Newly rebuilt and cleaned transmission about to go back into the car
    Chandler C.

Kyu is a stand-up guy, very knowledgable and friendly, and takes the time to understand the issues your transmission might have. He and his team are precision craftsmen who will get the work done quickly and done correctly. On top of that, I was updated at every milestone they'd reach. And if there were other issues that came up, they were explained and quoted, and I was asked how I wanted to proceed. I had explained engine oil would go missing with no visible leaks after some driving, which ended up being a seal hidden behind the transmission. This was quickly rectified. When I originally called, the shop was super busy so I had to set an appointment for drop off and scheduled a start date and timeframe. But once the work was started, it was completed very quickly. Early, even. Upon pick-up, we went on a test drive and Kyu thoroughly explained the inner workings of my newly rebuilt transmission, and even gave advice on recommended driving habits that would increase the longevity of the new clutch and synchros. The warranty is very good, which means I can have piece of mind that this shop stands by it's work. Should anything go wrong, I was invited to bring the car back to have it inspected. This is a great shop with outstanding service. I highly recommend you give this place a call. It will be worth your time and money.

A little overdue since I had work done on my car 11/8/2020, but better late than never and its well deserved! I was recommended to this place by a fellow Yelper when I was looking for a transmission shop that specialized in Hondas. I was looking for someone to swap in a JDM Euro R transmission into my 2008 Acura TSX as well as install a new DC5 Exedy OEM clutch, DC5 ACT Streetlite flywheel, and EM1 clutch master cylinder. From the very first call, there was no doubt that their customer service was second to none. I spoke with the owner Kyu and explained the details of the work I wanted done to my car. It felt like a full fledged consultation. We were on the phone for about 15 minutes while Kyu meticulously went through all the details of the install, including asking me about which parts I was bringing, double checking if the parts I had were compatible with my car, and even expressed a concern he had with the light weight flywheel that I didn't even think of. It was very apparent that Kyu was very well versed in Hondas. The day I brought my car into the shop I was running a little late and I received a text from Kyu asking if I was still on my way. This guy is a machine when it comes to scheduling. Since Green is always busy, he likes to have cars come in a day early so that the next day he can immediately get to work on it, which I really appreciated. During the installation, Kyu kept me very up to date on the progress of the install. He would not only send me texts, but he also sent me pictures of the install as they went along. This gave me that much more confidence in the shop. While they were completing the install, I had a broken transmission mount that Kyu notified me of right away and told me how much it would cost if I wanted to fix it via text, so there were no surprises when I received the final bill later. When I went to go pick up my car, Kyu ran through each item of the bill and completed a walk around of the car with me. He popped my hood and voiced everything thing they did as well as all the difficulties they went through and how they solved those issues. We must've been in front of my car for a good 10 minutes or so. Again, Kyu is very detailed oriented! Per my request, he gave me all of the stock parts that were removed from the car as further proof that the work was completed. He showed me the broken transmission mount and showed how bad my stock clutch was. He then explained why my clutch pedal felt so terrible by showing me the severe wear on the clutch disk as well as the heat spots on my flywheel. After two and a half years of owning my car, my car finally drives how I like it! Its such a relief to have an enjoyable car to drive again and it couldn't have been possible without the help of Kyu at Green Transmissions. If you have a Honda or Acura that needs transmission work, don't bother looking anywhere else.

The green transmission shop amount the best in the industry. Great communication even though my clutch took forever to get receive also kept communicating every week when the clutch will arrive. Worth every penny by far, also fixed mistakes from the previous mechanic. The shop also give me every detail I need to know before leaving the shop. Highly recommend this shop to anyone who looking for reliable professional experience transmission shop.

At Green Machine, you will find incredible service: honesty, courtesy, efficient and timely work, along with fair prices. During my first visit, Kyu helped me understand the issue with my car (bad torque converter), addressed the costs and laid out my options. I decided to bring my car back to have the transmission on my 2001 Honda Civic rebuilt and realized how diligent and fastidious he was, as he texted me additional problems the car had (broken front and rear motor mounts) with the pictures included. He even put the broken mounts in a bag for me to see and take with me. It was to my great relief that he was able to finish the job on the very day, as it was initially speculated that it would be completed the next day (he texted me). He also pointed out the areas that didn't need immediate attention and gave a 40k mile warranty for the transmission. His professionalism, work ethic, and timely effort exceeded my expectations. I will be returning and for those looking for a mechanic that is willing to level with you and all of the above, Kyu's Green Machine will be worth your visit.

