We had a bath tub refinished by Miracle method. They cleaned the tub, but did not remove the…read moreplumbers putty around the drain. When the job was complete, I was able to wipe off the new coating as easily as removing playdoh. They removed the overflow drain cover during the prep / etching process. Then put it back on and masked it off during the glazing process, so the area behind the overflow was not glazed. When I went to put my new overflow cover on, I found they just glued the old one one. When I removed it, it took the brand new glazing finish off with it. The bolt was broken that holds this cover on, they just glued the bolt head on to mask the problem. This bolt also holds the drain pipe to the tub, without it, water will leak behind the tub, cause mold and possible flooding to the downstairs neighbor. Update, about a week later. I extracted the broken bolt from the drain pipe using a little PB Blaster, heat and working back and forth. MM sent a more experienced tech to re-do the previous job. Looks fine now. Considering the mistakes that were made, and the cover up to hide the broken bolt, I'm not changing my review rating. The first tech clearly had no common sense, not what I would expect from a $1k paint job.

One leg's bolts had shorn off and the leg was literally held in place by duct tape! The finish was deeply faded and there were watermarks throughout. But the new tables we looked at, with their recycled wood, just didn't appeal. Researching alternatives, Stephens Furniture appeared to have successfully restored similar furniture challenges. Maybe our table could be saved and brought back to life. I reached out online, providing a description of the table issues along with photos. A few days later I had a quote for the job and was assured it was doable! I gave the go ahead and the next week Mr. Stephens and his son stopped by to get the table. Talking with them was a rare opportunity to converse with true artisans. The father has been restoring for furniture for 50 years (!) and his son is following in his footsteps. While he was in our home, we took the opportunity to get his opinion on several other legacy furniture pieces we had, and he freely gave advice and suggestions. The refinishing project would take a month or more, but we could be patient. Payment was half upfront and half on delivery of the finished table. A while later we got the call that the table was finished and arranged a suitable delivery time. Now our Old Friend - looking brand new - is back in our home! They did an outstanding job, the table is beautiful, and will be the scene for family dinners well into the future. A special finish was put on that would resist those pesky watermarks! I just finished my bathroom remodel and felt Pristine Coating really deserved and review as there has been absolutely no issues with the refinishing job at all. Now that I've got a new white bathtub installed, you literally cannot tell the difference other than that the new tub has some traction whereas the refinished tub was a little more slippery. The floor tiles have kept in reasonably good shape as well. There are some normal wear and tear from dropping things and foot traffic (adults only, no kids or pets). Originally I was not going to remodel until at least the warranty was up, and I'm sure the job would have held up just fine for another 1.5 years, but due to other circumstances I've pushed up the remodel timeline. I reached out via Yelp and didn't get a response after the initial response. After a little more…read morethan 1 week of waiting and having my other furniture refinish appointment get delayed, I read a review saying the owner was more responsive over text message and gave it a shot. It was about 11pm so I didn't expect a response until the next morning but I got rapid fire responses and was able to schedule an appointment the following week after confirming a few details (namely, insurance to cover the table if it is damaged) I wanted to re-finish an epoxy resin waterfall table that I messed up on and wanted to restore its matte finish. The table was picked up and I was told to expect it to be done within 1 week. About a week went by, I checked in for any updates and pictures and was told they just put on the first coat. Another week went by and the second coat was applied but was told the issue prior to the work is still visible. I was then upsold to switch to CV (previous was using rubio/osmo to finish). Being fairly unknowledgable about finishes, I asked a few questions and was just told it was better. I did some basic research (chatgpt, reddit, youtube, etc.) and was fine with it. It cost an extra $100 but the labor to re-sand the surface to remove the rubio applied was covered. All in all, about 3 weeks went by and I received the refinished product. Overall, I it looks as I wanted it to. Mauricio handled the initial pickup and subsequent re-delivery so the process is very convenient if you are busy and don't want to plan how to transport heavy furniture. Some notes: - Its best to reach out via text message to Mauricio and to do so at some regular cadence if you want updates. Perhaps calling would be more expedient if you have the time. - There's a lot of promises or statements that were not followed through (e.g. I'll send an invoice by end of day, I'll send updated pictures by end of day, etc.). See first point. - Estimate may be over-exaggerated. The project went from 1 week to 3 weeks. - It would be nice to do a pros/cons breakdown or simply spend a few sentence educating clients on the trade off of finishes (e.g. Rubio vs Osmo, Rubio vs CV, etc.).
