our server kept saying that it was coming. As we watched other tables with a different server get their food and leave. We were still waiting for our food. At the 1 hour mark we left without eating. Probably 1 bad server but johnsons corner seems to hire people who don't care about doing a good job. read more

The service was horrible , we got there 30 min before closing but we were starving considering we drove a few hours, the staff took forever to come to seat us and when they were ready they said they didn't have any food available to serve, I've been here before and it was amazing service and food but now I wouldn't recommend this place and will not be coming back! Whenever I am going into northern Colorado, I always take a stop here. They have snacks and other things you can take on the go, but the best part is the cafe. It is usually packed, but the line is not too long, maybe one or two parties. The people are nice, and the food is filling. I ordered some bacon with 3 eggs and a waffle, and it was amazing. It made me feel full and it tasted good. The only con was that they served me a cold sausage. Who would eat that? Visited the restroom prior to sitting, it needed attention. I'm sure the truckers mess it up quickly, but the gas station cashiers seemed plenty bored. I sat and waited more than 10 minutes prior to being able to have my drink order taken. The food took about 45-60minutes to arrive. A table next to me who was sat well after I arrived and had their order taken after mine, not only received their food first, but they had completed eating, paid and left before my food came. After the food arrived, the toast was cold and there was a dark mushy gunk in my potatoes (I believe it was debris from scraping clean the flat top cooking surface). My visit may have warranted a 1 star grade, but I've been here in the past and had slightly better experiences and I'm certain this was not the norm. It is still not something I could justify a 3 star (A-ok) grade for. Here is something positive to leave you with however: I cannot find anywhere else in the area that serves German sausage and the desserts / pastries that they have are large and delicious looking. Maybe take a look and see how busy the restaurant is when you come and if it appears overwhelmed, opt for a doughnut or pastry to go. I will certainly be updating my review upon my next visit to hopefully get these 2 stars upgraded. read more

The last time I was at this iconic roadside truckstop was about 20 years ago. Things haven't changed much. It gets busy on the weekends because the tourists traveling I-25 drop in for breakfast. The food is so-so. I had biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and hash browns. The best part was the hash browns. They're delicious. The B&G was right out of the can, glutinous gloppy gravy with no taste. Unremarkable, just like the ambiance. It was to a good breakfast what wonder bread is to a good sandwich. The standout was the truly poor service experience. As my Yelp tip indicates, I was at the counter with my adult son. Since it was busy, we sat at different spots in order to avoid waiting. There was one waitress working the section and my son's drink order was taken and delivered within seconds of sitting down. Then his breakfast order. Me? Nothing. Then the tatted tart does the same number for two other couples that sat down after me. I finally flagged the moron down and what an attitude I got, despite me being totally calm and polite. I always tip 20% on the total, including tax. Not this time. First time in memory. Hope you loved the flipping quarter, honey. Maybe you can buy a personality and some more body ink with it. Next time, I'll keep the pedal down and get better grub and service with a smile further up the road. read more

I have always loved this place. Even since I was a kid. Ample parking and always seating. Our waitress was amazing, sweet and Kind. Our food was delicious and fast. However their cinnamon buns are a must have...like really. You need them. Gravy is thick and creamy. Hash brows were cooked perfectly... Very natural tasting. Very good food. So we finally tried the infamous Johnsons corner. The initial service started a little slow but it was eventually brought up to speed. Our meals included the chicken fried steak, hot wings , and a bacon cheeseburger. Every one enjoyed their meal. We are anticipating the cinnamon rolls that this place is know for. We are taking them to go. But overall it was a decent drive for a Sunday and nice was to start our day that includes the outlet stores in Loveland. Our ticket without the dessert was $45 read more

Overall, solid truck stop experience. Stopped for breakfast after traffic had come to a standstill on I-25. Portions are big and my food was cooked to order. service was very good and friendly. Quite a variety of food available and breakfast is available all day. I was there on a weekday (friday) and it was not too busy. If you drive through Loveland, CO and don't stop at Johnson's Corner for a homemade cinnamon roll, you should be arrested by the cinnamon roll police. Johnson's Corner has the most incredible, mouth-watering, heavenly, melt in your mouth cinnamon rolls you will ever eat. If you don't drive through Loveland, you should still be happy because Johnson's will even ship their amazing cinnamon rolls to you if you'd like them to. Trust me; they're that good! Their famous cinnamon rolls aren't the only reason you should stop into Johnson's, however. The last time I stopped through I tried their chicken fried steak and eggs, and let me just say that not all chicken fried steak and egg dishes are created equal. The breading on the steak was perfect. It was just the right thickness, perfectly crunchy, and smothered in a nice thick white cream gravy. Moreover, I didn't know that regular over-medium eggs could ever taste so special, but whoever is doing the cooking in the back must put a little somethin' somethin' into those eggs because they were to die for. If you really want to have fun, sit up at the diner counter with the truck drivers. Who knows, maybe they'll even let you wear one of their John Deer Tractor hats. read more