I called around different shops, and none made me feel as comfortable as Green Transmissions. They know their stuff and no one can can beat their 40k mile warranty. My car drives like a new car and would refer anyone one of my friends or family

We've taken every Honda/Acura we've owned to Kyu for many years. Very different problems and he's honestly a good businessman. Whenever we have had to go in, he's thoroughly explained the issues and costs associated. Usually when it comes to your car.. the price can be a heart breaker. However he's always been reasonable and fair with what he charges. Green Transmission is located in an small plaza with plenty of on site and street parking. The waiting room for customers is clean and looks like it's had some thought put into it. It is not just a side room with a few chairs. They've set up a few things to keep you occupied while you wait. If you take a look around, there are items posted all around to show you what they use on your car like OEM Honda fluids and parts. That is definitely not something every mechanic/transmission shop will use to save themselves a buck. Whenever it comes to repairing a vehicle it is always a big investment. So the overall experience with your mechanic needs to involve trust that the work will be done honestly and in a timely manner. I feel that Green Transmission has exceeded that expectation on every single car I've taken in.

This place deserves 10 stars. I needed my transmission rebuilt on my 2004 Honda Odyssey. I picked Green transmission over a couple other mechanics for Kyu's friendliness and expertise. I haven't met many business people as passionate, skilled, and thorough as he is. He met the deadline I needed, with time to spare. He showed me a breakdown of transmission parts and what function each piece served. Then he explained to me what may need to be replaced and why so that I had a good understanding of the procedure. While in progress, he texted me photos and videos of my transmission parts and explained where he was at in the process. After I picked it up, he kept in touch with me to make sure it continued to run well. I drove a few thousand miles on a road trip (over the next week) with no problems. He also provided me with great general advice on how to best maintain my van. Rebuilding a transmission isn't cheap so I wanted to know the mechanic I hired could get the job done well. I have been very happy with the service I received. He has gone above and beyond my expectations. I wish other businesses ran their place like Kyu does!

Kyu was very communicative! Updated me with everything they found in my car that needed replacement. They rebuilt my transmission and replaced my motor/trans mounts. My car shifts like butter now. Kyu and his crew got the job done in a timely manner and for a very good price. 10/10 would highly recommend.

If you need to fix your Honda/Acura transmission, this is THE PLACE TO GO! I initially found it on craigslist and then came to yelp for reviews. This place rebuilt my 2001 Honda Odyssey transmission within a day (amazing, think about the amount of work required) and installed an optional tranny cooler (highly recommended!). The transmission is shifting butter smooth, it literally feels like a new Honda again. No hesitation, no slipping, no check engine lights, no drama. Their work also includes a 40,000 miles, unlimited time, warranty! Kyu is extremely knowledgeable and honest. I'm fairly mechanically savvy and I can tell that he is one of those detailed oriented "get it right the first time" kind of person. That's the kind of specialist you want when you're dealing with transmissions. He explained the parts that might need replacement (which made total sense, i had done some prior research online) and only replaced the parts that truly needed replacement. In other words, he's extremely honest and doesn't overcharge you for parts you don't need. How rare is that nowadays. He also checked other things not directly related to the transmission at no charge and kindly informed me that my front rotors were pretty worn down (I didn't know, shame on me), but didn't push to sell me anything. He simply informed me. The pricing was fantastic (as good as the other competitor on craigslist who had previously done other work in my Acura TL... it was okay, nowhere as good as Green Transmissions), but the quality of work here is absolutely outstanding. The shop also does full flushes (9+ qts) for a rate similar to what dealerships charge for simply "drain and fill" (3-4 qts). I'll definitely be back every 40-50k for the full flushes. The waiting room has a large comfortable sofa, vending machine, a racing game and is air conditioned; it's a very good and clean waiting area. This shop has earned my business for life.

I've taken a little longer than I should have but I'm am super ecstatic about how smooth my car rides after Khu and his team brought my car back to life. I couldn't be anymore grateful to have chosen this transmission shop to be the one to have worked on my car. This shop in my experience hands down one trustworthy and understanding shop

Our family's Ford Explorer required a water pump replacement…read more I visited several local auto shops to obtain quotes and was shocked, disappointed, and discouraged at the prices I was being quoted for the work my vehicle required ($5,000-$7,500) Shame on me for not reading Yelp reviews before wasting my time visiting other auto shops. I read the many positive reviews for Hye-Tech Auto Repair and decided to visit them. Upon entering, I was greeted by John (owner) with a friendly, "Welcome, how may I help you?" I explained that my Ford Explorer needed a new water pump and a few other items that other auto shops had advised me would require repair or replacement. While John looked up a few items on the computer to provide me with a quote, he introduced me to his son, Harry, who happened to be in the office. Thirty seconds later, John provided a quote that was $3,500-$4,000 less than the other shops. I could not believe it. John explained that he makes his living and succeeds in his business through repeat customers, and he does not believe in gouging customers for every last penny. He also shared that when he retires, his son Harry will take over the business, and he wants to leave Harry with a solid foundation of loyal repeat customers. It was then that I knew I could trust John and his son Harry. John went on to explain that replacing the water pump on a Ford Explorer was a 10-12 hour job, as it was an internal pump requiring numerous engine parts to be removed to reach it. This was the same thing all the other shops advised me. John suggested that I leave my vehicle, and he would perform a full inspection of the engine and contact me before doing anything to it. I agreed and left my vehicle. The following day, I was contacted by John, who advised me that the water pump did indeed need to be replaced, as it was the source of the constant leaks of the water coolant. I left my vehicle in John's shop for three days. During this time, John or his son, Harry, contacted me numerous times to keep me updated on the progress of my vehicle and also to point out that mechanics had discovered two or three very inexpensive items (under $50.00) which they recommended replacing, which I agreed to have done. All in all, I was and am extremely impressed and satisfied with everything about this shop. I spent much less money to have five different issues repaired on my vehicle at Hye-Tech than what I was quoted to replace my water pump alone by every single shop I visited prior to coming to Hye-Tech. John and Harry are very friendly, honest, and trustworthy. They are also very knowledgeable and experienced, and they offer GREAT customer service and communication. This is my new go-to shop for any issues involving our family vehicles. Thank you, Hye-Tech Auto Repair, for a very positive experience.

