I wasn't sure what to expect scheduling my 13 month old son's first dental exam, but it was so easy to schedule (had less than a week wait to get in), and the staff was so friendly and accommodating! Dr. Becker was so kind and warm, and did great with my son (who hates getting his teeth brushed/mouth prodded). Everyone made both of us feel very at ease, and I'm thankful to have found a wonderful dentist for future visits! My kids were patients at a different office for many years. Due to insurance changes, we switched to Dentistry for Children. After 3 visits with them so far, I wish we would have switched even sooner. The building is set in a wooded area and the area is so beautiful. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful as well. Dr. Seth & Dianne are great at what they do. Dental work on a toddler does not seem like an easy thing to do, but they manage to do it all with a smile and a warm demeanor. My toddler and older child love coming to their office! read more

My 5 yr old saw Dr Kim who saw a mark on her gums. She asked if it was bothering her to which I said no. Dr said she wasn't sure what it was and to wait it out..... 6 months later I was told the same thing "wait" I got a second opinion (and a 3rd) and both of those dentist were surprised she said wait bc this is a tale tell sign of an infection and is a common complication when having caps. This infection is beginning to harm the adult teeth and now surgery is recommended to have the caps removed before more harm is done to her adult teeth. I'm sure antibiotics early on could have saved us from the surgery she is now about to have. read more

Today was my 6 year olds first time going to Dentistry For Children and they were AMAZING!!! They were very accommodating, fitting him into their very busy schedule last minute for his emergency visit. Each person we came in contact with was so kind and friendly. They made my son feel at ease, explaining step by step what they were doing and joking with him along the way. THANK YOU for taking such good care of my boy. My kids love going to the dentist (Dr. Becker) here and have seen him for the past 10 years. The office is welcoming and efficient. I have never had to wait for my children to be seen. Their insurance billing is spot on; never had a problem which I have had with other practices. Love that Becker is conservative in his treatment, for example, watching a hypo calcified spot instead of instantly putting in a filling. One of my children received a mouth injury in PE at school and Becker's office was the first point of treatment and follow-up care (she also had braces), but they were great and very comforting for something that was upsetting and traumatic for my child. My oldest child is about to "age" out of the practice and we will be very sorry to have to leave. read more

Like another reviewer, I drive nearly an hour to visit their office. After a not so great experience involving my son with another practice on Bainbridge Island, I wanted to find a child centered practice - and Dentistry for Children has been great. My son actually enjoys going to visit Dr. Becker and the other dentists at Dentistry for Children! I like that they have lots of options for making children comfortable, their non-judgemental dental counseling and the many fun activities they have for kids at their office. It makes visiting the dentist so much easier for him - and for me too. read more

I drive over an hour to bring my kids here. The dentists are approachable, helpful, and easy-going; the hygienists are truly out-of-this-world! My youngest is autistic, and they had no problem helping him feel right at ease, even though he required pretty extensive work, and I was never made to feel as if I were a bad parent because of his decay (he couldn't handle the sensation of tooth cleaning for years because of his condition). My daughter, too, has no fear of the dentist at all; both of my children look forward to their visits, and always leave happy! Please be prepared, parents, that you will not be allowed into the room with your children; there is a window you can view them through, but the dentists' extensive experience has led them to the conclusion that the kids have a much easier time without their caregivers hovering over them, looking concerned. As a homeschooling parent who keeps my kids at arm's length all the time, I was initially surprised at this, but my fears were assuaged at once when I saw how happy and relaxed my kids were with the bubbly, outgoing assistants, and how they anticipated their next visit. What a concept-- I never imagined my kids would LIKE going to the dentist! Parents owe it to their kids to build a great first impression with this oft-dreaded area of medical care; a good childhood experience (and early, appropriate, treatment) can make all the difference to whether your kids will continue to have a healthy, pain-free smile when their visits become voluntary! read more

Came here for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. I called initially needing a slightly immediate appointment and they got us in within an hour. They have a cute and friendly environment for children to play while waiting. The best part is that everyone is very friendly and the dentists are willing to explain and sit for the time you need. I had questions and there was no rush to hurry us out. I also want to note that they were very thorough when taking a history and asked a lot of questions to make sure they had good notes. I HIHGLY recommend this place if you have kids and babies. We will happily be going here for as long as we can. read more

As far as the actual dentistry goes, I was highly impressed with how easy they made it for my daughter. She had no trauma and is not afraid to go to the dentist because of their staff's kindness. The Dentist and the assistants were wonderful to my daughter and I would give them 5 stars. The receptionists, however, leave MUCH to be desired. When I was initially getting her set up with them, they made derogatory remarks about the dentist's office that had referred my daughter to them. I thought this was very unprofessional at the time and should have been a red flag. I missed an appt and when I called up to apologize and reschedule, the lady was extremely rude to me right from the beginning and treated me very poorly. I was in tears by the time the conversation was over. I was very professional with her because in my job, that's the type of demeanor I strive to represent. My daughter has already been purged from their system because of one missed appt. My daughter is on state dental and I noticed in the time that I was there that people who had private dental insurance were treated a lot better by the receptionist staff. In person they were very abrupt and rude to me as well. I didn't say anything then because my daughter was very happy with the dentist and the assistants. So now, because I missed one appt ( it was the day after Easter, we still had family company and there was a lot going on today. I know it's not an excuse, but I didn't intend to miss her appt, it just happened) I have to find another dentist for her. They shouldn't punish the child because of my simple mistake. I have never been to a dentist or physician where, if you miss ONE appt they drop you. ( and I called within an hour after her appt time) So I gave them an overall low score because they should be more aware of how their practice is being represented by the people who answer their phones. read more

We took our three children here (to the Port Orchard location) today for their first visits, ever. Ages 5, and twins who are 3. Not only was the office a warm, fun and welcoming environment, the staff were all friendly and professional. Each Dental Assistant took one of our children so all could be seen at the same time. The Assistants were friendly, positive and took time to show our kids the equipment before doing any of their cleanings. The Dentist, Dr. Becker was very warm and fun with the kids and he was happy to have me watch him exam each of our kids and give me tips and tricks. I've been taking my daughter here for three years. First let me tell you that parking is a breeze. Then let me tell you that the grounds are well kept from the parking lot to the front door. Once we walk in, we are greeted with a smile as well as "how can I help you"? They are so nice and polite! Plus my girl gets a party bag. You know, toothbrush, toothpaste, a little toy, and knowledge. Then the doctor, no matter which one, they're all great, shows me exactly what's going on with her teeth and what we can do as a team.
