Yes, airport food is expensive, whatever. This review is based purely on the quality of the food. The oil our fries were cooked in tasted like fish, gross. How do you mess up a grilled cheese? I stopped by here back in March of 2024, as I was waiting for my flight back home after having spent a week at Xcaret. I ordered a chicken sandwich with the meal. They charged me for two, and I was quick to call them out on it. They offered to refund me half of the cost via cash, and I agreed. The food was ok, but not wort the price that they charge. The value was really not there. The second time I came here, the girlfriend and I were on our way back home from our NYE Cancun excursion. Had a bit of a mixed experience here at the Johnny Rockets in Cancun Airport. While the burger had good flavor to it (with that much grease it had to taste good), the burger meal cost $23.88 usd which I thought was outrageous even for an airport. The fries were not very good, and there was not many of them at all. I figured this would be the fastest and potentially cheapest option in the airport and it still took well over 20 minutes to get the food. Both the people who took the order and gave me the order were friendly, so the customer service was a plus. Not much to say as far as ambiance goes since it was just open tables in the airport. $$ EXPENSIVE $$ Hey! Here is a quick review of our experience at Johnny Rockets, which is located inside terminal 3 of the Cancun Airport. The service was great. We actually got a table and immediately a waiter showed up. He cleaned the table for us and efficiently took our order. He was very attentive despite a large number of tables he was servicing. Burgers, fries, onion rings and shakes were decent. Think old school diner food when eating here. The people behind the counter were also working hard. Unfortunately, they price gouge you like no one I have ever seen before which is why I am giving this spot ONE STAR. I ended up dropping $106+tip on four single burgers, one with onion rings/fries and three with fries and three milk shakes. Enjoyed lunch at Johnny Rockets in the Cancun International Airport on a very busy Friday in February. However, my bestie and I were able to snag a table instead of waiting in the very long line. I like how the restaurant has their own dinning area, just makes for a better experience. Our server was friendly and kind. He was a little on the slower side, but we understood as it was extremely busy. Food took about 30/45 minutes to come out after ordering, but we expected that due to how crazy it was. Staff handled the busyness extremely well. Food was fresh and yummy. I saw servers cleaning the tables and greeting customers. Great experience. I actually liked that there were few choices - speeds up the process a bit. They have tableside service, but we just ordered at the counter. Taking that time made it so we were able to get a table after (timing is everything at the airport). Servers were friendly and food came out pretty quickly even though they were swamped. I upgraded to onion rings and this isn't my preferred style, but I'll go onion rings every time if given the option. I got a western burger, which was pretty good. We stopped in here before a long flight. This Johnny Rockets is located in Cancun Airport in Terminal 2. Their menu is the same as you'd find in any of their restaurants, and they have table service. The quality is as good as you find in any other Johnny Rockets, but because this one is located in an airport, it seems fantastic. The first time I ever tried Johnny rockets was at this very location. I absolutely loved it! I'm from Vancouver and had no idea we had this here (at the time. I believe they are closed now in Vancouver). The one in Mexico does not compare to the one in Vancouver. It is WAY better than the one in Vancouver. It's the only place I have to get my fix of food when either going through the airport or on vacation there. You cannot leave Mexico without trying it out! I was waiting for my plane ride home from cali and saw the long lines of people for this place. I decided to wait and try this place out since I didn't have a chance in LA. It took a while for food to come out and when it did, they ran out of trays so they bagged and boxed it all up. They forgot to give me that special sauce on the side that comes on the burger (asked for on the side because I dont really like those types of sauces since its usually mayo based and I dont really like mayo). They didnt give enough ketchup and having to get in that line every time for something they kept missing to give or not enough like napkins and ketchup was a hassel. The onion rings were pretty good but since they boxed the fries, it got soggy fast and I dont like soggy fries. The burger was just okay to me. Patty dry and tasted like an expensive version of cafeteria pattys. Its chewy and dry and tastes kinda rubbery and fake. The burger was big though and I could barely finish my food (3/4ths done) but maybe it was cause I didnt enjoy it much.
