Byron. Tammy. Shanna (i know I messed up her name). they always go the extra mile for me. My wife's car was always needing a jump. The Auto Club battery sold me a battery bc i needed one (maybe). but it would never hold a charge. Auto Club contractors replaced it twice. Told Tammy just change it out. No problems since I have a hybrid Honda. Clarity. It had some AC issues. Byron told me he can't work on that car. Not his expertise. Now that is honesty. And he always tells me straight. Just good people. And Ricky is my man. read more

First off let me tell you I was quoted with other people problems that did not exist Jhonnys they saved me $1900 from a job I did not need from the other guys from here on out we are only coming here for work on cars. read more

Awesome family run business; so glad someone recommended this place! Brought in an older jeep that couldn't pass smog. Front office girl was extremely nice and told us everything that we needed to do since our tags were expired. Johnny's performed an all day diagnosis and reset something that 2 other mechanics failed to do. Smog passed the next day without issue! The best part was receiving a THANK YOU card from Johnny's for trusting them to do the service! Who does that?? I should be the one sending the thank you card, for fixing the Jeep! THANK YOU! read more

SUPER professional! Beyond awesome in communication! Absolutely fantastic mechanical work...! This place is a rare gem!! Thank you, Jonny's Auto Service! I will be back! read more

We had our jeep serviced by Byron. He did an amazing job locating the problem and resolving it in a timely manner. We look forward to using their service in the future. read more

Wonderful experience at Johnny's! As a first time car owner, I was pretty lost in all the car maintenance talk. Chris made the process incredibly easy. I got an appointment the same day I called, got an oil change with a free 59 point inspection, and got a text within a couple of hours after with the results. The only extra thing I needed was a tire rotation which I suspected. No annoying upselling! I even had a large scratch on the side of my car that they didn't even try sales-talking me into getting repaired. The staff at Johnny's seem honest, fair, and feel like family. I recommend them to everyone that just got their first car and are new to the car world. Fair prices too! (Better than the dealership and Valvoline). Will be returning. I trust them with my car! read more

I am someone who is skeptical of auto repair shops. A flyer brought me here. I was able to get the service I needed scheduled. I got there for my appointment and was greeted and offered options. The timeline was met as told. They seemed to have sufficient spaces for working on the vehicles and there was plenty of space to park nearby or to get in or out. The place appeared overall well maintained which to me says they like to be clean and tidy. All in all a very pleasant experience and I will be back. It seemed that service was important to them and many clients appeared to be repeat clients. read more

My 2002 Chevrolet Suburban could not be smog tested due to an evaporative emission control system problem. The check engine light would always come on the dashboard. I took it to Covina Hills Chevrolet on Citrus Ave for repair at the recommendation of a mechanic I frequently patronize. The dealership was horrible. They had my vehicle for approximately 40 days, off and on over a two month period. They replaced a sensor, but the check engine light would always come back on. They had no answers and said their technicians could not figure out the issue. I finally abandoned any hope they possibly knew what they were doing. So I looked around and found Johnny's, who specialize in Chevrolet vehicles. Byron promised he would find the issue and get my vehicle fixed. Boy, was he right. He had my vehicle repaired and back to me the next day. It passed a smog without any problems and the check engine light has not come back on. Trust me when I say he knew what he was doing. In one day he did what the incompetent dealership mechanics could not figure out. I will definitely be back to Johnny's for any future vehicle issues. Thank you for getting my wife's car back to us in working order. They are also AAA approved repair facility. read more

I recently took my car in to Johnny's Auto Service for a routine oil change and inspection and was really impressed with the inspection details that were emailed to me (see images). You get to see all the technician's notes/recommendations along with images of your car. This made it very clear and easy when reviewing my estimate. I highly recommend Johnny's for any of your car's needs. read more

Trustworthy & reliable establishment. Have taken all of our cars there for SMOG Check services. Highly recommend!

Great customer service!! Took car in for AC issues and they checked the whole system and fixed the issue. They keep you informed through text of the status from beginning to end. Would recommend this auto shop to anyone. read more

Called and a female answered asked about sensor reset which I've had done on my car before due to the battery dying just didn't want to drive out to where I got it done figured I get it done locally. Her response was it can only be done by the dealer which is absolutely false. She should of said "we recommend " taking it to the dealer. At least provide the correct info to your customers. Horrible she should of checked with one of the mechanics before telling me it can only be done by the dealer read more

This place needs to get negative stars. I called to get a quote for a complete brake job for my Honda Accord. The woman who answers the phone was too lazy to give me a price quote instead she tells me that her shop wouldn't be the cheapest. Why not just show me some some courtesy as a potential customer and provide me with a quote? read more

If you have not gotten over to Johnny's for your automotive needs, i suggest you give them a try!! So so friendly! Tammy and Shanna are extremely friendly, happy and helpful. They do great work and stand by their services provided. They are not gonna push services/repairs on you that are unwarranted, and provide services in a timely manner! Thanks again you guys for everything you do!! read more