My review is based on customer service. Full disclosure... I have not eaten here but my mom really enjoys the place. The managers (Both Chris') regularly go above and beyond for their customers. Of course driving back from Fort Collins today my friend told me about the famous cinnamon rolls here so we had to stop off. We were hungry so we stopped to eat some late lunch here as well. Now don't get me wrong, I get that it's a roadside stop, and a famous one at that and by no means have I really eaten at a place like this but it was a typical place, nothing extra special. I got the open faced green chili burger which was good, nothing too rave about. The green chili and burger was homemade, good. The cinnamon roll was HUGE. Very tasty and moist. I don't grant anyone 5 stars unless everything is on point, this morning, it was! Seated as soon as we walked in, quickly had our drink request taken and brought to us. The chicken fried steak was awesome, crust was perfect, eggs were done just like I requested, hash browns & gravy had great flavor. The toast had a unique toasting to it, similar to the campfire bread toasters....excellent. Halfway between Denver and Cheyenne, Johnson's Corner has always been a stop for me in my travels. Day or night, I can count on reasonably priced basic, good food here. Regarding the cinnamon rolls, I grew up in Colorado and now live in Chicago and Johnson's Corner's rolls are at least as good as the sticky buns I've eaten at the Walnut Room in Macy's (née Marshall Field's). Above all, Johnson's Corner is a great place to experience our mobile society in all its many flavors. Where are all these people coming from, where are they going? Not bad. Had a Bacon cheese burger and fries for $9. The burger was very good, the fries tasted old and from a frozen bag. Not fresh cut which is always better. Service was good. Pleasant atmosphere. Clean and just the right amount of buzz, not to quiet. I would eat here again From a trucker standpoint. Plenty of parking, lot is kept clean and organized. There is also free WiFi which is pretty fast. Cat scale, shower, lounge, large gift shop area. Interesting and historical place. Nice family restaurant, unusual for a truck stop. Store and restaurant services truckers, travelers and locals, so there can be some rough folks around. Weekly lunch specials seem to be a favorite with locals. Facilities are decent, clean and staff is mostly very friendly. Only negative over past few years was a waitress who I swear was on crack, but she still served us ok. Facilities and building could use a fresher up soon. Great place, food is really good. Has flavor not bland. Our waitress Anna was attentive and polite. My wife had a bacon cheese burger an she really liked it. I had the a Philly sandwich an it to was very good. The fries an onion rings were crisp and flavorful. Prices were very good. I also appreciated the fact that the parking was easy and no rv's in truck slots or parked in the road way and the cars were parked in the car spots. An bonus to dog owners, a small pet spot! But some dog owners need to pick up after their fur kid so watch where you step inside the pet fence. Nice place overall. We will be back. read more

I have been going to Johnson's corner for years, many times a month. I have been loyal. Today for breakfast a CUP of oatmeal, a CUP of peaches and coffee, over $10.50. Not a bowl, but only a cup. During the past months I have been going other places and discovered a new world of small independent restaurants, who care, the way Johnson's corner used to care about all of us neighbors. With these kind of prices and management who can't( because they don't have any authority or won't because they don't care) make service decisions and commitments I will be saying good-by and giving my business and support to those who do care. Sad, but I was born and raised poor. I worked long hours and many jobs to get to this place in my life, and I will continue to spend my money where I get the most bang for the buck, quality, quantity and caring service. I love this place and have loved this place for many years. I got a chance to come back for breakfast recently and it was wonderful! My eggs were cooked exactly the way I ordered them (I'm picky about my over medium well eggs) and all of the flavors I remembered were there, just as expected. I hope to make it back here every now and then for a trip down memory lane and a nice hot breakfast. In contrast to my previous review, the place has developed a new personality with the new look but has retained the same vibe and even some of the same staff! It's a greasy spoon, but my eggs and bacon were better than your average diner joint. Split the gigantic cinnamon roll with my boyfriend and we both loved it. Went to brunch here today. Was seated sooner than expected. Our waitress took our drink order and then food order, so far so good. They were busy... and we soon were ignored. Coffee cups empty... I had to flag down our waitress - Ana. We asked for a refill. She proceeded to take 2 more tables orders and get a tables drinks before bringing over more coffee...without a word spoken as if we were a nuisance to her. Our food took about 45 mins to come out and we were served with attitude from our waitress. After our food came, she never came back to see if everything was ok.
