I just want to start this review out by saying this is my first time ever leaving a negative review…read morein my 30 years. I have taken an adequate amount of time to make sure I can give an accurate review. My daughter first started her treatment at master orthodontic's in May of 2024, over the next 7 months there she had broken brackets almost every month, which was really hindering her progress. I wasn't positive if it was something she was doing wrong, or if the brackets were not being applied correctly. What I was told by many of the orthodontist assistants, was that they could identify by looking if it was a "hard" or "soft" break, hard being the patients fault, and soft being an issue with the application of the bracket. Twice in these 7 months I was told it was a hard break. I don't know the exact amount of times she had a broken bracket, but it was much more than 2. Finally in the 7th month, she went in and had yet another broken bracket. I expressed my concern to the assistant, simply stating I was worried about the fact that her brackets kept breaking and that she was hardly making any progress in this long amount of time, beings they couldn't move on to the next phases with her brackets consistently breaking. After expressing my concern, they brought Dr. Carlos over to speak with me (which I didn't ask for) but I was hopeful to get some advice, answers, etc. I expressed to him calmly that I was concerned about the number of breaks, lack of progress and said honestly that I was fully aware it could be completely my daughters fault but that I was just frustrated and wondered if there was anything I could do. He let me know that it had to be her fault and that he had no advice for me but that I was welcome to go to a new office. I was pretty shocked at that answer, in all these months I had never questioned anything and it felt pretty disheartening that when I finally did bring up 1 concern I was met with "you can change orthodontists" even though I was very honest that it could very well be my daughters fault. I told him I didn't wish to change orthodontists, thanked him, and made a follow up appt as usual. Fast forward maybe 2 weeks later, I received a letter from Carlos basically saying we are not welcome at his office anymore because he only wanted people there that raved about him and trusted him. He then went on to let me know in the letter about how he takes state insurance (which is what we have) as a service to the community, which I didn't feel was necessary for him to let me know, it felt to me as if he was trying to insinuate to me we were charity work and I should've been thankful and never questioned due to that. State insurance or not, he is still getting paid and I don't believe us having state insurance had any relevance in the letter. I did try to call and talk with him, but the receptionist told me that he just says we aren't a "right fit". I was genuinely confused and shocked but had to focus on getting my daughter new care. Because we do have state assistance, it was really hard to find her new care getting kicked out so abruptly. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, we've been with our new orthodontist for 7 months now and have not had ONE SINGLE broken bracket. This is why I waited to make this review, I figured this would be the only true test to know if it were my daughters fault, or an error in application.. she has made SO much progress, I'm aloud to ask any question without any of the employee's getting their ego/pride hurt (that's what I truly believe this was about) One big difference I have noticed between the offices, is the assistants have been in practice for 10, 20, 30 years. While at master, most of them are young. I'm truly so disappointed in not only the care we received at Master Orthodontist, but the way we were kicked out for simply asking a question. Especially if you are on state insurance, be very careful bringing your child here. The process of switching office's is a lengthy one, you have to do the entire process over again and run the risk of your child being denied care by the insurance even if they already have their braces on. I know Dr. Carlos knows how the process goes and I felt he did it spitefully because I questioned him. Luckily it turned out to be for the best for us, but I just felt obligated to warn others about our negative experience and hope no one else has to go through the same.

It has taken me awhile to make the decision to write an completely honest, non exaggerated review…read more I didn't want to do it while angry or in pain I had snap-on implants done by Dr.Sighne. In the beginning my sister who accompanied me to most appointments, and myself thought the staff seemed nice. The office manager, Sharon did a lot of the talking for the Dr and was involved with most of the appointments. From the very beginning there were problems with the denture. It was very difficult to snap on, and if it ever was put on, was quite painful. Even when the Dr. Was able, you could see that he was using a lot of brut strength in his attempts. I started developing sores and was experiencing more pain. I had to take them out to eat, and after several months was still on soft food. I am not a wimp, and have never been afraid to go to the dentist. I was getting frustrated, and losing some of the enthusiasm and hope I had in the beginning. I expressed my concerns to Dr. SIghne, and became teary eyed, and told him I was trying my best, but didn't know what to do. He became agitated , and tolded me that if I was going to conduct myself that way that maybe I should not come anymore and not be allowed on the property. I couldn't believe it. This was not a blubbering fest. It was a few warranted tears! I told him that I was sorry , all I want to do is eat normally and have something other then soft food. From there on Sharon ( office manager)was in charge of my treatment. If I past the dentist , in the hall , he wouldn't even look at me, let alone say hello. After a few more appointments, going on 2 years now, I was told to get a 2nd opinion!! I got 2. Having to pay one person $175. for the consultation, he wanted to put in permanent implants for several thousand dollars, while expressing some carefully worded negative comments about the work I had done. The other dentist said that I needed 4, instead of the 2 posts that I had, which caused a rocking ,unstable foundation . The procedure would cost me a lot more money. She seemed skeptical of the snap on denture I had in. I later found out the the posts didn't line up and probably would never work right! I called. Family Dental to give the results of the 2nd ( and 3rd ) opinion requested. I called a few times, before discovering that they were no longer accepting my calls. I had been blocked!! To be continued-

Turns out her hubby is a grilling/smoking aficionado like myself. So for the first time ever during a cleaning we're talking Weber and Traeger and Arthur Bryant and my beloved Aaron Franklin and his Austin TX eponymous BBQ featuring his world famous beef brisket. (I even got to see photos of her visit there. All the while Mandy's cleaning my teeth with special TLC for my poor, periodontal disease-suffering gums. It's important to me when a hygienist can engage in interesting conversation while continuing to do a superior job on my teeth. All the hygienists here are great. Dr. Chobot remains our long-time favorite family dentist, and we've been to a few dental clinics in town. And to top it all off, his clinic is located in a gorgeous wooded area that you can enjoy from any chair during your visit. I also enjoy when they put the sunglasses on me before getting to work on my teeth. I'm always waiting for the 3D movie to be projected on the ceiling above my chair. Maybe someday...
