Dr Olson & his team are great. I have had more work done than i care to admit, fixing what other dentists have done thru the years. I don't feel the shots while dr is numbing me, and i don't get sick from the anesthesia. He explains everything and definitely is NOT pushy. Dr develops a treatment plan and you do what you want. I like that, i don't feel like a dollar sign, but a valued client. I get two to three teeth cleanings a year (my insurance pays for 3), and my hygenist feels like family (the good family, not the . . . lol). i schedule them before i leave my last cleaning, and offten up to a year out. They use text message reminders a week out, which i like, and i have gotten in on short notice when someone cancelled the week before their appointment. read more

I am giving them a three only because of their scheduling. the Dentist and Hygienists are professional, the problem is getting an appointment, and then not getting bumped down the road 6 months to a year. I was bumped once and it took a year to get back in the office, so I had to start the plan over after getting it approved through the VA again. It shouldn't be up to the patient to make sure the authorization goes through. That's just laziness on the office staff that handles authorizations. I was bumped a second time this past Jan, and they first said it was a staffing issue. But as I complained that it would take me a year to get another plan authorized through the VA at the same time trying to coordinate with the Dental Office, the excuse to bump me again became about the VA and getting the authorization through. I feel that they want to blame it on the VA but what it really is is that the VA only pays a small amount of the bill in the end, and they don't like that. Don't take VA as a provider if you don't like how much they cover in the end. read more

Wow. Blown away by the bedside manner of every single individual I encountered here, from the front desk to the hygienists to the wonderful, compassionate, artist of a dentist that--quickly and expertly, in equal measure--reconstructed a tooth in which a previous dentist had done subpar work. This pandemic has been hard on everyone and patience has been noticeably thin everywhere I go, but mercifully not here at a time I really needed kindness, patience, understanding, and information. Do yourself a favor and do your research. They have horrible communication with each other. It's taken over 2 years to get a tooth color right. Still not the right color. Does not match my natural teeth. When I suggested I go somewhere else, they basically threw a fit. I had wisdom teeth removed and an implant placed with zero instruction on how to properly clean or care for. Ended up with an infection. Different incidence ,Showed up for my appointment and they had me down for the wrong procedure then charged my insurance for what was scheduled but never happened. VERY rude staff including their accountant. Put me in temporary teeth for months at a time. Had one of my crowns fall off, never answered their emergency line nor did they bother to call me back. When Monday rolled around I was told they couldn't get me in until later in the week, mid you my tooth had fallen off and was something that would literally take less than 10 mins. To glue back on. I could go on and on about how horrible this dental office is. I am now left with a blue front tooth and a bad implant. I now have to go to a specialist to get fixed. Just go somewhere else. I would rate them zero stars if possible. read more

Went in, bad tooth ache. Dentist told me I "probably" needed a filling, come back in 2 weeks if pain persisted. I said, no this is not a filling ache. Went to another Dentist. Immediately identified I needed a root canal. Got the root canal. Pain gone. Went back to Viking dental when appointment was scheduled. Walked in for appointment. Dentist said, "why are you here". I said I have an appointment to get a crown. He said, "must be a mistake, come back next month". Had I known that, I wouldn't have left my house in pandemic. Came back a month later right before I am going to move out of state. Crown did not fit. He told me, "Well I was not a part of this process" and "It's not perfect science". Told me to get it done after I moved. REALLY!? Lived with a stump in my mouth for 2 months at that point. He did not refer me to ANYONE in Poulsbo. WTF. So I googled, Same day Crown. Got Modern Dentistry. Went in, took care of me right away. Crown same day. Much better manners. Multiple occasions, horrible customer service on dentist end. Girls assisting, EXCELLENT. I understand he is a military man. So am I. This isn't Navy Dental, shipmate! read more

Worst dentist I have ever encountered. He was rude and hurt me on purpose because he was angry he had to do the surgery that had been scheduled. I drove 1.5 hours to the office only to have him ask if I was going to Africa anytime soon? WTF? Because if not let's just wait and see how things go. He had determined the week before that he had done a bad job removing the infected root canal and the infection was still there. I told him I drove 1.5 hours and wanted the infection taken care of now. He literally stabbed me with the needle to numb the area. I jumped out of the chair and screamed and he told me to stop being so dramatic. He is a horrible person and has zero bedside manner and will gaslight you. read more

I want to give a HUGE shout out to Jillian, Jessica, and Dr. Scott Olson @ Viking Dental for their assistance and for staying open additional hours tonight (on a Friday evening--the start of their weekend) in order to accommodate my dental emergency. I couldn't imagine making it through the weekend with the kind of pain I was experiencing, and all of the places listed as emergency dental care providers were either closed or fully booked. She answered all question as good as she could and Dr. Olson completed my appointment with interest and explained, what the next steps are. But she had tooth pain and I called and made an urgent request for care. They saw her the next day and he was so gentle and convincing with her to save her tooth and dignity. am a patient with a lot of anxiety when it comes to dental care. Dr. Olson has by far the worst bedside Manners I ever experienced. He was short tempered and had no patience for my fears. He seemed preoccupied and not focused on what he was doing. He seemed occupied with personal matters and was eager to finish with my dental work. Leaving me hanging with questions and concerns that the assistant was happy to answer as good as she could. It seemed more like I am having dental work done by my First Sergeant or Drill Sergeant. The front desk staff is very professional, well dressed, clean and happy to help. I will not return for my follow up appointment and will not recommend this office to anyone who has dentist fears. read more

I came to Dr Olson's office because I needed a second opinion about a proposed, very expensive treatment plan I received from another office. This office has been incredibly wonderful! They have helped me understand what does need to be done and what services might be able to be optional or dealt with at a later time. They've taken much time with me to help me understand and help me relieve much of my dental anxiety. I feel like I am in such good hands. I really appreciate Dr Olson for helping me navigate a new treatment plan that I can emotionally and financially deal with. (See Viking dental in house dental insurance plan. Very helpful for our family) I am in the beginning of my treatment plan and was so pleased with my first repair of a broken tooth! Not one "Zinger" experienced! Wonderful first visit. Whew.