It's nice to see you can get quotes at the touch of a button on your phone. This morning, I had time off, so I headed in to get my service done. I did not have an appointment and that did not seem to matter. I arrived first thing in the morning at 8 AM and ask if the service could be done. Harry was an exceptional young man, he took me in with no problems, no questions. He said they could do it this morning. I told him I would have to wait. He had no problem with that either. Prior to bring in the car in this morning, as I said, I used a yelp project and had several people reach out and give me quotes. After looking at all the yelp reviews I decided to give this place a try. I am super happy that I did. This place is a hidden gem, excellence, service, quality, and value for what you receive. There are not very many shops where you could feel comfortable and put your trust in them. As I spent time in the lobby, I was able to see customer service on the phone and customer service entering the facility. Every customer that walked in, seem satisfied and was treated with dignity and respect. I highly recommend this place if you have any automotive questions whatsoever.

Sure enough Matt called me to let me know there were some items found during inspection and which ones needed to be addressed right away. After agreeing to the updated quote they got to work. I came back to the shop prior to being told my car was ready, and I think there may have been a delay in getting parts needed (dropped the car off at 9am, wasn't done until 4pm). Other than that, the quoted price is what I paid, there wasn't any pushing to buy a service that wasn't needed. I will definitely be bringing my car back for the additional work needed.

I had ruled out the upstream O2 sensor, catalytic converter (both new), MAP sensor, and fuel injectors. I explained all of this to Matt before bringing the car in. He assured me they could perform deeper diagnostics with their equipment. After dropping off the car, Matt called and told me they had "confirmed" exactly what I had already told them, and that the next step would be pulling spark plugs--for an additional fee. At that point, I decided to go elsewhere. What I don't understand is why I was still charged the full $85 diagnostic fee, plus a $4 hazardous materials fee and $3 shop supply fee. Plugging a car into a diagnostic scanner does not generate any hazardous waste--no fluids are drained, no chemicals are used, and no parts are replaced. There's nothing about a basic scan that would justify a hazardous materials charge. That kind of fee typically applies when disposing of things like oil, coolant, or other regulated waste, none of which occurred here. In the end, I paid $92, wasted time and gas, and learned nothing new. The most concerning part was Matt admitting he didn't even know spark plugs would need to be checked as part of further diagnosis.

5 Stars - TMC Auto Repair in Diamond Bar (aka the place that actually gives a damn)…read more Let me paint you a quick "before and after" picture so funny it hurts: Scene 1: Midas in Diamond Bar, 3:50 PM I roll up with a driver's window that's basically on permanent vacation (stuck halfway like it's trying to ghost me). The guy behind the counter doesn't even glance at the car. Doesn't ask a question. Just grunts, "Yeah, it's the motor." Me: "Cool, wanna pop the door panel and confirm? I'll pay for the diag, takes 10-15 minutes tops." Him: refuses to move, refuses to look, basically treats me like I'm trying to sell him oceanfront property in Arizona. I left wondering if "customer service" is now Latin for "get lost." Scene 2: TMC Auto Repair (literally two minutes away, same day) I used to go to this shop years ago when it had a different name. Now it's TMC and let me tell you -- it should be called TLC because that's exactly what they give you. Walked in frustrated and Martin greeted me like a human being who mattered. He listened to my Midas horror story, laughed with me (not at me), and said, "Let's actually look at it." One of his techs pulled the door panel in like 8 minutes and... drumroll... the motor was bad and there was a broken plastic piece in the regulator (exactly what I told Midas Guy, who apparently moonlights as a psychic but forgot to charge his crystal ball). They got the window temporarily working until the new part arrives, didn't overcharge me, and treated me like I've been their customer for a decade (because I basically have). Moral of the story: Midas Diamond Bar just lost a customer for life in under five minutes. TMC gained a customer for life in under five minutes. Martin and his crew are professional, honest, fast, and actually enjoy fixing cars instead of playing "guess the problem from the lobby." If you're anywhere near Diamond Bar/Walnut area and need work done by people who treat you like family (the good kind, not the dysfunctional Thanksgiving kind), go see these guys. 10/10, will be back the second that part shows up -- and for every oil change, brake job, and random rattle from now until my car retires.
