Brought my car in to them for 4 new tires. The process itself was smooth, and the work was done in a very reasonable time, as they promised. I found the price of $ 103.00 for tire installation sort of high, but went with them nevertheless, as I believe ein " you get what you pay for". Well, not in this case. when I picked up my car, the inner door handle was pitch black from dirty mechanics hands, and there was a giant foot print of black grease on the driver door mat. My car has a very light leather interior... Plus 2 of the 4 valve caps were not installed. I had posed some questions when I dropped off the vehicle, but the lady at reception just said " oh no, they never checked that out...". So while there are 4 nice new tires on my car now, ( from tirerack.com) the fact is that I have to scrub my floor mat to clean off the greasy foot print, and also clean the door panel and it's handle from greasy paws and knuckles. To me thats a definite sign of disrespect and lack of appreciation for clients cars and property. I had hoped to have found place to return to over and over, but this definitely isn't it. read more

I brought my Jeep in due to the "check engine" warning light being on. I needed it fixed in order to get a smog check for the new purchase/registration. The first time they said it was checked, and that the "02 sensor" needed replacement. I authorized it, but the check engine light came on again, a few miles on the way home. Brought it back , now they insisted it was yet another "sensor," and guess what? The light came on again a few miles later. Back again, now they insisted that the diagnosis is that the transmission is failing.....it would be over $2000. Well having spent hundred's of dollars FOR NOTHING already, was not quite THAT STUPID to believe them any longer. I made a gift of the Jeep to my son back in Georgia (they do not require a smog check) and he drove the car with that light on, yes, for well over a year before he sold it. BEWARE of John's, and esp. that sweet-talkin' front man (little girl) at the front desk. I hope they pay her well, and they all are able to sleep at night! Karma is a bitch! read more

Stopped in to get the air conditioner in my truck checked out. The young lady at the front desk quickly got my truck in the back and looked at. It was a bit of a wait, but she kept me updated throughout the whole process, even as she was fielding phone calls and helping other customers who walked in with their own car troubles. John talked me through the issues my truck was having, explained the fixes and patiently answered all my questions. He warned me I would need to replace two parts but that I would be able to make it home to my mechanic if he just fixed the urgent issue, which was appreciated. The tire new is around $120 and they sold me a really nice used one, mounted and balanced for $40. They even took it out of my truck and put it back in. Excellent customer service and super fast! I just left Johns Garage. I am a 61 year old woman with a Chevy Suburban. We had hooked up a trailer to our truck and the brake lights had stopped working. I had suspected it was a fuse, and when we had looked in the fuse box the spots that were supposed to house this fuse were empty. Anyway, Johns found the blown fuse and replaced it. They charged me $89 for the "diagnosis" and $6.99 for the 20 amp fuse. The fuses are an .80 cent item from O'Reilly, and they had the the truck for a total of 15 minutes. The total bill for replacing a fuse was $96.60. We have been coming to them with all of our automotive needs for the past three years that we have lived in Yucca Valley, but now we are done with that. They obviously do not need our business. We are going to give Woods a shot. read more

All employees here are very nice and helpful. They closed at 2PM one day that my tire had blew and I had a nail in each of my back tires. I miss you car got towed there right before two, they fixed it up and gave me a great deal on two new/used tires and two patches. I was very grateful for that. They had complimentary coffee, soda, and water. I'd completely recommend to go to this location if you have any tire problems. I will definitely be going back again. Also, they had a wide variety of tires, I have special tires and they even had plenty of those, Versus other tire shops not having them at all. This place is a 10/10 totally recommend. Took my car here for a busted cv axel. Quoted the best price by far. Service was quick and honest. True to quoted time and price. But what makes it 5 star? Day after repair, the new axel blows out. Call the shop, they apologize a hundred times, offer to comp towing immediately, fix it very next morning no cost. That's customer service!!! read more

Terrible experience!!!My husband went to this place yesterday morning to replace his one worn out car tire.Mistake! he purchased a used tire.Note that he didn't use it at all yesterday till this morning. We went out to eat breakfast few blocks away from our house, to our dismayed we found out that the tire was deflated. Across the street where we had breakfast is an auto repair shop so we went there straight to had it checked. The mechanic showed him few bubles on the tire therefore he had the tire replaced with a new one instead. We went back today at John's Garage hoping maybe we could get at least 50% of the amount that we paid for. But we're told that there is no warranty for used tire even though it's been less than 24hrs for as long as the tire is good when you left the premises at that very moment. We were asked why we took out the tire??? I told them that should had we continue driving with that condition it might damage the car rim and that will cost us more. We are glad that this thing happened because we found a better place to go now. Surely we will never come back to that place again. I hope that this will serve as a lesson to everyone not to trust used tire. And please find an autoshop who's Not All for Money and who genuinely care for their customers. Guess what? That $20 is not worth it if you will loose future business of whole clan. read more

