I do not recommend buying from them, over priced. My husband bought me a supposed fresh baked cheese cake, and when we picked it up it didn't have fresh strawberries on it, just jam, now when we got home it was soild as a rock,still frozen, so I called them and asked her why is this cheese cake frozen, oh yeah $30. Cheese cake. And her reply was well you see its the way I bake it in the pan to get it out. I said nonsense I've baked plenty of cheese cakes, in the past, and never have I ever frozen my cheese cakes. Also I could taste the frozen from it, it was not just frozen, they lied, and also if I want a cheese cake with sour cream in it. I'll bake it that way myself.. nastiest cheese cake I've ever eaten.. pass them up.. and many people warned me about them, and I went against it and ordered. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! read more

Wonderful bakery! I was driving from Houston to Austin and needed a pecan pie. I called ahead and they offered to hold one for me. When I arrived, I was greeted by two friendly employees and shelves of delicious looking treats. They had my pecan pie already packed up and ready to go. It was absolutely delicious!!! Probably the best pecan pie I've ever had - flakey crust, perfect texture, and just the right amount of sweetness. I will definitely stop by again. read more

I LOVE Johnson's Bakery. I have ordered from here several times for several different types of occasions and I have never been disappointed, the prices are fair and the products are AMAZING. They can make pretty much anything you ask for. I always find stuff on pinterest that I want so I will either stop by or email pictures of what a I want and they make it. I have never been told no! Just had to add that the 50th Class Reunion Cake that Johnson's Bakery made for the Class of 1966 was: Fabulous! Decorated wonderfully, and tasted just as good as it looked. I omitted in my previous review, that they bake terrific trays of cookies for you to take to a party, reception, Coffee hour, etc. The result is better than you can bake yourself, so just let Johnson's do it...Snickerdoodles to dies for, BTW.....Treat your co-workers or fellow committee members to a plate of Johnson's Bakery cookies, and you will have no need for a Mediator, as all will be busy munching away... read more

I got a German Chocolate cake for my husbands bday, I am not a big fan but that is his favorite. Not only was the cake beautiful it was ABSOLUTELY DELISH! One cake served 22 people, small slices but enough to satisfy everyone and I took 2 more slices home! Had lunch at Johnson's Bakery--BEST grilled cheese sandwich I ever had. Bakery goods yummy! I will be getting loaves of bread at Johnson's instead of a grocery store as Johnson's bread is far superior and less expensive than the grocery store which brings in frozen bread loaves and bakery goods. read more

My husband and I ordered a cake for our daughter's college graduation party. We ordered it approx 2 weeks in advance. The colors were maroon and white and we were told the cake would be ready at 11:00 am day of party. When my husband went to pick cake up, it was not ready. He waited 30minutes, then when cake came out the colors were pink and white. He was told "they have a tough time with maroon icing". They were unable to correct icing and we were left cakeless!!! Had to run to local grocery and hurriedly buy a cake. The owner was very nice, but we had no cake!!! They never told us in advance that maroon icing was a problem, in fact we were offered theses colors up front without any hesitation! We were so disappointed!!! read more

The employees were very nice. The sandwiches were just ok. Lettuce, tomato and onion come on the side. If you want them on your sandwich you domit yourself. Kind of messy with the mustard and mayo on the bread. And how does a bakery run out of rye bread? So much for getting a reuben. The bakery items looked good but we didn't try any. read more

I was very disappointed and treated very rudely. We wanted fresh bread so we went to Johnson's Bakery. I ordered their bread for my daughter's wedding that was on Thanksgiving. We specifically discussed needing sliced bread and how many slices we needed etc. I picked up the bread the day before and it was still partially frozen. When we opened the bread the next day, it was not fully cooked and doughy and it was not sliced at all. So our guests had no bread for the wedding. Which is a nightmare on Thanksgiving. When I called and spoke with Johnson's Bakery (I hoped for an apology and refund but I was not rude) they never apologized and said there was no note about slicing the bread. Nobody called me back. I called again and got the same response. They finally agreed to refund my money. I went into the store and was told they hoped I went to H.E.B. next time! Done. I will go to H.E.B. next time where they have better customer service. read more
