Everything I tried was good -- bone in wings with Cattleman's gold and honey habanero, beer batter fries, and hot cheese balls. The beer batter fries were super good and I'd definitely recommend. Both wing sauces I tried were pretty good -- the honey habanero was more sweet than spicy but still tasty. The cheese balls were on the dry side but the ranch they came with was some of the best restaurant not-from-the-bottle ranch I've had in a while and just took the already delicious beer batter fries to the next level. Service was fast and everything was accurate. We'll be back next time we're visiting.

Their selection of their beer was a bit disappointing with most of the choices being IPAs which we don't like. They did offer beers from other breweries but when going to a brewery we like to try the beer they make. They had some fun sounding cocktails and they offered wines as well. Nothing local which was again disappointing. Our party of 5 ordered the beer cheese pretzels, the cheeseburger pizza and the Firefly pizza and we ate on the patio which was very full on the pretty sunny day we were there. They are dog friendly and there were a few dogs there. The food was good and the views were nice. I would probably return and try different items on the menu.

I was concerned when our drinks, salad, and appetizer arrived at the same time. My friend's fiance pointed this out and asked that things slow down a bit. The waitress was friendly and ensured we had some time between our appetizer/salads and dinner. The salad was fresh and our hummus appetizer was of high quality. I am very picky about my hummus, and it was excellent. Our entrees were all beautifully plated and tasted excellent. We shared carrot cake for dessert and was some of the best carrot cake any of us had ever had. They also have a very nice and reasonable wine list. I would come back here if I come back to Buckhannon.

Kind of a combination of a scotch egg (without the sausage) and a traditional deviled egg. I'm usually not a fan of curry, but they used it sparingly to create a nice flavor. We then shared the pierogies. Not sure if they were homemade or not, but they were definitely not the standard Mrs. T's. I loved how they put the potato pierogies on a bed of sauerkraut. It was the best of both worlds. If I had one complaint, I'd say the sauerkraut was a bit too sweet for my liking. But it was still good. For the main course, we shared a fish sandwich. No complaints here. A nice piece of fish served on a fresh bun with good fries.

Very friendly calm restaurant, they do achieve a calm ambience with a slightly smaller parking lot but that's not an issue. They deserve a bigger parking lot and more customers but either way, they're doing it right here. I got the "fiesta" which was a fried tortilla bowl containing mixed greens, pico de gallo, avocado, corn salsa, cheese, grilled chicken and homemade ranch for $16. Very worth it. While I eat small portions, a normal person should expect to be satisfied with this amount of food. It was everything I wanted in a salad. The waitress was very friendly and polite. It had good reviews on Yelp, so I decided to give it a go. And I'm glad I did. Everything was excellent. The outdoor seating was nice, the workers were friendly, my waitress Jae was very attentive, and most importantly, the fish sandwich was top notch. It certainly seemed to be freshly made and not frozen. I ordered fries on the side in addition to Cole slaw. The slaw was nice and creamy. While I generally don't like battered fries, these were pretty tasty. The only slight negative was the cost. At almost $30 for my sandwich plus a beer, it seemed a little pricey to me. But sometimes you have to pay for quality. I will return.

I will start off by saying I went in with high hopes and thoroughly expected to love my visit to…read morethis restaurant. I soooo wanted to give a better rating to a smaller, locally owned business, but my conscience will not allow it. My husband and I came in this past Friday for lunch, and the beginning of our visit was pleasant- we ordered 10 wings, and the waitress offered to let us get 5 of one flavor and 5 of another. We ordered them extra crispy, and got half Sweet Thai Chili, half Spicy Ranch dry rub- both excellent! Perfect crunch and flavor on the wings- would definitely order again. Then we ordered a couple of other items to share, and neither were anything to write home about, unfortunately- the nachos I would absolutely skip next time. They came with the cheap round tortilla chips and goopy, thick cheese sauce you get when you order nachos at the movie theater. You could tell they were trying to be creative with the toppings, which I appreciate, but there wasn't much flavor at all. The other item we ordered was the Billion Dollar Burger. I will say again that I definitely appreciate the thought that went into creating this menu- you could tell the owners are trying to be inventive and bring new flavors to a town in which those might not normally be available. However, the execution was lacking....the mushroom sauce did not have a lot of flavor, and instead of "microgreens" like the menu stated, the burger came with salad greens on top (nothing wrong with that; it was just unexpected). I am sure if we ordered another burger we would have liked it better, because the waitress assured us the beef is never frozen, and the patties looked to be a good size and have a nice crust to them. In terms of ambiance, it is more of a hole-in-the-wall find. There was only one other table with people when we arrived, and the two employees were chatting in the kitchen, which you could hear clearly because it is a smaller space. Despite it not being visibly busy, the other tables seemed still to have crumbs on them, and my husband and I had to wipe off our own table before sitting down. Again, I hope this does not come off as being rude or prissy- I wanted to like this place so badly and would be open to trying it again in the future. I love a good dive spot for burgers! However, in JAG's case, I think a little more seasoning in the food and running a tighter ship in terms of cleanliness and service could go a long way.