DO NOT under any circumstances use this repair shop for anything outside of adding fluids or exchanging old tires. Sat for 7 hours in the lobby while they "tried to figure out the issue." Unknown to me, their lack of abilities ended up being the reason that my brakes were "broken". They pumped so much air into my brake lines through their many techniques of fixing calipers, that they couldn't get ANY fluid out. After having my vehicle towed to another auto shop in Palms Springs, they explained to me under no circumstances should I ever return to J & G Garage. Joke's on me today, I paid over $100 to have them nearly bust my brake lines, and wasted 7 hours while they figured out how to do their job. Unbelievably incompetent in the easiest of tasks. Honest and competitively priced. Here's how I know; I pulled in with a radiator leak after being told by Jiffy Lube ( don't rely on them ) that my radiator was leaking from the bottom and probably needed replacing. John ( of J&G for George ) quickly identified the problem as being a loosened plastic plug and did not charge me a dime. I also mentioned that another shop in town ( Big O ) was going to charge me over a grand because of having to remove a manifold to have spark plugs replaced on my Toyota ( which I discovered later was not necessary because the plugs were fine and the air filter was the culprit ) and John said he'd charge around 600 dollars for replacing my spark plugs versus over 1200 that I was quoted at not only Big O but also Discount Tires. So I can say with confidence that these are the guys to use. read more

I really can't say enough about John and his guys. They've been doing the work on my 69 Camaro. After having other places tell me to buy a new engine and blah blah blah... they said don't. Just needed some tuning and other work. It's driving good now. Only going here for the rest of the repairs. And to top it off, I was sold a piece of junk truck that they are helping me with and not breaking my bank. Right now I'm penny pinching since I've got some extra bills from health crap and they still got my truck back on the road and let me split my payment up. I've taken a couple of my cars to John's in the past. And I needed to get my car's oil changed. I'm sitting there and they come out telling me I needed a new Air filter $25 fine I told them. Then they came out and told me my oil pan drain plug was stripped. Well if it was stripped they Stripped it taking it out cause it wasn't stripped the last time the oil was changed so they got me for some TEMPORARY Bolt that cost me $15 bucks when Autozone only charged $5 for a permanent one. And when I got home and parked my car 10 mins later Oil came running out of my car. I had to have a friend fix their screw-up and buy more oil and a new drain plug and clean the driveway. What should have cost me $45 wound up costing me $130.00 and a stained driveway. I think this BS is how that make extra money off people. The chick that works there was checking out my car when I 1st drove up and I asked her if there was a problem and she said ' Oh I thought your car's tire was going low until you parked it. Trying to find something else to charge me for. I may be 60 years old but I could already see what was going on. I should have followed my gut feeling and left. read more

Found our local mechanic! The owner of my car previously jury rigged some hardware attaching one of the rotors causing some metal on metal action, following the rotor replacement at John's Garage. Who would've thought that getting a flat tire was the best possible thing that could happen to me? But that's exactly what happened. In the process my toe truck attendant referred me to J and G garage to get a quote for a used tire. Said they had new and used tires had great prices and honest top-notch service and was the best place in town. So I called and found out I could get a used tire in great shape mounted balanced for $40. Then a couple days later I decided I wanted to just go ahead and replace all four tires new and they said I needed rear brakes as well. they gave me a price unbelievable that was less than half of what anywhere else was so thanks guys you just earned another customer for life. The garage refused to take responsibility when my truck's battery died on the way back from picking it up from John's Garage. They replaced the battery and terminals. They would not come and tow me and I had to get a taxi and abandon the vehicle. The next day I brought it to another local garage who fixed the truck properly. They try to charge you 90$ for a diagnostic for each area of repair which does not go towards further repairs just to tell you what is wrong. And the diagnostic they did for me was incorrect. read more

I was on way home to Lake Havasu taking my grandson fishing on a Friday. Truck fuel pump went out . Truck was towed tow John's garage arriving around 12:30 PM. After diagnosing the problem, the young lady said they hopefully could finish. Did not want to be stuck in Yucca Valley over the weekend, so I tried to rent a car. None available. I asked her if they could fix. She put 3 mechanics on it. At 4:45 PM, the truck rolled out repaired. This saved the weekend for my grandson's fishing trip. The extra effort they put out was a blessing. I will recommend this shop to anyone. Only reason they received 5 stars, is because that is the max.