We have been bringing our cars here since our car dealer's service warranty ran out. We plan to drive our cars until we no longer can, and Johnny's is the auto repair shop where we plan on doing our ongoing maintenance, as they are fair, and they do excellent work. Shanna always explains the work that needs to be done, and she gives us clear estimates, in case we want to shop around. We have found their prices to be reasonable, and they don't cut corners. I know sometimes people want the cheap way out, but Shanna will refuse to do the work if it means endangering her customers. It is the way I treat my customers, and it's the way I would expect anyone to treat their customers. In the long run, it's the best way to do business. The way I see it, if you're going to drive, then you need to be willing to pay what it's worth to have car properly maintained. read more

Definitely not a diesel friendly shop. "This motor is definitely not new this motor is old " proceeds to show paper work of brand new motor and still gets crap talked to read more

This place is awesome really friendly and honest! I took my car in today for what I thought would be just a simple oil change. Turns out my car needed a lot more work done and they didn't specialize in it, so happily recommended me elsewhere free of charge. Thank you Johnnys auto service! Definitely will be coming back here in the future for repairs. read more

I have been to a lot of auto repair shops and this one by far has been the best! Very honest, extremely polite and very professional! I think I have finally found the best place to go to get my car serviced! Not sure what position Tammy is but she is very sweet! read more

Excellent service at a fair price. Family owned, 5 star from the so cal Auto club (AAA). They also have the skills to work on classic cars. I've seen some nice one's there. I have all three of my cars serviced and repaired there, including a diesel super duty. They back up their work with a real guarantee. They don't con you or sell you something you don't need. Honest Fair Professional Quality work. And what the heck... They are friendly and personable. I don't get anything for a good review. I am just giving "credit where credit is due." read more

Car problems are always a 'headache'. But Byron, Tammy & Shana have always been fair and accommodating! Expert advice & performance; deeply appreciated! read more

BEWARE! I believe these guys are crooks. We took our Taurus in because it had a blown head gasket. They gave us an estimate of $2500 (ouch) to fix it, my whole tax return, I checked around and found out that's about the rate although towards the high end. So we agreed and they asked for a $1200 deposit and we'll pay the rest when the job is done. Well a couple days later they said there was a problem and said it would be an additional $1400, raising the total to $3900 (wtf!), which I don't have and wouldn't pay that much if I did. Of course they said the $1200 I gave them was used in costs already. So they took $1200 from me and gave me back a car in worse condition than when I brought it in. I definitely will be notifying the better business bureau. read more

called to inquire and make an appointment for an oil change on my Lexus. the lady who answered was extremely rude and hostile. angry for no reason. I decided to go elsewhere. she is driving business away. Ihope they fix the problem. read more

Came here for an oil change. It was reasonably priced and the service was fast. The people here are super friendly and they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. Johnny's Auto Service - Auto Repair Near Me - Covina, California

Johnny's does really great work. I have taken both my cars (Ford Expedition and Nissan Sentra) and they have done major and minor repairs on both. They guarantee their work and I've never been disappointed. Highly recommended! read more

I don't recommend this shop. I'm from out of town and my starter went bad. It happened at night so I left a note saying just to replace starter. When I came to get my car they charged me for visual inspection $56.00 I did not ask for this. A starter they charged me $188.00 for a Chevy cavalier plus the labor. Over $300 To replace a starter . A starter cost @ $50.00 average with a good warranty not just for 1 year.Yes, this place is a ripoff, do your wallet a favor and go elsewhere. This place don't deserve a star and you don't deserve this place. read more

Our family has been taking our vehicles to Johnny's for the past few years, since moving into the area. Johnny's is always very professional and diagnoses the problem with our vehicles very quickly. Most recently, this month, we took in our older model Scion and had it serviced for noises coming from the engine at time of ignition (in the early morning). Johnny's was able to find the source of the issue and addressed the problem (tightening of timing belts). In addition, they changed the spark plugs and did an oil change, all for a reasonable price. Tammy and Shawna are always very helpful and friendly and take a sincere interest in their customers. We recommend Johnny's for your auto mechanic needs! read more

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Every time I bring my car to Johnny's for repair (for the past 30 years!), I am always quite satisfied with the work. Byron is a gem of a person and a gem of a mechanic! Up-to-date diagnostic machines to boot! Most impressive!! Shanna and Tammy are always friendly, patient, and helpful. You won't go wrong taking your car to Johnny's for repairs. read more

They may do decent work but they pride themselves on being rude to you and gouging you on the cost for parts. oh, and dont find the parts for less money, because they will lie to you all the way to the bank. i.e. my part was over 1000$ through them. I got it, same quality part for 600$. Got a bs. story about insurance and its impossible to have a business or make a prophet in California. This is after they agreed to put the part in if I purchased it. Again more attitude and was told good luck with that. They will never get any business from me or anybody I know!!!! read more

Beware, this guy just wants to take your money! Had my car towed there as a recommendation of AAA because my car wouldn't start. Johnny's called to ask if they could do an inspection. I said yes. I was charged $250 to inspect the car. Johnny's recommend a new battery. I didn't buy his battery because he wanted another $250 bucks. I brought my own battery and was charged for him to swap them out. This guy is a rip off. $250 buck to tell me I need a new battery in my opinion is a rip off. read more

Went in to get my truck to pass smog and over $1000 later it still didn't pass. Took it to another shop and they checked my vehicle and said my fuel pump was going out and that was the problem my vehicle was running lean and why it wouldn't pass.
